What was the plan here? Seems like having a completely different audience from who the movie was made for would hurt word of mouth.

supposedly test audiences thought it fricking sucked but they liked the scene with the kangaroo so they cut it down to a pg rating and based all of the marketing about the kangaroo character which only appears once in a dream sequence to disguise it as a kids movie so it would make money

The whole 1 inch people part of the movie is irrelevant, the main story is about the perils of getting cucked

I stopped watching this movie when they spent 20 minutes at the beginning establishing what the trailer managed in 30 seconds.
      >We can make people small.
      Good, got it, move on.

I thought it was weird that they animated his anatomically correct kangaroo bits.

I have a weird history with this movie, the earliest memory I have of going to the movie theater was (me thing I was) going to see this movie, but I saw X-2 instead, I've still never seen it, only have seen clips from it, in a vide explaining the controversy/situation of it, how it was a more adult comedy, later edited, and marketed towards kids/families.

I did however see the animated sequel(?), done by WB animation, which makes sense, since even then as a kid, it reminded me of all the 2000's animated Scooby Doo Movies, like Legend of the Vampire, or Monster of Mexico.

I was one of the ones who actually watched it in theatres expected a funny talking kangaroo movie. I remember being disappointed and feeling ripped off back then even though I was like 7 and had no concept of what being ripped off was

It presents an obvious fact as a surprising twist, thus subverting the audience's expectations and achieving the apex of modern comedy. Further, the malapropism of "sunned glasses" rather than "sunglasses" presents a quirky and unique attitude on the part of the poster, creating intrigue and establishing him as an unpredictable and engaging protagonist.
    It's a truly flawless post.

The hallucination scene in this. https://youtu.be/wgVN33-ykiM w o u l d be a "Big Lipped Alligator Moment" if it weren't for the fact they used it in marketing.
