Really any movie that revolves around a misunderstanding. The more absurd of a comedy, the more acceptable it is, but in anything even attempting to be realistic it's annoying as frick.
>Every Coen movie, and they're all kino.
That's another exception because Coen bro movies are almost always about what happens when high minded idiots are afoot in the world.
This is different because these movies are about how the characters are conniving but they're not smart. In Fargo they address this in the opening scene so we don't have to roll our eyes at the plan. We know Jerry is such an idiot his plan is called out by another idiot.
I dunno, I think there is a difference between an "idiot plot" and a story about idiots if you see what I mean.
An idiot plot, I think, means that the idiocy is contrived in order to drive the plot forward. The characters are normal functioning adults who, for whatever reason, unaccountably act like idiots occasionally in order to keep the movie going.
If the people are shown to be idiots in all facets of life all the time, they are just idiots.
>films that utilize this!?
all the new star wars films, especially image related action would've been brilliant strike as an opening move, but when Holdo kept it for last the entire fleet was lost for no gain at all
The resistance is nearly wiped out because the FO caught onto their plan >The plan relied on the FO ot checking their scanners for escape ships during a pursuit >The FO only caught onto their plan because the hacker they employed tipped them off >They employed the wrong hacker because they got arrested for a parking violation >They only went on the mission because their general wouldn't tell anyone the plan, leading to a mutiny >They only escaped in the first place because the FO chose to fire on a stationary evacuated base rather than a fleeing command ship
The entire movie is a comedy of errors
It's almost as if Holdo was intentionally trying to decimate their forces just so she could give a gay little speak about hope and change.
That's also the only way that shit could possibly have made anything make any kind of sense, if she were exposed as some kind of sleeper agent working for the Empire. The same applies to Kathleen Kennedy herself in terms of decimating the Star Wars IP.
Apparently some Bollywood movie had those montages of characters walking alongside trains while looking somber or some shit so these pajeets HAD to replicate it.
Not only that but one person goes alone into the duct, and the black man refused to use the flamethrower on the creature because it MIGHT have burned the other b***h when the alien could have run to the right or left after getting singed
Only one person went into the duct because there was only ONE passageway /route they could follow. Dallas was closing passageways BEHIND him in an effort to make sure the Alien couldn't get past him as he cornered it. Having another person there wouldn't have helped at all.
Almost none of you actually understand what this concept actually is, and are mistaking ignorance for stupidity. Like how is Alien an "idiot plot"? Because you have hindsight?
>let's bring an unknown, likely dangerous, alien organism on board of our ship!
Except the rule forbid it and Ripley is enforcing those rules. Ash breaks the rules, and that's not stupidity he's following orders to collect a sample of the alien.
This. Alien in particular exposes the ignorance here.
They make a lot of good and perfectly rational decisions. This is only the most obvious:
>let's bring an unknown, likely dangerous, alien organism on board of our ship!
Except the rule forbid it and Ripley is enforcing those rules. Ash breaks the rules, and that's not stupidity he's following orders to collect a sample of the alien.
>nothing stupid about them setting down on company orders in the first place. >nothing stupid about them exploring derelict that had been sitting there forever >nothing even stupid about John Hurt looking into alien egg when he's wearing a space helmet >Ash lies and manipulates them after that whenever they turn to him for science/medical advice
As soon as it's let in they're dealing with shit that's getting rapidly out of control in unpredictable ways, like a tiny alien growing into a giant armour-plated killing machine overnight.
>let's bring an unknown, likely dangerous, alien organism on board of our ship!
Except the rule forbid it and Ripley is enforcing those rules. Ash breaks the rules, and that's not stupidity he's following orders to collect a sample of the alien.

Yes, Alien is never in a million years an idiot plot.
If only CURRENT YEAR morons went to the same level of effort. They just do moronic shit like, "Well it's a fictional story about aliens, so I can just make up whatever bullshit I want."
Titanic. >gays think a ship is unsinkable when it's made of iron >go steaming around the Atlantic filled with icebergs at top speed like idiots >don't have enough lifeboats for passenger capacity
Totally took me out of the movie. So unrealistic. Writers think the audience is stupid.

Every Coen movie, and they're all kino.
That’s true Marge gunderson is one of the few that isn’t an idiot
Neither is Llewellyn Moss or Anton Chigurgh.

its all about being able to maintain acceleration

missed the critical key word again.. constant acceleration

Everyone on the ship would've died.
>Everyone on the ship would've died.
load a single-seat fighter to brim with hyperfuel and use it as a capital ship torpedo
Arigato for your input Yamamoto-sama.
Has an very low chance of working and even if worked it would've caused small damage due to the ship's size.
>due to the ship's size.
is actually completely immaterial because we're not doing kinetic damage with our mass but by annihilation event
>it's one in a million
>ok, how many ships and droids do we got? lets get 1 million of each if it means winning every conflict forever
>it's one in a million

Dumb and Dumber
I'm actually angry that it took so long for someone to name this one

Definitely this. Almost every single death in this show is caused by severe moronation and easily preventable.

12 Angry Men
Season 4 of justified, I think that's when the Crowe family shows up.
That's season 5. I'm on it right now. It's hilarious how stupid everyone in the show is, but that's what makes it kino
The stupidity kinda worked until the plot got more elaborate. Just kinda got exhausting after a while, maybe binging was a mistake.
shonen anime
Why
Apparently some Bollywood movie had those montages of characters walking alongside trains while looking somber or some shit so these pajeets HAD to replicate it.
Are pajeets worse than black people?
Unironically yes. The only group worse is abbos
You'll never guess where abbos migrated from
What movie are these morons trying to copy?
It definitely wasn't Trainspotting, I can tell you that.
The Prestige
Eveything on Alien happened because an idiot put his face on an alien egg for the lulz.
