I don't just mean beating up goons this episode. She's strangely abrasive. Rude, impatient, brash, impulsive and above all selfish. What she said at the end of EP6 suggests she's gonna do some self reflection and maybe go on a little hero's journey to grow a conscience, but it's still a weird spot she's starting from.
Let's keep in mind that we're only about halfway through the show, and Fionna is already starting to have doubts about her capabilities and her actions.
Consider also that Fionna's true world lacks actual solid substance--if it can one day be a magical Ooo ripoff, and the very next day be a coffeeshop AU with everyone's memories seemingly reset, then Fionna has very likely not had any real chance to reflect on herself. The only learning opportunity she's ever had has been outside of her world.

I don't mind it. Running show must be hella stressful, so I'm glad Pen was humble enough to step down so he could recuperate and focus on projects he was more passionate about. Midnight Gospel was cool. Muto's run isn't that bad anyway
That was already true during the original run. Pen stepped down as showrunner about halfway through season 5, stayed on as a writer until about halfway through season 7.
Pen was great. His sense of humour permeated the first few seasons, and he advocated hard to bring on indie comic artists whom CN were sceptical of hiring. The range of strong, independent, creative voices is what defined adventure time. Muto was great because he placed more emphasis on long term character progression and broader thematic ideas across seasons. Mind you, that was also pushed by other writers.

Ok this as a concept is insane and awesome. My idea was because Ice king is technically the elemental of Ice what if by freeing himself of his curse it went to the next elemental i.e princess bubblegum. He's less evil and more apathetically indifferent because to rid himself of the curse he had to rid himself of things like love the thing that specifically was connected to his madness. Would also be interesting way for him to go back mad or be broken, like he keeps ice marcy in her room because he loves her but getting to connect brings back his madness.

Covid really fricked up my brain because I can't even imagine what kind of plot they have planned for the ending, the only thing I know is: whatever it is, it's going to be totall shit. If simon becomes Ice King again all of his plot and development throughout the series will be in vain; if he stays as Simon he'll be depressed as hell and will most likely commit sudoku in the future. The only possible happy ending for Simon is if Betty comes back somehow - or Simon falls into a coma and get to live with normal Betty in the normal world in his head, but that would be a bad ending for Fionna. Real Betty will never come back because no signs of this happened have been shown so far.

It's a sequel series. I guess you could probably watch it without watching the original first, but you'd get more out of Fionna and Cake if you watched Adventure Time first. The new show makes a lot of references to the original and the lore in it. There's a possibility you might be confused by some aspects like the cosmic entities and Prismo, as well, since the show does go on the assumption that you've seen the original.

Let's keep in mind that we're only about halfway through the show, and Fionna is already starting to have doubts about her capabilities and her actions.
Consider also that Fionna's true world lacks actual solid substance--if it can one day be a magical Ooo ripoff, and the very next day be a coffeeshop AU with everyone's memories seemingly reset, then Fionna has very likely not had any real chance to reflect on herself. The only learning opportunity she's ever had has been outside of her world.

The range of strong, independent, creative voices is what defined adventure time. Ok this as a concept is insane and awesome. My idea was because Ice king is technically the elemental of Ice what if by freeing himself of his curse it went to the next elemental i.e princess bubblegum. He's less evil and more apathetically indifferent because to rid himself of the curse he had to rid himself of things like love the thing that specifically was connected to his madness. Would also be interesting way for him to go back mad or be broken, like he keeps ice marcy in her room because he loves her but getting to connect brings back his madness.

If simon becomes Ice King again all of his plot and development throughout the series will be in vain; if he stays as Simon he'll be depressed as hell and will most likely commit sudoku in the future. The only possible happy ending for Simon is if Betty comes back somehow - or Simon falls into a coma and get to live with normal Betty in the normal world in his head, but that would be a bad ending for Fionna. Real Betty will never come back because no signs of this happened have been shown so far.

It's a sequel series. I guess you could probably watch it without watching the original first, but you'd get more out of Fionna and Cake if you watched Adventure Time first. The new show makes a lot of references to the original and the lore in it. There's a possibility you might be confused by some aspects like the cosmic entities and Prismo, as well, since the show does go on the assumption that you've seen the original.
