>The film will be set in a retro future inspired 1960's and take place in a separate universe from the main MCU.
>The F4 will be an established celebrity superhero team when we meet them in the beginning of the film.
>While the entire team has a large focus, Sue will act as the point of view character for the audience
>At some point towards the end of the first act, Galactus will invade earth and capture Sue. Forcing her to become his new herald.
>The rest of the movie is a cosmic road trip following Reed, Ben and Johnny embarking on an adventure to rescue her. Interspersed with scenes of Sue grappling with the possiblity of never seeing her family again.
>One of the film's major subplots will revolve around Reed and Sue's marriage.
>Reed seems like he will have the most significant character arc over the course of the film, while Johnny will have the most significant character moments.
>Disney and Marvel are putting a ton of money behind this as the film will now likely act as their biggest blockbuster of 2025. As the chances of Kang Dynasty even coming out that year anymore is up in the air.

This obsession with the F4 and the 60's is pretty weird. Is the whole family thing considered to be outdated by people? If so that's sad.
Their origin only makes sense during the space race. Ben and Reed are lesser character if they aren't WWII vets. The book was very topical, specially during Kirby's tenure. They also peaked back then, only getting remotely similar levels of popularity under Byrne.
tbh i would like it only cos i want to see them dressed up in their 60s aesthetic, and in a jack kirby like setting before theyre thrown into the modern world, plus skip the origin part
Family is still a pretty popular topic. Just look at the Fast & Furious movies. Doing impossible and ridiculous things with cars for the sake of family.
>Is the whole family thing considered to be outdated by people?
Years of liberal propaganda have brainwashed people into thinking the nuclear family is evil and to push chemical castration on children
Fantastic Four aren’t a nuclear family though. They aren’t even a properly related family unlike say the Incredibles. Their entire shtick was being a group of randos that forged a bond by virtue of getting powers in the same freak accident which is something that modern progressives are totally cool with.
It's because modern woke writers want modern times to resemble the mid-late diversity doo-wop 60s. They all fear the hippie era that followed like the plague
>doo-wop
>50s
>nuclear family and Leave It To Beaver "good ol' days" nostalgia
This is all shit conservatives push, dumbass. The liberals push for the hippie shit, which WAS the mid-late 60s, and ended with the Manson murders in '69.
Jesus Christ, read a fricking book, watch a movie, watch the news. ANYTHING. You don't know shit about the present or past, your opinion is less than worthless.
>This obsession with the F4 and the 60's is pretty weird. Is the whole family thing considered to be outdated by people?
To be fair, a lot of tropes they pioneered in the comics have been beaten into the ground by the MCU
>Sue wank
Trash
>Margot Robbie wank
I'll allow it
She's Sue?
Holy shit, double trash.
>hating on Barbie
frick you too
So it’s not going to be in the MCU. Why even make it, then? Did we really need two alternate universe Reed Richards before we get one in the MCU?
probably because they're only going to come into play during secret wars when universes collide.
I don't like it but I also don't hate it. If this "leak" is even true it kind of makes Secret Wars feel more grand. Instead of just involving the main MCU, some what if characters and fox verse characters.
That sounds really bad
Alright call me a shill but I actually love this. As an FF fan this actually feels like it might actually respect the entire team. I was weary at first about the rumors of Sue being the main character from a few months ago. But with the context of this it actually feels like it could work. Sucks though that it's just Strom Rising but with Sue instead of Johnny.
>Fantastic Four but actually Fantastic Three for most of the movie
That's like making a Super Mario Bros. movie that separates the Mario brothers for most of-Oh. Wait.
Sounds like a bloated CGI/VFX nightmare akin to Quantumania (aka the worst kind & Sue becoming some sort of variation of Malice right from the get go feels really weird).
I mean, let's face it, hack Feige & his corporate yes men ain't never ever beatin' the magic & pure innocence of Oley Sassone's bootleg '94 FF film. It had no technological advantages of today, sure, but that's not what is important - it had a pretty coherent story with great internal study of heroes & villains (I especially dug the precious time they spent with Doom & Ben, showing how these men deal with scars behind the new flesh), plenty of heart, emotional resonance, pain & truth that was very much in tact with the vision of Jack Kirby's early FF comics (& the soundtrack was spectacular).
I've seen the potential cast roster for the new FF & while some of the actors have proved themselves in other films, it fills me with doubt regarding how they could inject any semblance of warmth, charisma & joy into what sounds like a pretty joyless murky CGI nightmare of a Hollywood product.
If anything, the leaks make it sound like Josh Trank's Fant4stic all over again only now with more zany visuals & cooky 1960's flavor added on top of what reads like an already convoluted storyline for a new debut/reboot of the already struggling franchise.
Also, maybe they should've attempted doing something unusual with more underrated FF villains like Diablo, Puppet Master, Mole Man or the concept of the Frightful Four (as a direct parallel to Fantastic Four, like the inverted side of the same coin).
While I've got nothing against a proper cinematic treatment of Galactus & his heralds (+ Silver Surfer), trying to unload them for the very first film in the franchise feels like an overkill & lacks a build-up momentum that they could've used down the line to raise the stakes & create an intrigue around what might await the team in their next film outing.
This will never happen but I really hope they make the Thing practical again. I want Ben to feel like he's actually there and not a stupid cgi character.
say what you will about the 2000s FF movies but Thing was unironically one of the best parts of them
why couldn’t you have had them just be superheroes from the 60’s that got trapped in the quantum realm
Because the Marvel Studios brand is afraid of taking such risks (they did a test runtwith Ant-Man 3 & it failed miserably). The Quantum Realm or the Negative Zone - are def. not the settings that the general audience wants to see in a Marvel film any time soon.
that wasn’t even why ant-man 3 was bad. the poor cgi could’ve been excused if the screenplay wasn’t complete shit defected by a rick & morty writer.
There is no way this is true since Sue (a woman) is captured and isnt the one who beats Galactus on her own.
Okay but where's the most important information - who is getting race/gender swapped this time and what to?
The current rumor is that some black guy who does musicals is playing Ben while the rest of the cast is staying white.
>Galactic but no Surfer
>Time travel shenanigans but no Doom
I will take even the most mid F4 movie at this point but the plot sounds pretty strange if its true.
Another bad adaptation to firmly cement "The Fantastic Four" as a dated concept, even as a fan of the series it is very clear that Marvel's willing incompetence with the series comes from a hatred of what they represent.
>dated
I think the mid-2000s cartoon did a good enough job at modernizing FF without losing the essence, so it's not the concept that's dated. It's Hollywood hacks are hacks.
What the frick does "most significant character moments" mean?
the flash in theaters june 16
the den of nerds are a bunch of homosexuals
>and take place in a separate universe from the main MCU
Fantastic four can never work as live action
>Sue is a Damsel in distress
no way
I wouldn't mind if this was a Spy Kids movie instead
Come up with better "leaks" next time
FINALLY we get some strong, female empowerment in a Marvel movie.
sounds like made up bs, you guys aren't even trying anymore
That sounds awful and bloated.
Are they getting rid of Major or reduce the character's relevance at least?
I dreamed that Marvel would one day have the rights back but Disney came along and ruined everything, again.
The plot, even if it's a fanfic, isn't bad, but Sue's image won't work if Kevin Feige chooses for the thousandth time an actress without ass and hips that androgenic female look they put in the MCU in phase 4, and as everyone saw it was a disaster.
The biggest certainty I have is that Feige will come back with a disastrous cast, especially when it comes to Sue. Feige's hatred for women with Alice Eve's body type scares me.
>Doesn't care about the quality of the actors and only if the actress has big tittys and an ass
Based
MCU ain't doing shit until after the strikes are over. Now actors are joining in so all hollywood that's not animated is fricked.
>Nobody in Hollywood learns anything from FF's last failing with Trank
