Pretty much this, Scott and Emma make a better couple. I'd actually be happy if they locked Scott, Logan, Emma and Jean in a room with a couples therapist and they all leave realizing Scott and Emma are better and Jean can frick Wolverine before she inevitably dies again or is tired or Wolverines constant being on every team at once.
Too much Wolverine. Yeah its in the title but shows dont gotta adhere to their titles to such a degree. Half the characters pictured there get no episodes or play second-fiddle to Logan. Theres like 6 episodes dealing with Wolvie's past which is so fricking original.

Anon, not sure if you were even alive back then, but the marketing for the show was trash. I remember the first teaser we got had a logo that was basically WOLVERINE andthexmen.
Wolverine was literally three times the size of the tiny "and the X-Men" next to it. The forums went crazy in a bad way, and they never used that logo again. It's basically been scrubbed from the internet, I spent the last 10 minutes googling and can't find the promo pic with it.
People assumed it would be a Wolverine and Pals cartoon, and then the actual show turned out to be pretty well-balanced and okay overall. Polarizing at the time but history has been kind to it. I remember being angry they turned Gambit into a complete scumbag lmao

Which one is it?
It's almost like this is a matter of taste and not objective fact. If you want a lot of Wolverine, the show might not have had enough. If you want very little Wolverine, the show had too much.
To many characters who feel like they get to little of focus, it's hurt by the fact that it's a wolverine show first and X-Men show second. Better then the 90's show not as good as evolution.
Evolution just understood the vibes better than any other X adaptation. It focuses on mutant hate like any adaptation shouls. However it understood that a core thing to X-Men is the relationship among the team. They really do feel like friends and family in that one instead of just coworkers who be gradually work together.
It does better to cut to the heart of what the X-Men are, while also doing better at the things that are important to cartoons, such as animation and streamlined designs. The 90s cartoon was just ugly retreads of stories better told by the comics.
Wolverine was pushed so hard it was too easy to notice. He's one of my favorite characters but even the shill comics magazines like Wizard were annoyed by how many places Wolverine appeared in.
I'm annoyed by Wolverine's oversaturation and being put on other Marvel teams for the hell of it, but how is Wolverine being on the X-Men a complaint? That's like getting annoyed that Iron Man is a fixture on the Avengers, Doctor Strange and the Defenders, or Rocket and the Guardians.
The top billing is just so blatant it's near exploitation. Imagine if TMNT would make a show called Michaelangelo and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. or what about Batman and the Justice League???

Fair enough.

Questionable character choices like Polaris being a meek daddy's girl, Scarlet Witch being a Magneto supporter, Quicksilver and Domino leading the Brotherhood. Storm is also just kinda there.
They brought back Jean instead of letting Scott get over her and score with Emma Frost.

Or Wolverine realizing he's all about the chase and immediately cheating on Jean with Domino or someone.
Too much Wolverine focus, even though it's in the name so you'd probably expect it. Other than that it's actually a very well written show
Choppy editing, ugly artstyle, slap together plot and questionable casting in voices
>Choppy editing, ugly artstyle
I would gladly take that over the new 97 shit

What the is so good about Evolution that Cinemaphile obsesses over it.
Better animation, more appealing artstyle, tighter writing focus on a good amount of characters not too many and well casted.
Its closer to the Bryan Singer movies in terms of tone and costumes.
But the Bryan Singer movies weren’t good.

teenage girls
Wolverine getting top billing
The comic book made much more sense as Wolverine went out and lead a different team of X-Men.
Wolverine was pushed so hard it was too easy to notice. He's one of my favorite characters but even the shill comics magazines like Wizard were annoyed by how many places Wolverine appeared in.
>Wolverine and Friends
>Wolverine
There, found it.
Disliking a character getting MC focus and oversaturation is one thing. Hes an Xman keep him there but don't make it The Wolverine Hour.
Fair enough.
The top billing is just so blatant it's near exploitation. Imagine if TMNT would make a show called Michaelangelo and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. or what about Batman and the Justice League???

Any girl that isn’t Emmas’ haircut.
No season 2.
and not enough Mommy Mold
>Xavier: I WANT THAT FUTURE
Wolverine shouldn't be the main character. Other than that, it was very good.
I prefer this Shadowcat honestly. I also prefer calling her Shadowcat as supposed to Kitty.
Questionable character choices like Polaris being a meek daddy's girl, Scarlet Witch being a Magneto supporter, Quicksilver and Domino leading the Brotherhood. Storm is also just kinda there.
>Find a flaw
Lack of cheesecake
Design is pretty bad especially in women
Shit action scenes, cringe animation style
Cringe teenager drama
didn't like what they did with Cyclops in this show.
Wasn't it basically Post-Phoenix Saga Cyclops meets Post-Here Comes Tomorrow Cyclops?
