Can't be bothered. *turns to Steve* And he's only been on holiday!
>And he's only been on holiday!
Karl has never said that, casual.
And he gets Monday's off! Conning the management baybaaay!
takes takes takes, destroyed a man
If I have to listen to another fricking film review...
Make fun of the other two main Abrahamic religions Ricky I dare you.
>average london citizen
Thank Jesus I don't live in a brown town
>Globohomosexual jester
>Attacking anyone else but Christians
lol when i was a little kid morons tried to hit me with the classic "YEAH BUT WHY AREN'T YOU CRITICIZING ISLAM AND JUDAISM AS MUCH AS YOU'RE CRITICIZING CHRISTIANITY"
and i'd simply say "well i grew up in america dealing with christians so i b***h about christians" their heads would explode
As a Brit he grew up dealing with Muslims. I mean "Asians". Why doesn't he ever deal with them?
>As a Brit he grew up dealing with Muslims.
In 1960s/'70s Reading?
He spent most of his adult life in London, which is under 50% white
It's 53% white at last check, and was 93% white when he moved there.
When you think that half of those white aren't even English or British but Eastern Europeans, London the Capitol city of a country called England, of the "English" LMAO.
>When you think that half of those white aren't even English or British but Eastern Europeans
There very many Muslim Poles?
No he didn't, he grew up in Reading in the 60s,70s and 80s. Muslims/ Islam wasn't an issue until after 2001 and became significantly worse with the Iraq war invasion of 2003, then 2005 July 7/7/ London bombings. Ricky's formative years are surrounded by white working class English.
this doesn't work now because mudslimes are everywhere in the west
especially london (even in the 80s and 90s when Ricky grew up)
because the answer is obvious, people are afraid to make fun of islam because of the threat to their life for doing so, christians aren't going to respond violently for making fun of their religion
His skull fell off
>something’s said..
Mr. Exorcist
A baby, what had a baby.
Do bongs really talk like this?
I don't think all Bongs do, put people from Manchester do apparently.
Have you never heard an Oasis song?
That's a Ricky line though
Well he was mimicking Karl.
Karl says it normally
>A baby that had a baby
That's because Karl is a professional on air.
Oh deary me
At least Karl doesn't go home to his mam and dad when he has a cold.
HE'S DONE YOU
oasis was never really popular here
>ages ago right
How long?
17th century
Oh quite topical then
literally ages ago
>THEERE'S this Hare CHIIIIIIIINEEEEEEESSEEEEE KID

Philip Bailey has never made so much royalties being featured in a racist game show!
It's the most convoluted, ridiculous, RACIST, piece of material ever to be uttered on radio!
Play it again!
>if it's anything about Chinese people Philip Bailey will be involved
Oi it's my job to post this in KP threads, you've gone mental!
I know you’re just 16, but looking all 21
That’s
BECAUSE
Chiiiiiiiiiiineeeeeeessseeee
LOOK
Oldeeeer
>all I do is listen to a 20 year old radio show and repeat quotes from 3 has-beens
Pathetic.
I also like The Catholic Guy show since Lino & Tyler have a dynamic like Ricky and Karl
the show doesn't have a Steve though
is it actually good? In my experience Catholic content is a painfully mediocre ghetto. Like that Australian guy
it's very good. they make fun of how bad most religious content is
>all I do is listen to a 20 year old radio show and repeat quotes from 3 has-beens
(Gigachad.PNG)
>a throwaway saturday afternoon radio show from a small radio station 20+ years ago gets millions of streams
I'm a big fan but it still seems so odd to me
the chemistry hasn't been topped
Almost like people want real comedy and not the safe PC Twitter comedy we've been getting since 2012
It's because it's actually funny and good radio to drive with than boring ass shit you get today
Where are you listening to them?
That's just using YouTube numbers. Each of Man Moth's episodes are over 1,000,000,000 streams each and there are dozens.
No, I meant as in, Is there a place to listen to all eps?
is Karl autistic? not even taking the piss. i'm not referring to his general naivety, but the way his mind seems to organise thoughts doesn't seem very neurotypical. other details (mentioned being averse to 'unpleasant' noises, had zero commitment at school but was computer-savvy as a kid in the 80's, devoted himself to radio production as his "special interest", neatness freak about his house) also point to him possibly being on the spectrum.
I also believe he's 10 years younger than his siblings. Older parents are pretty strongly correlated with autistic/ADHD children.
He could be, they hadn't invented autism when he was a kid so he wouldn't know
well yeah and that's probably why a lot of people go "oh wait he's right and ricky is just a c**t who is misunderstanding him" and steve is a gay
Is there an artistic medium this Godless atheist hasn't defiled? I guess when you renounce God the devil will give you everything in pursuit of destroying the Kingdom of Heaven.
>Matthew 4:8-10
>Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, "All these things I will give You if You fall down and worship me."
>Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.'".
>the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain
Why did he choose and exceedingly high mountain.
Surely a fairly high hilltop would have been enough?
Gonna cry?
>Even the Kingdom of the Conga innit.
Black person most people on earth disagree about religion you're gonna have to get over it
DON'T CALL ME A PLONKER YOU FFFFFFFCKN WNKER

A'right lads, what's your favourite xfm moment?
>That should be interesting for meatballs
>I know your just 16 but looking all of 21 that's because the Chinese look older
Bros, I think I just got a 15 min temp bad for quoting one of Karl's Songs of Phrase clues...
the show is unironically a perfect way to illustrate how the world used to look at gays/trannies/other races.
Nothing too offensive, just honest opinions.
This gets you banned now.
wheelchair tennis
Wonderful Tonight - that song about the little crippled fella in a wheelchair.
steve's train story
karl's train story
Honestly, horse in the house story.
It's the moment I fell in love with the show and it's too perfect.
THE GLEEM!
Them giving away The Best Air Guitar Album in the World Ever Vol II for the 67th time
Ricky mentioning steve's glasses touching his eyes had me in shambles for a good couple of minutes
One of the times you can tell Spud is genuinely hurt
Yeeeeeeeeeeeah
Have you got a ruler, Rick?
That was devious by Ricky. Karl had just done him live on air again and Ricky joined in
KARL HAS WON!
which episode was this? i haven't been able to find it again

Karls date with cancer woman
>I mean what's the point spending money on her an that if she's just gonna die on me-
OOOHHH, GOD!
Either the horse in the house story or Karl's vacation with Susan and her parents
Mine is Karl repeatedly fricking up the questions the listeners send in to quiz Ricky and Steve
It's a peak comfy episode
>amthurst
For me, it's do we need 'em.
is it true wienerroaches have 18 knees
>you'll still kep your job 'n that
he's a good looking fella so you'll be appy
I love the radio show but I honestly hate how the people who listen to it 1000 times have to list every little argument and use it as proof that they hate each other.
I have listened to the show Christ knows how any times, but the only time they've been on bad terms is like S038-4X.
When you look at the webcam footage that is available, Karl seems genuinely happy most of the time.
>S038-4X.
S02E38-4X***

Well it doesn't help that they haven't spoken to each other in ten years
>Never mind your shitpost, where have you been for ten years?!
The podcast came after the radio show, as well as an idiot abroad.
And pretty sure Steve just recently talked about Karl and that they were alright with each other.
Ricky however seems to dislike Steve for whatever reason, but they were certainly friends during the radio show.
>Ricky however seems to dislike Steve for whatever reason, but they were certainly friends during the radio show.
Outgrew each other after Life's Too Short, innit
>they were certainly friends during the radio show.
They weren't really, outside of work Ricky hung out with Karl more than Steve, probably because they both had girlfriends so they could double-date.
In fact some of the funniest moments of the show is Steve quietly seething about Ricky not inviting him places - the David Bowie concert being a particular highlight./
>They weren't really
Clearly they were.
They went to pub quizzes, had pints with each other, and had good chemistry during the show.
>some of the funniest moments of the show is Steve quietly seething about Ricky not inviting him places
true, but this shit is common.
Sure their friendship wasn't flawless but is anyone's?
They were pals with some some issues like everyone else.
>no webcam footage of karl being forced to eat grapes or hamburgers
GET ONE IN AT LEAST
I GOTA BE ABLE TO 'THEW
Why is thr XFM show so much more kino than the podcasts? The podcasts should be better in theory because they can do and say whatever the frick they want. I'm not even saying their other stuff is bad but the radio show is on its own level
Many of the best moments come from them being flustered and panicky because they're actually trying to operate a proper show on a shitty budget.
The fact that they can't just say whatever they want makes it even funnier, like when Ricky does his Ho-Lee-Fuk impression and Karl gets worried.
It's similar to how Clarkson/May/Hammond were much better on the BBC's shitty shoestring budget than when Bezos gave them a blank cheque to do whatever the frick they wanted.
The radio show is better because it's shoddy
The podcast is too polished.
There is no "oh the ads aren't working" or buttplug calls on the podcast.
Though I wonder what someone who listened to the podcast first thinks.
I think I first got introduced to it through the animated show. I started looking up clips on YouTube thereafter and got hooked. XFM is comfortably better than the TV show which I barely remember.
>Let's grow ourselves a big, lanky, goggle- eyed freak of a son
OOH DAS LANKY PISSENSTREAK
Because you need some limitations in order to thrive
The podcast was trying to recreate the spontaneity of live radio, but in a controlled environment with professional editing (right down to recycling old annecdotes from the radio). Half of the fun of the XFM show was the stuff created by the format; Ricky and Steve winding up Karl by trying to get him in trouble with the senior producers, the shit prizes donated by various sponsors that they had to give away, calling listeners/listeners calling in for different segments, various day-to-day inconveniences like someone going on holiday or getting ill, etc. You don't get that with the podcasts
Chaos is the best form of comedy, on the radio show everything goes out live so every little frickup as their little tinpot studio literally falls apart around them goes out for everyone to enjoy
Off the cuff is always better because its more organic
The podcasts are scripted in a loose sense. Karl retells stories from the XFM show and Ricky and Steve pretend to have not heard them before
>Karl retells stories from the XFM show and Ricky and Steve pretend to have not heard them before
I hate this about the podcasts, I can't watch them.
I don't like Karl in a film and songs of phrase
>Karl in a film
Agreed, except for the Christmas Carol one where he shouts 'Garlic bread!' at the end
>songs of phrase
I've never heard such twaddle. You're a fool, you're a twat - play a record.

>shall I wrap... them?
>Them?
>It. IT. Shall I wrap...?
>Just wrap... whateveritissss.....
>Do you want to look?
>NO! I'm not looking while you're putting it in the bag, please!
The part where they're reading criticism of their show and Steve is referred to as a character along with the likes of Ho Lee Fuk. "I'm not a character!" Steve is general is very funny.
bid lin
>Post an ACTUAL underrated moment
the bit on one of the claire sturgess episodes where they talk about the innovations catalog and the porcelain dolls
>call your family and tell them it's a girl
I'm glad that this 20+ year old tin pot radio show is still so beloved by many to the point that it even has an active community on a site like this in 2023
imagine how mad ricky and steve must be that all their finely tuned and written and produced output isn't as impactful as something they did as a joke on rainy saturday afternoon in 2002.
He's done you again! Play a record
Alright lads its time to settle this once and for all
The 50p argument
Who was right?
Maybe the only based Reddit moment ever was the time r/rickygervais started posting karl and steve arguments/discussions on r/aita
Karl was right but Steve should have been given his 50p.
To be upset over 50p is insane.
>its tinging its way up the tube

Please provide some 00s radio pre PC kino like xfm
Opie and Anthony, though you have to listen like 100 hours before you can get everything
Ron and Fez, though you have to losten like 1000 hours before you can get everything
The Ricky Gervais Show Guide to... English. Science. The Future etc. are very funny since it's all about Karl. Merchant and Gervais are very hit or miss
Remember when Karl took 20 minutes to wash up a plate when Suzanne was away
IM A KPeanut
Steve having been put in the back to look less weird
>You're muscly.
What do you do in this situation, Cinemaphile?
How come Ricky went from doing the Office to a sunday afternoon radio show?
Him and Steve did the show before The Office but had to operate it all themselves
Then they returned after S1 of the show but then got given a producer to make it easier for them...and history was made.
He started off on XFM pre-Office, when he was just a jobbing C4 comedian, and it took a little while for The Office to catch on in a big way after the first series (it was really the DVD release that catapulted it into a mega success)
