In fact the no-kill rule only because a hard rule in the mid 90's after the KGBeast controversy, some Russian assassin that Batman intentionally left trapped to die in a flood. When readers complained about that DC editorial decided to make it a hard rule and part of Batman's character.

What "le batman doesn't le kill people" people still don't understand 6 years later is that Batman killing in BvS and that being WRONG is the entire fricking point of the movie and his character. Characters tell him he's wrong constantly, society reacts badly to it, and the ending of the movie has him going back to his non-lethal ways.

But people just watch some Youtuber show a clip of Batman using a gun and go "oh no that's shit, why is snyder such a hack?".

Reminder that in the original cut of the first Suicide Squad movie there's a flashback scene that is supposed to be from when Batman was still murderous - between MoS and BvS - where he goes after the Joker and Harley Quinn, but fails to capture the Joker. Because of that he straight up rapes Harley as punishment.

It was recorded, since David Ayer posted a photo of it on his Instagram all proud of what an edgy frick he was to include a saucy rape in his movie. According to Ayer, Batman fricks her on top of the Batmobile and you can see Affleck flecking his pelvis.

The horribly tacked-on prologue to the animated Killing Joke is weird, by those standards.

The script for the original cut is edgy as frick. Here's a scene of Joker threatening to give Harley a Glasgow smile with a knife.

That's actually quite mild, considering he didn't actually do it. Way too far from being "edgy as frick".

Honestly I like this, it's just the monosyllabic style a lot of edgy writing goes for. Conveys the mood but I'm not sure how effectively it for a director/actors.

This is hot as frick though. Do you have the full thing?

Hope the Joker 2: Electric Boogaloo just portrays an abusive relationship with the understanding that adults get it.

              more like
              >He looked at her pale, delicate neck. Those rich veins, oozing with blood, calling to him. One bite. A flash of red. The smell. The taste... He came from just thinking about it tbqh.

He was only killing inadvertently in BvS and that was because he was going down a dark path. Then Martha thing woke him to his senses. If Joker was involved around this point he might have killed him.

  14. 2 years ago
    Anonymous

Depends. If we take the original scripts in mind, he tried to kill him but Jim Gordon stopped him. After that, Joker basically hid himself with his mafia goons (which is why he has the whole gang aesthetic in SS) and then asked Enchantress for protection (which is why Batman needs him in JL2 even tho he supposedly has no powers).

If we go from what we see from the movies: It is completely unknown what happened the day Robin died. Maybe Batman wasn't even present and he just got the suit or found the body. After that, Joker went full mafia and ran away any chance he had (like when he was driving with Harley and disappeared quickly while Batman was rescuing her). After that, we can assume Batman had no time because he was busy trying to stop Superman, then Steppenwolf. He might be angry as frick at Joker, but he's still one guy and Gotham has hundreds of crooks. He vented that anger by killing those crooks during BvS.

Wasn't Joker sent to Arkham after killing Robin, and we even have shit about Batman breaking his front teeth and ruining his face, which is why the Joker has the "damaged" tattoo?

        Anonymous

That's what I've heard too, that Jim stopped Batman, and sent Joker to Arkham, which is where he met Harley. This was the original timeline, but the producers of Suicide Squad added that "accomplice in the killing of Robin" line to her introduction, which David Ayer said was nonsense that didn't fit the events. The teeth are just a theory, although it makes a lot of sense. The damaged tattoo tho? No idea.

In the original script Joker and Harley Quinn relationship is toxic and abusive as frick. Harley tortured Joker while he was under he care at Arkham Asylum, because she wanted to push him into spilling his guts so she could make money selling books about "cracking" him. She gave electroshock to him, which turned him almost vegetable and fricked his memory.
Once he escapes he kidnaps her and torture her back into submission, turning her into a bimbo bawd that he pimps out. She in turn tries to make him jealous with other men prompting him to get physically abusive.
