I feel like Fionna is kind of mean/indifferent towards Simon despite the fact that her entire universe relies on him. Her and Cake feel surprisingly flat so far(although it works for Cake, she’s great), so their team dynamic feels goofy and mostly inconsequential so far, it’s kind of just like the two of them lightly bullying him all the time. That isn’t bad per se but I hope they get fleshed out more in the later episodes

I thought winter king figured how to game the crown a hundred years before Finn and Jakes time, and that’s why they weren’t present? Because winter kingdom to them is what the candy kingdom is to the main timeline variants.
As for Marcy, maybe she died as a child cause Simon wasn’t able to protect her? Something had to have been the catalyst for him to focus on figuring out how to work the crown rather than just accepting he’s going crazy like main timeline Simon did.
I don't think Marcy died as a child, since she has the guitar turned into a bass which only happened as a teenager. It is possible she died before she could become a vampire though, and Winter King just made ice Marcy a kid because that's the age he likes the most for her.

Hunson didn't feel neglected to me. He lived in a different dimension so he wasn't just some regular cast member that could visit whenever he wanted, especially as whenever he's on Ooo he tries to suck out people's souls which is obviously a problem. Flame King's personality, how he interacted with his daughter and the type of evil he is was also very different to Hunson as well.

Finn's real dad was also a villain, just a different type (petty scoundrel). PB's closest thing to a father figure was also evil (Uncle Gumbald). One of Jake's bio dads was evil (Shapeshifting alien dude). Ice King was sort of Neptr's dad and he was also kinda evil at the time. Lemonhope was essentially one of Lemongrab's kids and Lemongrab was pretty evil as well. Bronwyn's dad was a landlord. Adventure Time just liked playing around with the "evil dads" trope and the angst that comes from it.

He was very eager to have her in his life (albeit by forcing her to follow in his footsteps) in the s4 two-parter. After that he probably realised he didn't want to lose all connection to his daughter, so his transition into being an overly-supportive and embarrassing father makes sense to me.
I dunno Hunson for me is one of the more consistently funny characters across his appearances. What about him do you think was Flanderised?
He's menancing, serious and manipulative in his first and second appearances. He absolutely knows what he's doing and expects his daughter to just blindly agree. He's an evil buissnesman not a guy that is clowning around, he just walked in a funny way that one time.

He was pretty goofy in that first episode, singing his ant soul sucking song nd the interactions with his victims. In the context of actually trying to a be an engaged, supportive dad, I can see him being a bit cringe and overbearing.
Yeah but he was playing with his prey that was beneath him. Being smug, evil, sarcastic and cocky in regards to mortals is different than being socially inept and dumb even during the flashback. And when it came to Marceline, he acted like a very formal and stodgy person that tries and fails his hardest to be hip, chill and funny.
Hunson was estranged from Marceline at the start. That's why he was acting so aloof. Hunson & Marcy is the first time we see Hunson actually make an effort to be a supportive dad. Even in the flashback he was trying, in his own way. It's a different dynamic than we had seen before. I feel like people are too quick to judge characters as being OOC when we've only seen them in very limited contexts prior. If there were multple episodes of Hunson being a super serious evil guy, then sure, but even in those first couple of episodes he was pretty silly. My two cents.

Different personalities affect how he does the voice. OG Finn was still light-hearted and fun, and that reflected in his voice sounding younger. Farmworld Finn was jaded and serious.
Watched episode 5. It was just half an hour of meandering when we probably would've been better served learning how everyone survived the apocalypse at the end of Jake The Dog and about how Farmworld Finn's been handling his mental state after Crossover.

It isn't, GOLB didn't delete the magic since the crown could still be used to make wishes, he just reduced it to an earlier state before it made the Evergreen wish.

Apparently when the Farmworld reality got created, prime Ooo gained some of Farmworld Finn's skills, specifically of note the flute proficiency. I guess its because for a short period of time prime Finn WAS Farmworld Finn until Jake made his wish and separated the two characters returning Finn back to Ooo but leaving Farmworld as an alternate universe.
I think it was the episode "Crossover" that has a scene something along the lines of

one interesting bit of Themes I've noticed is the show mediating on the concept of fanfiction. Fionna & Cake's universe is an "unsanctioned" one derivative of a preexisting universe, like even with the semi-retconned origin (a retcon that I bet was planned before the OG show ended, see "Fionna and Cake and Fionna") still qualifies as fanfiction. The characters are being hunted down essentially for being fanfic characters that have crossed over into canon, whose very presence is corrupting things.
The various universe so far have also embodied various fanfiction AU premises. Fionna & Cake's world, on top of the genderbent AU premise, is now also a coffeeshop AU. The Winter King's universe was a roleswap AU. Farmworld doesn't quite cleanly fit this theme, but it's also grandfathered in from the OG show. Heck, even the main universe is post-end of the show timeskip, itself a common fanfic narritive

The series just feels like writer’s depression, how everything advances while Simon can’t. I can already tell the series will end with Simon never getting to be back as ice king, and instead, accepting he’s not capable enough to recover the magic. Probably in the later episodes he realizes how miserable every ice king is/how shitty every ice king is, and that recovering the crown isn’t going to fix his problems.

I always found it kinda weird that the Lich never went there ever considering it was the biggest bomb dropped.

It's noticeably not a mushroom cloud, which is interesting.
Theory: Farmworld Finn married that worlds Fire Princess who built the flamethrower arm for him. That Finn may also have a metal plate on his skull , so maybe he was knocked out cold. It would also explain why he would still wear the hat.
