Nothing else to it, Xebec is dead. Its staff got bought by Sunrise and turned into Sunrise Beyond, and all of its assets went over to its parent company IG Port. And only because Fafner was originally Xebec will the studio still be named in the credits, but the Xebec brand probably won't ever show up again.

How does Hirai do it?
How does he manage to make all these 50+ episode shows and still make us unable to recognize even the main characters after all these seasons?!
I have watched all of Fafner up to date 3x's and you could literally put a gun to my head and I couldn't tell you anyones name in that picture.
Left to right:
Canon, Kenji, Sakura, Mamoru, Shouko, Kouyo and Maya.
Fafner and MJP probably have the most distinct character designs compared to other shows with Hirai working on them. Not counting Linebarrels, since he was merely adapting pre-existing character designs.
Hiraiface is really only a problem in SRW. Especially handheld ones where you can only see faces during intermissions. Gets really hard to tell Kazuki from Shinn or Maya from Mirialla there.
You guys are just fricking stupid.
I think it's not so much Hirai's fault as just the sheer number of named characters in this show. I would have a hard time remembering them even with more distinct designs.

I'd been putting it off for too long, but I finally finished The Beyond today. I didn't want the ride to end. Fafner has been a show that just manages to hit home for me each time.
I started tearing up in the finale once Separation started playing. But I was a blubbering fricking mess when Chocolat died. I knew it was coming. He was looking so old each time he was onscreen. But, still, it hit hard.[spoiler]
A good ending. Bittersweet at parts, but that's how the series goes. I hope they leave things here as far as anything that'd move the narrative forward goes. Anything else would feel cheap.[/spoiler]
