This. Splitting up your biggest ratings night of the week has never helped any network gain viewers. It's quite literally over for broadcast television.
If anything this is a good thing. People under the age of 50 simply do not watch Network TV anymore. The only thing keeping the numbers up is live sports.
Three.
Decade 1 (10)
Decade 2 (20)
Decade 3 (30) - currently 21, but as 21 does not belong to Decade 2, it therefore proves the existence of Decade 3 as an entity BEFORE IT IS COMPLETED AT 10 YEARS TIME...
Family guy Kinowatcher here. Family guy, while always good at seasons 1-7, hit its absolute peak at seasons 8-13. Every single episode is on point and hilarious. The characters have found their modern grove and have plenty to work with. Season 8 starts with a banger at Road to the Multiverse, and it continues on flawlessly and hits a near flawless high at season 9 episode 1, "And then there were fewer", which is the first HD episode. The kino streak continues uninterupted until season 14 episode 2, the B story with Tiny Tom Cruise. At that point, a small crack just became visible. However, the kino continues. "Peternormal Activity", "The Peanut Butter Kid", "An App a Day" are just a few examples. After this, we start to get more 4th wall breaking episodes that treat Family Guy like a vehicle for the writers to mess around instead of a story driven experience that follows the family. Examples are "Inside Family Guy", "Emmy-Winning Episode", "Three Directors", "You Can't Handle the Booth!", etc. The passing of Adam West and Carrie Fisher reall harmed the series as well. Angela and Mayor West were crucial characters and their replacements have been less than stellar.
I'm not sure why Principal Shepard is so involved in the recent seasons. He used to be more akin to Doctor Hartman, a side character that would appear every few episodes for a scene or two. I think he works better as a side character, his dedicated episode where he's homeless is not terrible but a little meh. Although I do like the librarian lady that they brought back all the way from season 4.
Any particular gems from the last few seasons? What do you think the worst episodes are? I don't get actual FG discussion often so I have to snatch it up while I can
"Hot Shots", "Carter and Tricia", "The Finer Strings", "Dearly Deported", "Nanny Goats", "Veteran Guy", "HTTPete", "The Unkindest Cut", "Big Trouble in Little Quahog", "Con Heiress", "Hefty Shades of Gray", "Island Adventure", "Yacht Rocky", "Connie's Celica", "Undergrounded", "The Movement", "Stewie's First Word", "Customer of the Week"
I need to watch the most recent seasons again to grab some others, but this is a random list from season 15 on that I remember being pretty good.
At a glance, some of the standouts from the last few seasons include Cutawayland, Customer of the Week, And Then There's Fraud, and The Munchurian Candidate,
It directly corresponds with Principal Lewis becoming popular in American Dad. In fact, they started to run hard as Shepard as Lewis-lite fairly quickly.
They'll get accused of being Trumpist collaborators if they point out he's a mummy or assert that anything he says is anything less than authoritative and powerful yet sympathetic
who watches televsion?
who watches fricking family guy? You don't have laundry to watch spin in the machine? You don't have a bucket of paint and a fricking wall?
Maybe now but Friday was always the “go to the movies/mall/downtown or get a drink with your friends house party” night only old people are home on Friday nights
Used to be a good slot in the 90s with TGIF and stuff , but then it became the place where a lot of good shows went and died. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friday_night_death_slot
Why is American Dad so consistent while Family Guy isn't? Seth stopped writing for both years ago and there's been a bit of crossover in the teams. But American Dad is relatively consistently a 7-8/10
because the characters are not NEARLY as fladerized as they are in family guy. They changed from the beginning but when they found their niche they stayed there. Roger became the outlet for the writers to change things if they wanted. Its really a genius idea that they came up with as it protects the rest of the cast
This is the death knell for all tv shows, RIP family guy.
This. Splitting up your biggest ratings night of the week has never helped any network gain viewers. It's quite literally over for broadcast television.

can you explain why when I watch recent episodes the fricking principal character keeps interrupting scenes to do nothing
what is the joke

Tiny Tom Cruise was funnier than Angela ever was
Good analysis, fren.
Good point.
Trust the plan. Trust the funds.
Good.
Have day done any Biden joke yet?

Disney just want you to sub to Disney+, Family Guy isn't going anywhere
Leaving your Sunday time slot for mid-week is like a bullet in the back of your ratings' head.
It ended the second Lois stopped being hot.
>lois

GODcine Smith brutally mogs her any day of the week.

Hey Glen.

checked. I watched the last episode hat aired yesterday and it was fricking terrible. Not a single laugh...Plus
is correct. The Black folk voice for clevland is so bad it jarring.
Least it isn't in the Friday death slots, you see them put it on Friday you know the show is RIP
Wouldn't Friday be the liveliest slot? Everybody gets off work and goes home to watch TV
>Everybody gets off work and goes home to watch TV
maybe 20 years ago.
Maybe now but Friday was always the “go to the movies/mall/downtown or get a drink with your friends house party” night only old people are home on Friday nights

I like that block because I can just DVR all the schlop and flick through
I'll say it. I never cared for Family Guy
