Too be fair from the color in the vampire King's eyes it looked like the Crown had more of an effect than it seemed at first glance. Maybe he went mad after all and since Marceline isn't one to plan or organize she probably didn't realize they'd run out of food at the rate they were hunting living beings.
The blood hunger trumps your logical mind. Only finding a way to reliably feed keeps it at bay, and a lot of that takes too much focus to be able to do while also needing to feed. The only ones who could maintain a larger-scale mindset due to willpower would probably be Vampire King (who happens to be spending all his energy fighting the madness of the crown) and Marceline/The Star, who just does not care and just wants to watch everything burn.
Marceline still being like 17-19 in the Star universe implies that the Vampire King didn't immediately turn her into a vampire when she was still just a kid and waited until she at least grew up.
Happy or bittersweet. Either way, it'll probably end at DBG's bar with him hanging with nu humans, Marceline, and his other friends (whether that also includes Fionna due to some crazy ass universal collision or something is up in the air) as the cheers theme closes the season
He's not gonna die if that's what you're thinking. Reminder that Fionna's world literally exists inside his head. Simon dies then her world dies too, and they are not gonna end the series with mass genocide, it's not Star VS.
My ideal ending would be Simon realizes he had a worthwile life back home and he's wasting Betty's sacrifice by hurting himself, so he returns, hugs Marceline and moves on. Fionna already realized she's a piece of shit and should be fine going back to her normal life and fricking male HW. Maybe cosmic magic makes it so that Fionna's world is exactly the same but Cake can walk and talk, but nobody in the universe cares about it.
But knowing how weird AT time is, chances are the ending is some wild shit like Simon fusing with Betty Glob and both make a less creepy eldritch god. That or he becomes Ice King again but not completely insane

All the Fiona and Cake adventures seen on the show were thought of by Betty after she had become Golb. In the finale, when Ice King manages to remove the crown from Betty, he is imagining Fiona. I believe that Betty came up with the Fiona and Cake stories based on her time in Ooo and sent them to the Ice King's mind, planning to have him fall in love with Fiona. His affection for Fiona allows him to remove the crown from Betty, thus saving Ooo.
The red beam that enters Ice King's mind at the end of Fiona and Cake and Fiona was sent from Betty/Golb. At some point during this 'broadcasting', the stories are picked up on by some TVs, and are eventually discovered by the Fiona-imposter. She describes Fiona and Cake to Ice King as 'an old TV show.'
I'm thinking maybe in one reality, (a la how in one reality Finn needed to become the Finn sword in order to bring back Prismo) Golb is not stopped in its destruction, and still merges with Betty. As Golb, Betty comes to realization the Ice King was always way more into Finn than her, which is why Fiona is a female counterpart to Finn.
Does this make sense? Is it plausible? I've always wondered what the source of that red beam was, and I think this is a pretty cool possibility.

Vampireworld PB is focused on killing all vampires, but if you read between the lines there's some sexual tension considering her and Star!Marceline haven't killed each other despite having multiple chances.
It’s a clear inversion of PB’s matriarch status in the other universes. She gets angry at seeing Fionna with baby Finn because the vampire world is so dangerous. We know Bonnibels are compelled to create life, so this is truly a low point for her since her scientific nature doesn’t allow her to succumb to delusions of safety or hope.

Fanfic anon here. About to try to make the Sagas of Billy. What should I include? Was thinking about writing it in the style of the Prose Edda or various other Nordic Sagas, only twisted with MadMaxisms to fit the post-apocalyptic theme. I really want to focus on the journeys Billy had in his near 1000 year old life (potentially), his relation to Candy Kingdom, and his final war against the Lich before he encased him in amber. Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated.
That woild definitely work. Especially if he was optimistic but a bit more hardened from his environment in his early years, when the Lich and the Vampires were very active. Could have that unreliable narrator trope where the story's being written by the "Acolyte of Billy" attempting to chronicle all of his exploits. Unfortunately daid acolyte didn't develop the same mutations as Billy that allowed for a longer life, and so his job would be past down to others with their own unique pov of Billy. Like you know how an encyclopedia is written by multiple authors throughout the years. Sometimes some go back and make "corrections" to the article given newfound evidence.

You can still get pretty close to the line since they've eased up in some ways, but at a certain point the site still penalizes you or the original poster for breaking its pretty arbitrary rules. At its peak in the early to mid-2010s, people would post both tasteful and loose nudes of themselves just to share it since it had something anonymous about the site. Like, there would be blogs where people would just submit their best attempt nudes to boost their own confidence or would share pretty spicy stories about their lives like this one (whether they were true or fictional) just because they didn't have to put themselves out as much.
It's still really good for audio stuff though. But it's still got a ways to go to get back to what was lost, unless I'm missing something recently with any new updates.
I imagine adult Finn is probably strong enough to take down the Island Guardian by himself. I'm also willing to bet that he's strong enough to solo the vampire king without breaking a sweat, considering how he effortlessly killed that fish monster with a stake the size of a fricking tree trunk, and wrestled a giant bear to the ground and killed it with his bare hands.

That might be true but it's hard to believe he didn't butt heads with or interact with VK and his vampires. Lich in OG universe had almost channeled the israeliteels into the enchiridion to make all cosmic imagination from that place negative energy, thus, ruling the world with an undead horde.
The Lich in this world doesn't exactly have a lot of competition if Billy is out of the picture. In OG, it was implied he had deestroyed other kingdoms completely to obtain their gems from their crowned royalty. Only civilizations that seemed to stand the test of time and were mentioned in conjunction with Billy was the Candy Kingdom and Wizard City. Two extremely powerful societies that don't even seem to exist in Vampireworld.
Vampire World Lich is just hanging out. The Vampires are doing a good enough job cleaning up life for him and when it gets to the point they run out and start starving he'll stroll in and close up shop.
Was the Lich ever that patient that he would allow a similarly aligned evil faction to do his bidding? I mean the Lich is technically against all life. This could include vampires and all mutated variants. I don't think this is a scenario like where his power technically didn't involve BMO and synthetics since in e8 we would've seen Marceline still kicking it. It means the Lich considers Vamps and other form of undead like them still technically alive, right?
Lich is patient as frick and pretty smart. He was willing to work alongside unaffiliated baddies in the prison so him pulling up a chair or picking out stuff in the shadows while a mass vampire problem wipes out life is probably fine with him. Once the vampires do their job, he gets to wipe them out too when they're in the middle of starving to death.
Good point. Still doesn't explain how the world hasn't completely ended by this point. OG Billy lore made it seem like had Billy never entered the picture and stopped the Lich, there wouldn't even be a PB or Marceline of VK. Just a massive unlifed world. Problem is Vampireworld's Billy died and we don't know if he stopped the Lich at all in this one. Assuming both Liches had similar or the exact same plan to end all life via the israeliteels and the enchiridion.
Wolfhard said Finn stopped the Lich + the Lich Hand in every universe, presumably there's some evil vampire Finn we just didn't see (although that doesn't really fit with Martin's dialogue)

Seems like an inconsistency. It would imply vampires butting heads with the Lich's undead hordes if there were an undead Finn but we just don't know if this timeline had synchronized in time. In OGverse, Finn looks like he's in his late-20s, early-30s. Meanwhile Huntress NoWizard looks like she's a teenager or just became 18. Could be that time moves differently in each au? I still hold to the idea that there was no Finn in this universe but the Lich had his plans stalled somehow by vampires being the dominant creatures in the world.
Billy is a weird case as it seemed he dealt with the Lich in OG Ooo later once things started getting more "Ooo like" than "post apocalypse shit". At the same time though it was implied Lich initially showed up from the bomb going off.
Could come up with various explanations as to when Billy trapped Lich or Lich simply being elsewhere out in the world cleaning up remnants hiding from the vampires while that spirals out of control

Possible. Or worlds like the Vampireworld had caused the Lich's plans to need revisions so he decided to let the Vamps handle most of it since they blocked out the sun already. Or they stole or broke some plot critical items needed for him to complete his original plan.

On top of that he hard counters pretty much all of them. Star Marcy trying to give him the SUCC will most likely just rot her to dust and he has no blood for the vampires to feed on (them trying will also probably just make em die). The only caveat is Vampire King and he could just wait him out till he starves if he can't take him directly by that point.

Vampire World Vampire King didn't seem as powerful as the one we knew from Ooo due to less experience. It's hard to tell though as I don't think we learn how he really came about.
Though even if they threw down and Vampire King won, Lich is a pain in the ass and likely came back somehow like he did with Billy at which point he could have went "okay I'll just let them frick themselves over and clean house when the morons finish the heavy lifting and wipe out their own food supply"

I think it's highly likely the VK and the Lich had some sort of encounter. There's no reason not to finish the ritual for the Lich in the Vampireworld. It feels like something forced his hand and made him bide his time while he waited for the vamps to do his work for him even if he could do it faster and more efficiently by himself with not Billy or Finn-equivalent to stop him.

Man PB is such a shit person for someone as sweet as marceline, but she is very smart and probably the only one that understand what is like to live that long so they are stuck together
You have to remember she was probably able to groom Billy and assist him in stopping the Lich. He did bury it in amber and leave the corpse to her. She doesn't let her badside come out in full view around friends and potential allies, but she will attempt to annihilate your entire society (see using Ice King to freeze Fire Kingdom) if she thinks you're a threat. All while keeping a straight face and attending tea parties with the other Princesses. She's very Machievalian as a result of surviving for so long.
We've already seen bits of him, but also Ice King is such a central part of Simon's story (his entire journey so far is trying to become him again) that it's believable he's just there to relate to Simon.
Though a good chance there will be something where Simon and Ice King have a discussion or argument as he confronts his demons or whatever.
I don't want Fionna to return to her world.. I'm loving her adventures with Simon & Cake. Even though this show doesn't really capture the early AT seasons I love, I really hope for a another season I just want more F&C.

For a distant quest giver, he afforded her a lot of trust. He trusted her with the Lich for starters and the gauntlet that would destroy him if anything happened. There might've been more during his war on the Lich as the Candy Kingdom has stood the test of time. So therefore the gem of Candy resides with whoever held the crown. mayhaps PB even used proxies like that one off-mention of Billy saving Cotton Candy Princess.
She's still basically the only competent princess that exists, and I doubt there was anywhere else that could've held the Lich besides her tree. Or at least nowhere else they could easily access.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if Finn asked her to go adventuring with him after Jake died. He's in need of new partners and she was a hell of a tag team with Billy.

Bittersweet is this show's motto. On Fionna and Cake's side, I feel having them have to "suck it up" and adapt to their current world would be such a horrible copout that I'd actually be upset. It's going against the order of this world for something that's not truly better. I do think it's going to be more nuanced than just "we're back in Aaa" again at least. I'm imagining a kind of hybrid world right now.
Simon is a hard one to predict. I really doubt he'd just become Ice King since the only thread that would even tie it is a vague comment from Death one time. I also doubt he's going to die outright, especially since they already put him on that brink end of last episode. The real questions are if he remains normal or changes into some other form, and whether or not he remains some kind of vessel to carry Fionna and Cake's world.

tbdesu, I thing weekly serialized shows also run into the problem of writers structuring each ep to keep viewer retention. It also makes stories with slow and comfy pacing more of a chore to get through because it feels like not much happened every week.
Of course the binge format runs into the opposite problem where getting all eps at once means there's almost no discussion about it.
I like this compromise where 2 eps/week(or 1 ep every 3-4 days) means we get more content to discuss without feeling like anything is dragging on. It lets the writers dedicate more time to character interactions and atmosphere building.
I really like that F&C is taking it's time and not rapid firing through the plot which was a problem with AT a lot of the time.

That woild definitely work. Especially if he was optimistic but a bit more hardened from his environment in his early years, when the Lich and the Vampires were very active. Could have that unreliable narrator trope where the story's being written by the "Acolyte of Billy" attempting to chronicle all of his exploits. Unfortunately daid acolyte didn't develop the same mutations as Billy that allowed for a longer life, and so his job would be past down to others with their own unique pov of Billy. Like you know how an encyclopedia is written by multiple authors throughout the years. Sometimes some go back and make "corrections" to the article given newfound evidence.

You can still get pretty close to the line since they've eased up in some ways, but at a certain point the site still penalizes you or the original poster for breaking its pretty arbitrary rules. At its peak in the early to mid-2010s, people would post both tasteful and loose nudes of themselves just to share it since it had something anonymous about the site. Like, there would be blogs where people would just submit their best attempt nudes to boost their own confidence or would share pretty spicy stories about their lives like this one (whether they were true or fictional) just because they didn't have to put themselves out as much.
It's still really good for audio stuff though. But it's still got a ways to go to get back to what was lost, unless I'm missing something recently with any new updates.

The Lich in this world doesn't exactly have a lot of competition if Billy is out of the picture. In OG, it was implied he had deestroyed other kingdoms completely to obtain their gems from their crowned royalty. Only civilizations that seemed to stand the test of time and were mentioned in conjunction with Billy was the Candy Kingdom and Wizard City. Two extremely powerful societies that don't even seem to exist in Vampireworld.
Vampire World Lich is just hanging out. The Vampires are doing a good enough job cleaning up life for him and when it gets to the point they run out and start starving he'll stroll in and close up shop.
Was the Lich ever that patient that he would allow a similarly aligned evil faction to do his bidding? I mean the Lich is technically against all life. This could include vampires and all mutated variants. I don't think this is a scenario like where his power technically didn't involve BMO and synthetics since in e8 we would've seen Marceline still kicking it. It means the Lich considers Vamps and other form of undead like them still technically alive, right?
Lich is patient as frick and pretty smart. He was willing to work alongside unaffiliated baddies in the prison so him pulling up a chair or picking out stuff in the shadows while a mass vampire problem wipes out life is probably fine with him. Once the vampires do their job, he gets to wipe them out too when they're in the middle of starving to death.

Assuming both Liches had similar or the exact same plan to end all life via the israeliteels and the enchiridion.

Finn or Finn-equivalent. Finn is an eventual reincarnation of the catalyst comet. If Marty and Minerva don't have Finn, he would simply be reincarnated elsewhere, and that person would defeat the Lich.
Seems like an inconsistency. It would imply vampires butting heads with the Lich's undead hordes if there were an undead Finn but we just don't know if this timeline had synchronized in time. In OGverse, Finn looks like he's in his late-20s, early-30s. Meanwhile Huntress NoWizard looks like she's a teenager or just became 18. Could be that time moves differently in each au? I still hold to the idea that there was no Finn in this universe but the Lich had his plans stalled somehow by vampires being the dominant creatures in the world.
Billy is a weird case as it seemed he dealt with the Lich in OG Ooo later once things started getting more "Ooo like" than "post apocalypse shit". At the same time though it was implied Lich initially showed up from the bomb going off.
Could come up with various explanations as to when Billy trapped Lich or Lich simply being elsewhere out in the world cleaning up remnants hiding from the vampires while that spirals out of control
Possible. Or worlds like the Vampireworld had caused the Lich's plans to need revisions so he decided to let the Vamps handle most of it since they blocked out the sun already. Or they stole or broke some plot critical items needed for him to complete his original plan.
I mean from Lich's perspective him just hanging back is the smartest move. They are covering as much if not more ground as he can and he doesn't have to expend any effort. On top of that he hard counters pretty much all of them. Star Marcy trying to give him the SUCC will most likely just rot her to dust and he has no blood for the vampires to feed on (them trying will also probably just make em die). The only caveat is Vampire King and he could just wait him out till he starves if he can't take him directly by that point.

Vampire World Vampire King didn't seem as powerful as the one we knew from Ooo due to less experience. It's hard to tell though as I don't think we learn how he really came about.
Though even if they threw down and Vampire King won, Lich is a pain in the ass and likely came back somehow like he did with Billy at which point he could have went "okay I'll just let them frick themselves over and clean house when the morons finish the heavy lifting and wipe out their own food supply"
I think it's highly likely the VK and the Lich had some sort of encounter. There's no reason not to finish the ritual for the Lich in the Vampireworld. It feels like something forced his hand and made him bide his time while he waited for the vamps to do his work for him even if he could do it faster and more efficiently by himself with not Billy or Finn-equivalent to stop him.

You have to remember she was probably able to groom Billy and assist him in stopping the Lich. He did bury it in amber and leave the corpse to her. She doesn't let her badside come out in full view around friends and potential allies, but she will attempt to annihilate your entire society (see using Ice King to freeze Fire Kingdom) if she thinks you're a threat. All while keeping a straight face and attending tea parties with the other Princesses. She's very Machievalian as a result of surviving for so long.

So therefore the gem of Candy resides with whoever held the crown. mayhaps PB even used proxies like that one off-mention of Billy saving Cotton Candy Princess.
She's still basically the only competent princess that exists, and I doubt there was anywhere else that could've held the Lich besides her tree. Or at least nowhere else they could easily access.

Bittersweet is this show's motto. On Fionna and Cake's side, I feel having them have to "suck it up" and adapt to their current world would be such a horrible copout that I'd actually be upset. It's going against the order of this world for something that's not truly better. I do think it's going to be more nuanced than just "we're back in Aaa" again at least. I'm imagining a kind of hybrid world right now.
Simon is a hard one to predict. I really doubt he'd just become Ice King since the only thread that would even tie it is a vague comment from Death one time. I also doubt he's going to die outright, especially since they already put him on that brink end of last episode. The real questions are if he remains normal or changes into some other form, and whether or not he remains some kind of vessel to carry Fionna and Cake's world.
It’s the fact that FnC’s world isn’t even supposed to be like that. Sucking it up wouldn’t mean accepting her true reality, her reality was created to be a magical one, the boring element is Simon’s influence. If it can be stored somewhere other than Simon’s brain, or allowed to become part of the multiverse, it should be returned to it’s normal state.

tbdesu, I thing weekly serialized shows also run into the problem of writers structuring each ep to keep viewer retention. It also makes stories with slow and comfy pacing more of a chore to get through because it feels like not much happened every week.
Of course the binge format runs into the opposite problem where getting all eps at once means there's almost no discussion about it.
I like this compromise where 2 eps/week(or 1 ep every 3-4 days) means we get more content to discuss without feeling like anything is dragging on. It lets the writers dedicate more time to character interactions and atmosphere building.
I really like that F&C is taking it's time and not rapid firing through the plot which was a problem with AT a lot of the time.
My crack prediction is Simon will get turned back into a child that PB and Marcy adopt and raise into a happy, adventurous son.

it makes sense to dislike him as a cop-out to get rid of the Lich because he is that, but I think he's fine as a character

I’m glad they at least got around that by having the Lich split with multiple versions. So you can have the Sweet Pea plot without sacrificing any concepts with the Lich

it's definitely going to be something along those lines, it will make the F&C universe a "real" universe, but I suspect Simon will become the new Wishmaster, and that chamber we kept seeing will be the inside of Golb's head, and so Simon and Betty will be together forever there and he won't have to become the ice king
