I love this movie, god damn. People always shit on Wes Anderson but he's out here making amazing movies that he wants to make and that aren't coordinated by a massive committee at the House of Mouse
Hate to be that guy but the part where they go in the indian village and they act like they're on an alien planet and all the indian worship them like christ really soured an otherwise great movie
>film about reconnecting with family and soul searching >"love letter to India" >instead whitey comes in to save the day as always
it was completely unnecessary thematically and comes off like a sheltered fantasy of the 3rd world from a would be tolerant hippie
The 3 main guys, especially brody look pompous as frick aping the salute to everyone
You basterd fricking bithc.
I like how in all the movies he makes where people have gun fights no on ever get shot. As an ammosexual taking the absurdity of gun use in movies and making it even more absurd amuses me.
Based. Comfiest movie ever. My favorite comedy. Zissou bros, were home. Also i have such a fantasy to live my life like this in any way but idk how. I got my scuba cert, I just want to live on a boat with a bunch of frens
I love this movie. It was my first Wes Anderson film. Then I watched the French dispatch, grand Budapest and bottle rocket. Grand Budapest was fantastic, french dispatch was good but got worse as it went on and bottle rocket was good but definitely the weakest of what I watched.
you should watch rushmore to at least cover the bases. it was what made him popular, for better or worse. i haven't seen it since around the time it came out though so i don't know if it still holds up.
I’m literally in charge of packing all of my Environmental sciences and oceanography department’s gear for an upcoming research cruise. It’ll be the 4th one I’ve packed for while I’m getting my masters, I’m literally on my way to living this life, if I want it
Never seen it bruv
Give it a watch you probably won't like it the first 3 times
watch Boat Movie
Son of a b***h, I'm sick of these dolphins.
It is objectively true that cutaway models are kino as frick.
They built an entire dollhouse style cut away set for that sequence. This is the type of honest film making that you just don't see anymore
theres a few weird movies like this i could never watch. i think its all the same movie made by the same guy
>underrated
>has cult following
Does it have a cult following? Where? I don't keep up with this stuff
idk just google 'life aquatic halloween' thousands of people wearing uniform costumes
also 9000+ mentions of it in the archive
There's not a single Black person in that picture. Crazy. Must be really good.
Theres a couple tokens throughout the movie but nothing that will make you roll your eyes. The rival is a israelite though
Wasn't there a black guy constantly playing David Bowie songs acoustically and singing in Spanish?
He was alright.
Yeah black people make great wallpaper and I still listen to the soundtrack sometimes while driving
I’m pretty sure it’s Portuguese and he’s from Brazil
I think he was supposed to be the lookout when their ship got attacked by pirates
>virgin spoiler-tagging minor plot point
vs
>chad giving away major plot points
that's Seu Jorge and he's kino you uncultured pig
I love this movie, god damn. People always shit on Wes Anderson but he's out here making amazing movies that he wants to make and that aren't coordinated by a massive committee at the House of Mouse
Wes Anderson’s best movie, and possibly the only good one he ever made
I remember defending this movie when it came out and everyone was shitting on it. I knew people would come around eventually
i always liked this movie more than his other more twee sentimental movies. it also helps that it's genuinely funny
>"Ann Marie, do the interns get glocks?"
>"No, they all share one"
the part that always makes me laugh is when jeff goldblum's character is elated to be saved from the pirates and then is shot immediately
>I fold
I would rather say Darjleeng Limited is underrated
Hate to be that guy but the part where they go in the indian village and they act like they're on an alien planet and all the indian worship them like christ really soured an otherwise great movie
Good morning sir
the pajeets worship them because they fricking risked their lives to save some pajeets from drowning in the river you fricking moronic street shitter
>film about reconnecting with family and soul searching
>"love letter to India"
>instead whitey comes in to save the day as always
it was completely unnecessary thematically and comes off like a sheltered fantasy of the 3rd world from a would be tolerant hippie
The 3 main guys, especially brody look pompous as frick aping the salute to everyone

they hated eachother until that moment which allowed them to realize how petty they were being
Zissou's Vostok Amphibia.
Based. I have a scuba dude but if I didnt I'd get a zissou
uuuh?
We're taking it back, Zissou Society Bros
it's his best for sure, one of the comfiest movies ever made
Somehow his death is one of the saddest movie deaths, and it’s not even all that dramatic or played up
that's intentional. in a movie about a character who basically crafts a false reality the helicopter crash and death are basically played more "real"
don't know how this is one of anderson's lowest rated movies on RT, but the whole Cousteau thing does just hit a niche for me
Probably the worst movie I ever saw in theaters. Get some taste you hipster homosexual
LOL, god damnit. I never caught that one before.
I don't get it
they multiplied the latitude and longitude coordinates together to get a total. That's not how coordinates work
I read every line on that paper except "total" thanks
Should I watch Isle of Dogs right fricking now?
Isle of Dogs is EASILY his worst movie
nah that would be The French Dispatch
Wes Anderson is such a hack fraud it’s unreal
I like how in all the movies he makes where people have gun fights no on ever get shot. As an ammosexual taking the absurdity of gun use in movies and making it even more absurd amuses me.
I cried like a b***h at the end and I still don't know whygwnfkd
This is my favorite movie and it hurts my feelings when people make fun of it. There’s something about the adventure and characters that I just love.
You're A squad.
i've watched it more times than any other movie even though it's not my favorite. there's new details i catch every time, they spent the budget well
I like the one lady who's casually walking around topless all the time.
Everyone likes her. Everyone.
>never asked to be on A team, always B
why live
but he was in charge of team B
And he was in antichrist
>combat promotion to A team during the rescue
How did they all have Glocks if it took place before the 80s?
Based. Comfiest movie ever. My favorite comedy. Zissou bros, were home. Also i have such a fantasy to live my life like this in any way but idk how. I got my scuba cert, I just want to live on a boat with a bunch of frens
Marine biology as a concept is incredibly comfy
I love this movie. It was my first Wes Anderson film. Then I watched the French dispatch, grand Budapest and bottle rocket. Grand Budapest was fantastic, french dispatch was good but got worse as it went on and bottle rocket was good but definitely the weakest of what I watched.
What of his should I watch next
>What of his should I watch next
The Royal Tenenbaums
Moonrise Kingdom

Rushmore. It's his most toned down film and one of his best.
You're wrong. It's a good movie.
to me it seemed like everybody who knows about The Life Aquatic loves it, but that not enough people know about it.
I’m literally in charge of packing all of my Environmental sciences and oceanography department’s gear for an upcoming research cruise. It’ll be the 4th one I’ve packed for while I’m getting my masters, I’m literally on my way to living this life, if I want it
love it. back when wes' films still felt fresh instead of becoming the parodies of his style
