and here I am, a european, currently deciding 70+ cubic meter apartment with 2 rooms, a build-in kitchen, bath, cellar, garden and carport for 500 euro I should take
It's a joke/novelty. In a city like Seattle it looks like almost all good 1 bedroom apartments are about 2000 USD a month.
I'm an old fart and my rent used to be 500/month in 2005 on a 1 bedroom apartment in a flyover city. Where do you live, Chechnya? I'm skeptical that a nice euro flat can be had for less than 1000 euro/m
yeah, probably. I lived abroad for a while but it was in central Italy 20 years ago.
Back then Euros paid less for rent even in cool cities. Their gas was 3-5x more than the USA, cars were 2x more for even the shittiest Fiat...except for Used Cars which were laughably cheap. You guys all paid this outrageous V.A.T on goods that made your taxation system extremely regressive. Your college was free, your health care cost an extra 10% in taxes compared to US. Comparing western Europe to America the continentals seemed to have it more reasonably priced but not by much.
Here in the USA we have larger houses and cars but everyone has debt because loans are inexpensive and white people spend like drunk sailors when the stock market goes up and the mortgage rate is low.
It really depends what town/country we are talking about there are massive differences between central/eastern europe and something like netherlands or germany.
I live in central yurop and my cousin is moving with his friend to a house (yes house not flat) for 600 €/month. Two bedrooms, living room, all the appliances and shit is already there.
Meanwhile Im planning to buy a 30+ square meters sometimes in early 2025 and my monthly mortgage payment will be like 360€/m. I have 1300€ wage and I finished university just last year
I guess that's kind of the case in America. In NYC a studio apartment is $3500/m RENT. In a midwestern city you can buy a nice house for $350,000. In the country/small towns you can buy a 1500 sqft house from the 1960s for $95,000.
I live in the posh suburbs of a midwestern city in a nice but modest house worth $350,000. I'm solidly white collar middle class.
>nice euro flat can be had for less than 1000 euro/m
I'm from Spain and I can rent two flats for that, in some zones even three, and for a little less than that I can rent a whole house.
Even in summer, right next to the coast, two months I can get a whole house too with swimming pool for 2500 euros, and mind you, those are tourist prices, adapted to foreign economies so they are above our wages.
500 eur would get you an apartment in Tokyo nowadays
unfortunately there's a good chance it will have been built before they worked out what earthquake protection is
euros are unironically obsessed with americans, they've been waiting almost a quarter millenium for the american experiment to fail so they are culturally preparing for an enormous, smug 'i told you so.' i'm a fricking leaf btw, inb4 mutt.

>I live 40 kilometres away from my country's biggest city, in 45 minutes I drive to the most direct station, I take the train and the subway and I'm at my workplace.
That's called intermodal commuting and you can do that in most large US cities for that amount of time.
That's how you would commute into a nice white collar job in San Francisco or NYC or Chicago. It's 45 minutes from a house in jersey to the train station to end up in manhattan.
yeah i wonder if anyone has the screenshot of that chink saying it was 'White privilege' to complain about sharing a room because lots of people do that back home

Property taxes pay for city and county services like roads and public schools. It seems fair- that way my taxes on my house pay for the school down the street not some ghetto school in a different city.
Oh and FYI to the foreigners here: Monday morning Americans have to pay their yearly income tax.
I consider school taxes unjust ever since the supreme court ruled illegal alien children are entitled to a free public school education. So hundreds of thousands of little gremlins get dumped here and immediately get everything for free and in order to pay for that my property taxes double every 5 years. How is that sustainable or 'fair'?

It is nice, and cheap. I just think you have to have serious personality or mental issues to not want to live in a white run country and I genuinely don't mean that in a /misc/ way. Once you stay around all brown people for an extended time I feel like my quality of life is greatly diminished. I've been to about 9 different countries and I felt it in every one after 48 hours. America sucks for a lot of reasons, but every place and government isn't being run by the guy that should be running a laundromat or food cart.

One being that they can't even keep their neighbors safe from thieves or crazies. I've never had to worry about delivered items being stolen from my porch here for instance. Or walked into a store where everything was locked behind a cabinet. Or where cars can't be parked outside because they'll just get broken into. Maybe I just live in a good neighborhood but these are generally things I've never heard anyone complain about. Meanwhile the internet is fast and the healthcare is affordable.
But you're probably right not to want to live here, the best neighborhoods are the ones with mostly local Thais and the fewest foreigners. It's probably better if it stays this way.

what's the matter Cinemaphile don't you want to larp as living in The Wire? I grew up minutes from these houses, they're not worth a fricking dollar because all your neighbors are the blackest of the blacks that will rob and murder you in a matter of days, and everyone knows it which is why they've been trying to give these things away for years.
their intention is to have the citizens take and fix them, corporations actually have to pay more than $1. The problem is Black folk. If you build anything nice it will be destroyed in no time and everyone knows it.
This shit is probably my future, that's what I get for having no skills other than driving. If I was a professional I would move to a small town and set up shop there, I fricking hate the city
I like how the pods are not even in some futuristic large pod wall in a cyberpunk environment but just in some regular studio apartment.
Its like they want people to be as miserable as possible even though that would mean be less productive and have less kids ergo less consumers
Its like the riches became so psycho and sadistics they know most people dont even need luxury in their lives and would be ok with a normal house

America sucks for a lot of reasons, but every place and government isn't being run by the guy that should be running a laundromat or food cart.
>America sucks for a lot of reasons
I’m over 6 feet and white. I’ve never worried about safety anywhere, it doesn’t factor in for me. I grew up in Baltimore and never had issues.
>Baltimore
Sounds classy. Why would you have issues?
I doubt your height has any bearing on whether someone breaks into your car at night, doofus.
lol there's a reason you didn't say thailand in the original post
I've been there. It's a great place to visit for 72 hours, you'd have to be a literally mentally ill child predator to want to live there surrounded by single digit iq monkey people
Doesn't sound like you ventured anywhere outside tourist zones. I'm happier here than I ever was anywhere else.
>lol there's a reason you didn't say thailand in the original post
I immediately answered when someone asked, you're acting like I'm trying to hide anything when no one else ITT has said where they are.
utterly disgusting and tasteless dwelling
>1/3 the price
What's the catch?
Paying rent to a Cinemaphilener
Is he at least a cute femboy..?
Cameras in all the toilets and all neighbors are brown and smell like curry 24/7
what's the matter Cinemaphile don't you want to larp as living in The Wire? I grew up minutes from these houses, they're not worth a fricking dollar because all your neighbors are the blackest of the blacks that will rob and murder you in a matter of days, and everyone knows it which is why they've been trying to give these things away for years.
I’d buy these homes, if the city gave me a loan to demolish and build a new neighborhood
Why don’t they let civilians take things into their own hands anymore?
Like I’d literally do it for free but they won’t let me fix their shithole ghetto neighborhoods
TLDR I’d play sim city but irl
their intention is to have the citizens take and fix them, corporations actually have to pay more than $1. The problem is Black folk. If you build anything nice it will be destroyed in no time and everyone knows it.
I would beat the shit out of whoever bought these for rentals if I ever met them.
you vill leben ze pod
>amazon hq
Don't feel bad it's all jeets living like this. They deserve this.
This shit is probably my future, that's what I get for having no skills other than driving. If I was a professional I would move to a small town and set up shop there, I fricking hate the city
I'm hoping someone will adapt Ubik so we can get glorious pay-to-use household items on the silver screen.
