What a moronic post. The only way a sitcom can age poorly is if all its jokes are extremely topical and only understandable if you are familiar with the pop culture of the day. Thats not the case with community or most sitcoms. Youre trying way to hard, please end your worthless existence
>The only way a sitcom can age poorly is if all its jokes are extremely topical and only understandable if you are familiar with the pop culture of the day
Explaining why you are wrong isnt getting mad or going on a rant. The trying to hard would be the attitude displayed not the effort put into your post. You are am embarrassing individual
Whats the point then? I can understand Chevy but if the other two aren't coming back don't bother. They're just doing it for the same of a meme, and a bad meme at that. There's nothing a show like this can gain from a movie.
Every time he promotes Atlanta he does some interview where he says shit like that. It's a way of him pandering to black people who just see him as nerdy.

Litterally in any every single one of his post-community interviews he states that he dislikes being on a show that lables him has a black nerd, because "bLaCks CaNt Be NeRdY" and must be ghetto. He states this all the time when he promotes Atlanta in his interviews. You can look these interviews up on Youtube. There's many. I personally don't give a shit if he's in the movie. He wasn't even a "nerd" in the show, he was a manbaby.
In all his songs he sings about being ok with being nerdy and that all blacks shouldn't just have gangsters and drug dealers to look up to. Even has a whole stand up routine where he embraces his nerdy side as well.

A lot of black actors, artists, and comedians who play "softer" characters early in their careers often regret it later on as they feel they're emasculating their culture or something, so then the pendulum swings in the other direction and they become pretentious moral crusader dipshits

Not after community. His music and his humor changed to be more "pro-black culture". Dude made an entire journal about how he hates how blacks look at him as nerdy and never went back:
He wants nigglets to look at him the same they way they look at all the other black men in their lives: ghetto and moronic.

Clearly you've never read his "why I left community" shit. He didn't like how he was portrayed as nerdy in his comedy and shows and defaulted to BIX NOOD MUFFGAA bull shit that plagues the Blacks like cancer.

>on fricking Peawiener (what even is that?) >no Troy, even though Donald Glover said he'd be up for it in that reunion stream they did
No wait, it's over before it even started. Webm related is my reaction.
The team wants him, his fans want him, but he's stated many times: "Ayo bix nood, dat white shit is bee neef me" *smacks lips* "so Imma do rap and atlanta n shiet".
He gave up after being labled as a black nerd, but his former coworkers want to bring him back in.
Times have chang'ed, there isn't really the audience for it, and it wouldn't be coming from the same place. If it happened at all it will be a disappointing 90 minutes dumped on hulu or something.
Community was the most watched show on Netflix, Hulu, and Peawiener for a long time. If Stranger things brings in 2.2mil viewers and community was able to top that for 2 years during the pandemic, that's not a small audience.
If Harmon is smart he'll get at least a cameo from Chase. I can live without Brown since Shirley was always the odd one out of the study group
But they couldn't get Glover? Dude....
Have the people not returning been confirmed as specifically *out* or were they not confirmed in the press release as *in*? Because it's not unlikely that there are ongoing negotiations/things they want to keep a surprise.
I really doubt Donald is actually out. With Atlanta ending and his musical persona so well established I get the sense that he's ready to revisit Community. Plus, the dude clearly has a sense of legacy and significance, and he must realize that Community is like *the* cult sitcom of his generation.
Yeah but it's being written by non-depressed, non-fat, non-alcoholic, happily married, post-Trump, post-Harmontown, post-#meetoo'd, semi-retired woodworker Harmon
Dude drink alcohol more than water. Shit fricks you up. He's 49 and looks 15 years older than my parents, who are 55+. My dad doesn't even have grey hair and Harmon is rocking a full silver set.
He looks a lot healthier than he did 2 years ago, watching the behind the scenes videos for season 4 of Rick & Morty, he looked like he was about to drop dead.
>dan harmon should bring back his long time friend that never left the series, did several voice overs in all his projects and drinks with him all the time
I really enjoyed Elroy, there were several bright spots in that last season
On my first watch I didn't like Elroy all that much until the wedding episode, and then he ends up leaving in the first 5 minutes of the next one which is the finale. So now whenever I rewatch S6 I always try to make sure I properly appreciate Elroy
They'll get everyone back, even if it's just for a 5 second cameo shot on a phone from their house. Everyone will still love it and that'll be the end of it.
>Series creator Dan Harmon is writing the film with former series scribe Andrew Guest (whose credits include fan-favourite episodes "Advanced Dungeons & Dragons" and "A Fistful of Paintballs").

It didn't actually, because the whole joke is still that blackface is bad. The studio just pre-emptively pulled it from streaming after George Floyd cause they expected there to be some backlash, but then literally everyone complained about it being taken down since it's one of the best and most important episodes of the show

I picked up the blu rays, but didn't know about the edit till a coworker was talking about watching the series and I brought up the D&D episode and he was like "wtf are you talking about?"
Yeah the only streaming service that didn't remove the episode is Amazon. Hulu, Peawiener, Netflix, etc... all removed it for "muh gerg flrrrd". It wasn't even racist, it was a joke.
What happened with Ted Danson's incident is just fricking odd. It was proper full-on minstrel show style blackface. Even back then it was over the line, but his girlfriend Whoopi Goldberg defended him and his career somehow continued as normal >Danson experienced negative press attention on October 8, 1993, after his appearance wearing blackface at a Friars Club comedy roast in honor of Goldberg, and for using a plethora of racist slurs. Later, Goldberg defended the sketch, explaining that she had helped write much of the material and referred Danson to the makeup artist who painted his face as a societal critique.
>twitter gays happy that Chevy isn't in and worrying about Shirley
I just know this won't reach the heights of the first two seasons.
Pierce is a top 3 character. There was like 2 good Shirley-centric plotlines in the whole show.
if Chevy isn't involved I'm not interested
Oh no, a moron isnt interested in my movie
Anyway...
Yeah, me too.
In before Cinemaphile tries to act like they don't like this show.
>the community threads during its initial run were what drew me to Cinemaphile in the first place
with some notable exceptions, all sitcoms aged terribly and Community is no exception
With age S6 is now my favorite season on rewatch.
What a moronic post. The only way a sitcom can age poorly is if all its jokes are extremely topical and only understandable if you are familiar with the pop culture of the day. Thats not the case with community or most sitcoms. Youre trying way to hard, please end your worthless existence

No. I've just finished rewatching the whole thing a week ago (except the gas leak season). You're wrong. It's still fantastic. Especially now.
So where will this land? Netflix? Prime?
oh, peawiener

Yvette is in wtf did you not read any articles?

not in
So it's just Pudi, the withered coked-out corpse of Joel McHale, the prostitutes, and hopefully Magnitude
still sounds kino
Not having Troy and Abed together again is soulless.
>Pop pop

>Brown quit
Oh god are we going to get even more of that old woman? Keith David better stay
>In response to the news, Brown tweeted: “It’s happening! Congrats, #Community fans! You guys did this!”
Maybe she'll make a cameo?
lol Yvette thinks she’s above this. I guess her character died from diabetes like every other fat black woman.
In her defense, it's not like they were gonna give her much to do
>Brown
Does she have a problem with Harmon or something?
Literally on her Twitter she's talking about it right now and has been tagging it for her profile.
So is she in it or not. Its not like she has any other work
According to her Twitter feed she is. Her fans are excited.
>Her fans
Wtf
I can't tell either. She isn't tagged, and she seems to be just acknowledging the fans getting what they wanted. No "I am so excited to be in this" .
Whats the point then? I can understand Chevy but if the other two aren't coming back don't bother. They're just doing it for the same of a meme, and a bad meme at that. There's nothing a show like this can gain from a movie.

Peawiener is NBCs streaming app. NBC owns Community.
>without Donald Glover
Then why was he @'d in the tweet?!
The team wants him, his fans want him, but he's stated many times: "Ayo bix nood, dat white shit is bee neef me" *smacks lips* "so Imma do rap and atlanta n shiet".
He gave up after being labled as a black nerd, but his former coworkers want to bring him back in.

So three people? Not that big of a deal.
🙁
Community was the most watched show on Netflix, Hulu, and Peawiener for a long time. If Stranger things brings in 2.2mil viewers and community was able to top that for 2 years during the pandemic, that's not a small audience.
Who needs Pierce or Troy or Shirley when we have Frankie!
They fulfilled the prophecy but at what cost?
If Harmon is smart he'll get at least a cameo from Chase. I can live without Brown since Shirley was always the odd one out of the study group
But they couldn't get Glover? Dude....
I can't even remember why Dong Lover quit Community. Something about depreshun
Nah, he was touring as Childish Gambino and then was making Atlanta when Season 6 was being filmed, he was literally too busy to film a sitcom.
Atlanta is ending and Childish Gambino is old hat now so he really shouldn't have as many scheduling conflicts these days.
I need peace in the world of community. Have Pierce return at the end having faked his death and reconcile.
Plus, the dude clearly has a sense of legacy and significance, and he must realize that Community is like *the* cult sitcom of his generation.
they're just not confirmed in. Joel is an executive producer and tagged donald glover, so it's probably just negotiations.
Yeah but it's being written by non-depressed, non-fat, non-alcoholic, happily married, post-Trump, post-Harmontown, post-#meetoo'd, semi-retired woodworker Harmon
This man isn't even 50. Damn.

uh, they were married for like a year according to my googling. I think she just used him.
No, the new one who cast herself to be played by Anna Kendrick on Dummy. Maybe they're still only engaged...
tbh if we don't get Troy back then they should at least try and bring Keith David as Elroy back
>dan harmon should bring back his long time friend that never left the series, did several voice overs in all his projects and drinks with him all the time
I've met this dude, he's nice.
I bet he is, he's Keith fricking David.
