it really is astonishing how wide the range of quality of star trek episodes is. in pretty much any season you'll have some of the best tv ever and some of the worst tv ever.

i always found it strange they were all unified. perfectly reasonable position but you would think there would be plenty of volunteers from a 1000+ crew. also i like how janeway and crew have no problem with the demon planet aliens copying them even though that was way more fricked up

Pulaski was just more of the transporter stuff that originated in McCoy. Plus she was generally bigoted about non-traditional lifeforms.

The most optimistic part of Star Trek was the assumption that any white cultures would actually still exist in the future.
