The book is okay but I honestly feel like there are cleaner ways to do "The fantastic four go on campy adventures without their kids around" than to have Reed accidentally teleport them into the shadow realm for a year and the entire team just stop caring about the kids for whatever reason, as it is now, it feels like someone trying to deal with editorial mandate for a kidless f4 for whatever reason.

The "reason" is that kids ruin everything, both in fiction and in real life. Wanna make your characters go on fun adventures? Too bad they have to stay in the same place because of Jr school starting in a few days... No wonder the big 2 love status quo so much, just imagine if Batman married Catwoman and had biological kids besides that murderous gremlin ninja.
