I wish more graphic novels came out as cartoons like Invincible. I would've paid good money for a good Locke & Key adaption. And yes I know Invincible had Korean animator face but still it was progress.

Ooo Finn has loving friends, a non-biological family, and is going steady with a wizard hottie. Everyone gets hung up on him grieving Jake, but sometimes that’s the way things are. You lose someone and that grief never goes away. It’s a testament to their bond.
Besides, he regularly engages with people, plans adventures, and tries to help others well after going full grandpa. He’s not an active death seeker and keeps moving forward. Ooo Finn has it good.

No one was there to talk to him about his time as Ice Finn. He's still struggling with the insanity crawling in the back of his head. Billy was also a nomadic Conan-archetype. I think Finn and Jake met Billy when he was older and more jaded. They then helped him rekindle his desire for adventure and saving people with their youthful naivety and optimism. Dunno if FW Billy was as jaded as his counterpart. I don't know if he and Finn had proper time to get to know one another either. Besides baseline Finn and Jake begged Billy to be apprentice them and had to really convince him to become violent again against evil. FW Finn probably only wanted to spend time with his family after those traumatizing years being insane and freezing humanity. It would all depend on how much FW Billy remembered.

It’s hard to notice, since Simon tends to blend into the insanity. When Gunther worn the Crown, he was absurdly angry and recited his master’s words constantly.
Adventure Time became the PB and Mercy show, till Simon shows up and acts like a proper main character to contribute actual interactions with Finn and Jake.
Honestly, Simon is the third main character of Adventure Time with a very important bond to Finn and Jake so they all can willingly go to some big adventures.

that's what i'm hoping he becomes at the end of the show instead of just dying.
This, I wanted and IK who found a way to remember his past loved ones but was still mad beyond recoverable.
It takes away all the emotional weight of Marcy moving on from the past and reconnecting with IK when he can just be cured like that.

Patience ST Pim's ice magic crown has one gem missing for Gibbon. I guess either they forgot about Ice Thing, this is a slightly altered au, or somehow Patience figured out how to neutralize him over time after being released from being frozen.
Maybe a that's an entire ooo arc on it's own in this potential 1000 years later series. Patience was froze herself at the height/peak of an ice elemental's power after all.

What cracks me up, as a Brit, is that we have this children's books called Horrible Histories and their whole gimmick is showing blood, gore, and dessicated corpses while teaching you about how horrible the past was.

He doesn’t accept IK’s existence as a part of himself but also yearns for how the Crown’s madness + magic let him exist alongside everyone else in Ooo. Once Golbetty stops interfering and this natural acceptance of the Crown/IK occurs, Fionna’s world will be reimbued with magic while retaining the mundane structures/identities of that universe. This will reflect Simon’s new, more stable mental state while providing Fionna an opportunity to experience an unknown, magical world (aka keeping the setting open so an S2 can happen).
The Ice King was honestly becoming a stable and well-realized person that was surrounded by weirdos that can’t control their willies and maintain stable relationships to save their life.
It'd honestly probably be either adult version that we've seen in the show.

I think it has more to do with the fact that he has a loving family and a stable life. Prime Finn is implied to be basically just going through his entire life coping about Jake.
Ooo Finn has loving friends, a non-biological family, and is going steady with a wizard hottie. Everyone gets hung up on him grieving Jake, but sometimes that’s the way things are. You lose someone and that grief never goes away. It’s a testament to their bond.
Besides, he regularly engages with people, plans adventures, and tries to help others well after going full grandpa. He’s not an active death seeker and keeps moving forward. Ooo Finn has it good.

His Jake can't even shapeshift so he had to fend for himself for a good time.

I don't remember how billy was characterized. Wasn't he a standard hero that would understand finn was manipulated by evil forces and at least set him on the right track

They then helped him rekindle his desire for adventure and saving people with their youthful naivety and optimism. Dunno if FW Billy was as jaded as his counterpart. I don't know if he and Finn had proper time to get to know one another either. Besides baseline Finn and Jake begged Billy to be apprentice them and had to really convince him to become violent again against evil. FW Finn probably only wanted to spend time with his family after those traumatizing years being insane and freezing humanity. It would all depend on how much FW Billy remembered.

The problem with a miniseries is that they'd inevitably try to retcon Evergreen into being a swell guy.

Golbetty likely would but in more subtle ways. I'd argue it's just plainly visible here because an actual vessel of Golb is present so you can see the rule take effect. It's why the previous portal rituals likely failed, because being transported or contacting Golb's realm is likely very UNSAFE.

Fionna’s world is weird because Farm World is already a more grounded and realistic setting that treats magic and the supernatural as a relevant force (like it does in our world). Fiona and Cake should actually return objects and people to their original and pure condition.
Prismo’s world is the only one that lacks a Lich hand. So he gets simped in the end.
Ehhh, Farmworld is still somewhat apocalyptic and has actual magic and supernatural stuff, I wouldn't call that grounded and realistic, specially compared to Fionna's world where magic straight up doesn't exist, it's very much like our world, and it needed Simon to accidentally open a portal for Fionna and Cake to get out.

I think Fionna and Cake will continue the themes setup in Distant Lands, where people are pushing beyond their past selves. Simon has been running from his past as the Ice King. He doesn’t accept IK’s existence as a part of himself but also yearns for how the Crown’s madness + magic let him exist alongside everyone else in Ooo. Once Golbetty stops interfering and this natural acceptance of the Crown/IK occurs, Fionna’s world will be reimbued with magic while retaining the mundane structures/identities of that universe. This will reflect Simon’s new, more stable mental state while providing Fionna an opportunity to experience an unknown, magical world (aka keeping the setting open so an S2 can happen).
The Ice King was honestly becoming a stable and well-realized person that was surrounded by weirdos that can’t control their willies and maintain stable relationships to save their life.
