I don’t self insert nor am I gay. I just prefer them. I always thought they were cooler but they always got the short ends of the stick in cartoons and anime. Especially in anime. I think animes the reason I get turned off of liking MCs. Same with Cinemaphile.
At least video games have some cool ones.

It's hard for me to say because these sort of images are always extremely surface-level. So for instance one thing I like is the cheerful character-grumpy character dynamic, but it isn't like one making the other's life hell or bully-tsundere bullshit. More like they have more to them than just that (happy character has limits, grumpy character isn't just grumpy) and they'd trust each other with their lives sort of thing. Same thing with the serious guy-silly girl couple, have the serious guy not always be right and deep down have the same humor as the silly girl. More believable dynamics like that are what I'm working on.

Thanks anon, they're the dynamics for two duos of characters I've had since I was a kid (the first is platonic, the second is romantic). My only worry is that people judge them for the surface level stuff and dismiss it before giving it an honest try.
