The entire movie was pure Kino. I do wonder if one day we will ever see anything quite like it, the 90s future Sci fi always seemed to be very comfy for the most part. What I am shocked at is it hasn't been remade and ruined yet.

      >World building and visuals are fantastic
      >Weird mix of sci fi and mystical
      >Great creature design
      >Great cast
      >Fun villain
      >Doesn't require a sequel or additional installments
      >Practical effects with limited CGI (which was decent for the time)
It was lightning in a bottle

I suggest the game Mischief Makers, might be a coincidence because they came out at the same time but its music sounds extremely inspired by Fifth Element, it has some similar vibes, characters and a future space setting

Very cool gameplay with counters and stuff

I'm reminded more of Jak & Daxter given the designs of the Modachiwans and the mystic meets tech shit

As long as they keep throwing away money on capeshit and capeshit-adjacent shit (disney wars), there will never be any good new sc-fi/fantasy movies.

Blue cat alien people aside, Cameron still has it in him after thirty years.
Avatar is worth a rewatch every few years, but the second one not so much.
Battle Angel Alita was really good, and similar to Fifth Element, thrust us into a future of cyborgs, aliens, beautiful visuals, and a bit of love.
Granted, it used the born hot yesterday trope too, but it was still good.

no, it isn't because you will not remember. It's just two hours that will be a blank in your mind like you got general anaesthetic. You could do anything else in that time and there's a chance you'd enjoy it and remember it, or make money that you can spend later, etc

I wrote a book and screenplay for a scifi film inspired by the fifth element. Be on the lookout for it next year when it's published. The screenplay was a finalist in a few major Hollywood screenplay competitions

          >Maïwenn met film director Luc Besson when she was 12 and he was 29, and they began dating when she was 15. In January 1993, at age 16, she gave birth to their daughter Shanna. On the DVD extras for the 1994 film Léon: The Professional, Maïwenn said the film is based on her relationship with Besson (hence the deleted sex scene).

You would think lefties would pity her? No because she assaulted a lefty journalist in a restaurant (pulled his hair and spit on his face) without any remorse and offered Johnny Depp a role in her movie.

I am not advocating for banging kids.
It is truly astonishing just how many moronic Americans there are when it comes to laws.
I live in the US, and people are fricking moronic monkeys here.
You'll have some California moron mad and wanting the death penalty for a guy in Georgia that shot someone who came onto his property and lit his house on fire.
The CA moron thinks the GA guy committed a crime for killing him, even though it is entirely legal to shoot someone that is on your property committing a felony. In GA.
            Laws vary by state.
I am not so stupid as to think that other fricking countries have different ages that are legal to frick.
Even in the US, the ages vary.
Florida says that 16 is legal to frick if you are over the age of 18. You can't marry them, as they are below the age of legal adult, but you can frick them. In some states, it is 16, or 17, or 18 to legally frick them.
There is no upper age limit, merely the age at which you can have sex as an adult with a "minor", male or female is irrelevant.
In France, 15 is legal to frick.
In contrast, you can't buy a firearm as an adult in France without months or years of paperwork and waiting.
Point being is that if you are fricking idiot and don't understand these sorts of things, you deserve to be exterminated.
Laws are not the same worldwide.
            Or, even countrywide.
There is a city in Georgia where you are legally required to own a firearm before you can buy a house there.
The crime rate in that city is extremely low. There's been one murder in the last 40 years. A hitchhiker killed the guy who picked him up and stole his car. That was back in the late 80s if I remember correctly.

It's basically live-action anime, to the mute waifu, the badass guy, the gay caricature, the setting, the plot, the story beats, character types, all of it. It's only when you're not actually adapting one, when you nail anime in movie form.

      >Modoshawans are an alien race that created The Perfect Being, a weapon to fight evil
      >Evil Incarnate forms every 5000 years, heads to earth, and wishes to spread death/chaos to every corner of existence thanks to the temple serving as a conduit
      >The Fifth Element is love, and personified in the perfect being that is Leeloo
      >Her plus the 4 stones representing the fundamental elements that create life are used to temporarily destroy the evil every 5000 years
      >In the early 1940s they visit earth to take the stones because WWII is coming, and they fear the stones are in danger
      >Return when the evil is forming as promised

So basically Earth has a reset button they need to hit every 5000 years to ensure everyone else in the universe is safe

I never understood people's fascination with Audie Murphy.
Many years back, I got an invite for an interview to join the Audie Murphy club.
I was floored, and a bit suspicious, as what I knew about the man was that he was addicted to heroin and fricked little kids.
I never showed, and got a bad counseling and shunned by many senior enlisted.
I mean, sure, he did a lot of crazy shit, but he was high as a fricking kite and didn't feel pain because he had so much heroin and speed in his veins.
I truly thought I was being pranked and did not realize that he was seen as a hero as much as he is.

More heroin than meth, but yeah. He was injured early in his career, and back then the Army was more interested in your fighting ability than whether or not you were blasted out of your mind. Murphy couldn't feel the flames and was so insane that the ammo he was dumping on the enemy and his madman state of mind terrified them.
