I avoided this movie for a long time for being ''Reddit''.
it's actually quite good. Remove the butt-plug and Dominatrix jokes and it's awesome.

Agreed.
>it's actually quite good
what was tthe most enjoyable part of the movie for you?
A lot of things the film-making in general is impeccable. Some amaizing set pieces toward the end that I haven't seen anything like in a long time.
I love how all the characters come off as human even the IRS lady has a moment towards the end with waymond which I found really touching. The social commentary comes out as subtle, genuine and not too preachy despite appearing otherwise at the end. Basically it's just human not woke.

yeah
love the 20 minutes of "just be a good person bro" that's not hammered in at all
Well ''just be a good person'' is really not something to criticize but that's whole sequence is great spectacle and really entertaining. I don't think it's preachy or forced, just whacky.
And it's not like ''just be a good person'' solved the whole movie that would've been cheesy but the film continues after and doesn't comprimise on its exsistential themes and the hardship that comes with the human condition.
reddit
Here now it's not Reddit anymore
Considering how hard it is for some people it probably should have been 30 minutes.
What's the issue with being a good person? How dude you manage to conflate that with being
>woke
?
I'm not saying it's woke I'm saying it wasn't very fun to watch a chink go "just be a heckin good person" over and over
You're reducing the movie a lot to more easily criticize it. Do you have anything more interesting to say?
I'm reducing the argument of the guy I'm quoting that says the movie was good
it had an interesting premise but ended up being mediocre and dragged on for far too long
Well this discussion is bland.
just like the movie
Zing
>The social commentary comes out as subtle, genuine and not too preachy
You just listed my major issue with the film and it's very fact that none of the social commentary is subtle and actually very preachy.
>The social commentary comes out as subtle, genuine and not too preachy
Jesus Christ, how overt has social commentary become in modern film if someone can think this? It clumsily hits you over the head repeatedly with its preachy message and is not remotely subtle.
I thought it was good you know. I thought it was going to be ''Accept le heckin gayrinos, ok chud?"
but that was just a small part in an overall human message with human characters, that I didn't really mind it and didn't feel like it was trying to push an agenda or any political view at all. Just love people for who they are and be accepting of each other.
I am interesting to hear how it came across to you guys.
>I am interesting
awesome how?
The movie should have been 45 mins shorter
It doesn’t have enough material to justify its run time and it keeps on feeling like it’s about to end…but then doesn’t
I just watched this and I spent the entire movie repeating the words "this is reddit, this is memes, this is reddit, this is memes..." under my breath.
I fricking hated it. I was writhing around on the floor in front of the chair for the last 30 minutes it was so painful.
>Ayy quirky A24 movie lmao
If you liked it you're in the wrong place
Polly want a cracker?

the sausage fingers is still weird. Ke was the best part of the film though both he and James Hong.
It goes about forty minutes too long, has a juvenile sense of humour, some genuinely terrible dialogue at times and a really goofy central plot. It's truly nothing remarkable. 6/10 at best for me.
Reddit
>what if an Oriental travels through the multiverse movie was actually good
Say no more , famalama
Ironically this dumb fun action movie does a better job with it's social commentary and actually comes out as subtle, genuine and not too preachy
lmao look at the buttplug this movie has our humor
I really don't give a shit about yellow immigrants struggles in America
my name is lily ching chong we own a restaurant and my family forces me to study hard and granddad doesn't speak english where dem white boys at
I don't give a shit, no one does
All minorities in America think they are entitled to White Guilt bonus points but really only blacks (and to a lesser extent native Indians) get them
Sorry, it’s just how goes
>I really don't give a shit about yellow immigrants struggles in America
blue collar Asians and white collar Asians are two different demographics....
>I really don't give a shit about yellow immigrants struggles in America

Go back
Walter, this isn't a guy who built the railroads here
i couldn't make it past the first 15 minutes because there was too much ching chong speak, the copy i grabbed didn't come with subtitles, and i didn't care enough to try and find any.
You need to go back
I thought it was cute.
I liked it but the action was a little too chinky and while the absurdism played completely straight was bold I think it took most people out of the movie.
Can see why someone would love it or hate it.
>science fact
>science fact

>therefore, nihilism!
>no, you just be happy instead
>ok
it was a Rick and Morty episode with a bigger budget. it was mediocre.
