I think they should've let the Ice King and Simon Petrikov (a pun on petrification or being "frozen") fuse into a Doc Green/Professor Hulk type character like they teased in the Elementals Story Arc. That way you can still have the emotional beats without feeling like a copout. Like they could use the winter king to show the best/worst cast scenario of that fusion where as while "King Simon" is a sad old man with a gripe on reality he is still able to grow and love.

Prismo literally explained in the past how The Lich works. He's like a machine in that his entire purpose is to extinguish all life. If he's in a place where he cannot perform even the most basic function of his core programming he just falls dormant, not catatonic but more disassociative and disinterested, as soon when he killed Prismo the first go around.

I enjoyed it all the way through except for The Star episode. That was aimed specifically at an audience I am not part of. Apocalypse AU toxic yuri fanfiction is not for me.
My biggest worry is that they will fail the landing. There's a couple of ways to solve it in a satisfying way, but these writers seem like the type to want to do a shocking ending, so they might pull some crap nobody wants just to be different. If they don't then I'd be happy with the series overall, but I'm bracing myself for the worst.

Watching Fionna & Cake has made me realize that weekly episodes is the best way for a show to come out in terms of Fandom health. The Netflix style of releasing a whole season of a show at once kills the opportunity fans have to discuses new episodes and theorize about what's going. It also weakens the impact of an individual episodes as fans don't have the time to properly digest one before moving on to another. It also makes the wait time between seasons much longer as there isn't a time period where the show is coming out. Would there be the same amount of fanart of F&C if all ten episodes where dropped in one day? I think a single episode a week the best way for a show to come out.
