If there is a season 2, it won't involve THAT fionna and cake because they are clearly Done(tm). But now that they're truly "canon", they're multiverse-compliant so an infinite number of possible universes can branch out from them. If they want to make a version of the original ripoff-versions of Fionna and Cake as characters in something they can, because it's no longer locked in Simon's head. Or a "farmworld fionna" or anything they want. She could be in Multiversus someday.
Farmworld finn is NOT dead.
Him, Flynn and Lynn is taking the kids in season 2 and fiona can do nothing about it >Finn except mature, competent and efficient >Cold assassin Finn >Fricked up philosopher Finn
Fionnas gonna die
Keep telling yourself that. Also Flynn and Lynn don't exist anymore as Ice Queen is still normalized. She would be more into smut than direct AT fanfics.
They have not shied away from showing blood, and they specifically showed Scarab using a twin-spike attack in that shot... on someone wearing a vampire-resistant hood. They specifically chose to not make it clear whether he died or not.
Yes but the audience has had that established for them, and they deliberately do not show any blood or show us the aftermath. I'm saying literally it likely has not yet been determined whether or not he died.
Okay explain how two iron rods penetrating through someone's cranium doesn't cause internal hemorrhaging, disfigurement, and a whole host of other dire health issues. Those legs went through his skull. It's length went through his flesh and bone dude. Not like when we saw the vampire teeth barely grazing past the surface.
>magic got introduced into the Fionnaverse >Ice queen became magical >except she's actually moronic and not affected by the crown >produced Evil Finns with fricked up morals (eg.Flynn and Lynn) >Maybe they are even more fricked up because they live in normieverse and is actually serial killers >Farmworld Finn hired them to get back his boy >Now fionna have to fight off 3 finns with OG finn
Lynn will never happen. It's an afterthought. Stop latching onto it schizo.
they could literally just have him have a plate in his head from whatever event also took his arm. Boom, writer's excuse for why that wasn't lethal. It probably cracked his skull and he definitely needed medical attention, but he lived. Or, maybe they want to write a story set later involving one of his kids, and maybe it DID kill him and now one of his kids is having to be the hero of the wastelands. Who knows?
>Okay explain how two iron rods penetrating through someone's cranium
I tried watching the episode carefully again and it really isn't clear how far they "penetrated" his skull if at all. We don't get any animation of them entering, it just sorta cuts to the shot of his head pushed against the ground after the initial shot of Scarab kicking him in the head.
Really the biggest travesty is not at least either showing him dead or alive because now until a potential season 2 people are going to be arguing this back and forth and that sucks balls.
>magic got introduced into the Fionnaverse >Ice queen became magical >except she's actually moronic and not affected by the crown >produced Evil Finns with fricked up morals (eg.Flynn and Lynn) >Maybe they are even more fricked up because they live in normieverse and is actually serial killers >Farmworld Finn hired them to get back his boy >Now fionna have to fight off 3 finns with OG finn
The ending would've been kino if instead of the therapy scene, Simon talked it out with Finn, PB and Marcy.
Then he tells Finn he's dating Minerva and they produced an AI kid
also, just don't isekai the FW kids into Fionnaworld that was really fricking moronic and made no sense
Just finished episode 10, ending was alright but the main thing currently bugging me is wondering why didn't Simon just go and live in the F&C universe after it was no longer stuck inside his head?
One of his biggest problems we saw at the start of the show was the fact that he's completely out of place in Ooo, he's basically a stranger even among other humans. Aside from Marceline he's got nothing to really tether him to the main universe, and even then she's an immortal vampire with an immortal gum wife and he's a now-mortal man who's at minimum pushing his 60s.
Why can't they let him retire and live out his last few decades in a moderately-magical romanticised version of late 20th century Seattle, among actual people and friends he made along his whole universe-jumping adventure?
Because his problem was his mindset, same as Fionna. There was a ton to appreciate about his world if he just stopped clinging onto his Betty obsession.
I like to imagine he ran away from home after his dad died and Ice Queen found him and cared for him until his mom came to get him, maybe even for a few days. Then they kept in touch, and if he sees her in the park she's all "Marshall! My boy!"
>They had similar career paths - archaelogy. They are turbo nurds and have similar interest. The only real sacrifice done by Betty was merging with Golb...
Do you know how little that narrows it down? There are plenty of diverging paths from a focus in Minoan architecture to extreme niches like Yoruba mask collecting. It seemed that while they were in the same field of interest both could've potentially studied different artifacts, regions, and histories had they went their separate ways. Did you not watch the s6 e38 where she states she gave so much of herself that there was barely anything of her left behind? How she inherited Magic Man's curse through madness and sadness?
She revealed her stubborn, headstrong yet brash nature in the ep Betty where she flew into the portal just to be with Simon. I don't think the show regards sacrificing oneself as inherently negative, but reflection and balance is needed. >she could have contacted with Evergreen the creator of the crown to repurpose it.
Yeah I too wish Evergreen had more of a callback considering the legacy he left behind.
yeah I don't get what other anon implied by saying "never change" when the entire miniseries was working off character writing well after the first seasons. maybe it's why they hated the ending: they didn't watch the part where Betty willingly gave herself magic through madness.
Not gonna lie, since Tom Kenny said this was the most emotional thing he's ever recorded I expected more crying and breakdowns from Simon and was psyching myself up the whole show for a big climactic tearjerker scene. And now that we got a safe happy ending I feel a bit blueballed.
https://twitter.com/luzsrealm/status/1707206938973360166 >most of Simon's depression is because of Muto himself
THE ABSOLUTE FRICKING STATE
THESE HACK WRITERS CAN'T EVEN STOP PROJECTING THEIR ISSUES INTO AT
Simon's depression was why people watched the show though? Anons here literally say that Simon's story carried the series and they're disappointed that the last two episodes weren't as emotional
>Finn and HW have an on/off relationship which means they get to stay with each other for many years rather having an disastrous breakup like with FP
What's wrong with that?
>writer fell in love and decided to write relationships
That’s perfectly normal you weirdo. Besides, I thought you were seething just because we didn’t get to see them in the finale
Whatever problems F&C have if’s no where near the Eva reboot where the wealthy and massively successful creator finally got a girlfriend irl and now everything is amazing for him so you should be happy too.
The difference is that at least I can take Eva seriously, I for the love of God can't take AT's spoon artstyle seriously, another reason why this series wasn't meant for this kind of shit
the artstyle and the mannerisms. Look at the lich ep and Simon waving his noodle arms back and forth and going "schmebulock lebulock I'm a heckin grumpus globbus frumpus bumpus" as part of his magic spell and try to convince yourself this is cerebral
Sorry all anime is coomer bait. Anime fans like to complain about other fandoms being trash when their the worst consoomers I've ever seen. I would rather have ten wacky Cake forms than 1 Asuka panty shot or 2 Shinji sad cums. go back to Cinemaphile.
>THE ABSOLUTE FRICKING STATE >THESE HACK WRITERS CAN'T EVEN STOP PROJECTING THEIR ISSUES
kekw I was about to use this image.
Honestly, Muto is a chad if he doesn't come back to do more miniseries compared to Hideaki "Buy My New Waifu's Custom-made Panties To Support The Fiftieth EoE Reboot" Anno
when you have no media literacy you think storytelling is writing words down, which is why they think AI can do it. They don't actually know what writing or storytelling is.
>Simon and Marcy is probably my favorite relationship dynamic and had the most touching backstory in the series >Marcy's existence has been completely subsumed by Bubbline shit and she might as well not exist outside of that pairing now >Marcy doesn't even get included in the ending montage with Simon despite a perfect setup in an earlier episode with that phonecall
Shipping is a cancer that ruins everything it touches.
This is my biggest gripe with this and Distant Lands. The show acknowledges they have this amazing bond, but then does jack shit with it when given every opportunity imaginable. Almost like they’re afraid to “ruin it”.
At no point does the story ever acknowledge how Simon choosing to doom himself would affect people who care about him like Marcy, and that’s shocking to me.
more like >AT manbabies immediately cope they’re gonna frick
Ultimately just a cope for the fact Simon is the only incoherent story in Fionna and Cake and trying to cope with the massive wet fart that was this final episode with coom.
"l-look guys he and Finn's mom are...are totally gonna bone so there's still totally something about this show worth caring about please don't leave..."
>two characters of the same gender are friends >people keep pushing they’re actually bi and wanna frick each other
Everytime, really shows how few friends people had growing up
Still mad that vampworld Finn was shot down, but now I’m imagining Gary checking out the peptank and finding out the extreme things he’s capable of and it awakening something in him
I want them to expand out. Make something that isn't a TV show. Make some novels, or a comic run that isn't just a bunch of one-off comic stories like we originally got. Make a game of some sort. A real game. Use a creative art style and make it clear it's canon, set in some different universe, about some conflict. Maybe an RPG set in a more fantasy universe with party members that are that universe's versions of some characters we know and some that are new. PB as a candy wizard.
yeah but what I read of it was just one-off little bits, not an actual story with relevance and weight, just a "here's an episode of adventure time that can't really be canon or matter"
it's a different incarnation of the dynamic that is always charming whenever they're on screen. they could hold their own for 10 episodes but i agree a longform series isn't workable.
Casper and Nova with a player who actually knows their shit. Frickin Simon didnt backtrack to the Water World to get the magic key that would have unlocked the True Good Ending.
>learn Billy's humble origins >see Billy's harem before he settled down with Canyon >see how PB plots and schemes in the background, helping Billy as a questgiver from time to time >learn the Lich's characterization as he finds more arcanum about Golb >find out how he became the Last Scholar >final match between Billy and the Lich before the latter is encased in amber
Never gonna happen. People say that Finn is the most cucked character in AT, but honestly it's Billy. This motherfricker has been fricked over so many times it's insane.
I want to say a Simon & Marcy show but I feel they wasted their chances for that with this one.
Besides that, I don’t really know. I’d kinda prefer if they just move on already. This show’s old.
Tbh, Prime Ooo before the Mushroom War, maybe it's the point that we don't get context with it similar to how the metaphor with Shermy and Beth is that the adventures will always keep going, but the glimpses of the building interiors and how the Elementals already existed even in a time "without" magic makes me curious about it. The BMO special made me curious about that big explosion that wasn't even a regular nuke and was responsible for the planet's crater.
Let's be honest both these homosexuals would immediately bend down and start sucking his uncircumcised finn sword by now. Twinks are a horny people anon.
i'm gonna say fionna's mom not-Martin (martina?) had a second kid who knows she's fionna's sister but Fionna doesn't know, that seems like an organic kind of transplantation of characters, no pun intended.

if they were both ignorant of it they could end up making out and I think that would be hot
Honestly you don't even have to be gay to see how fit and cool he is so yeah, he probably would have lusted over Farmworld Finn.
>Fionna and Cake are about to die >Prismo sends in a useless tank, two kids, a squirrel and a literal baby >Doesn't send Finn >Not even farmworld Finn
Like I get it, Fionna and Cake have to actually earn their shit and if Prismo had sent Finn it would have been over instantly and in a very anticlimactic way but come on...
Finn is a jobber without Jake and he would have gotten himself killed had he fought the Scarab.
>Abandoning apocalyptical wasteland to be in a better place. >Not bringing over your family and their soup.
Idk man they could've made it more digestable.
>Who would choose that over comfy city life with cute gf and dates to the aquarium?
People who realize abandoning four young, defenceless children in a dangerous apocalyptic shithole is not something good people do
>Fionna and Cake are about to die >Prismo sends in a useless tank, two kids, a squirrel and a literal baby >Doesn't send Finn >Not even farmworld Finn
Like I get it, Fionna and Cake have to actually earn their shit and if Prismo had sent Finn it would have been over instantly and in a very anticlimactic way but come on...
>Finn said he needs to visit HW before Simon's adventure >Prismo teleports Simon, Fionna, and Cake >judging based off the Marshal x Gary subplot days if not weeks have past
how long has Finn been fricking HW?!? are they planning to repopulate the human race with Finn's pure aryan stolk mixed with Huntress's tree genes?
yeah that irked me too. He knows Finn's a God slayer at this point. He's Finn and Jake's biggest fans. Maybe he didn't want to risk his favorite character dying to some one note lawgay? Impossible as that may sound given late stage Finn could probably fight the Lich with his bare hands.
I wouldnt call the super advanced tank useless. Squirrel was also packing magic fruit so those two carried. Baby Finn was a package deal so that was fine. Farmworld couple were pretty useless. Should have brought the whole family or have him packing Farm Finn's flamethrower
Betty and Simon had the same issue. They were both unable to move on from the other and would actively get in the way of the other moving on because they didn’t want to. Simon was ready to let go and take responsibility for what he perceived drove her away but then she jumps to the future and forces him to live. Betty destroys herself chasing a man who no longer existed until she broke the rules of reality to make him exist again. Then Simon was going to undo his existence just because he couldn’t bare not having her anymore.
They finally broke the chain. They WOULD have made a fine couple. They’d have been happy but circumstances changed and both of them spent too long trying to turn back time.
The whole conceit of this show would've been so much stronger if Fionna and Cake-land was purely an invention of Ice's King mind that his magic made real. No I don't give a frick that there was a beam going into Ice King's head in a later zombie AT season, they could've explained that in some other way for the sake of bettering this series.
Prismo being the true creator behind Fionna and Cake would explain why Cake said the ice crown would have turned Fionna insane had she worn in the very first F&C episode back in 2011, which Ice King couldn't have known if he was the actual writer behind the stories because he had no awareness about the crown's nature or what it did to him.
I'm sad Betty is just stuck as an incomprehensible God forever. The whole choose your own adventure with Casper and Nova and the scene on the bus was such a punch in the gut to me too. I hadn't even realized just how selfish Simon was being, and it makes me realize just how easy someone can be like that without meaning to.
Of course, but I'm more referring to the fact that she's just stuck like that forever and is just going to be alone being a chaos god because of her loving sacrifice for Simon.
>gave Fionna HW thus making Finn x HW canon due to universe ship rule >gave Simon Finn's mom so he could technically start a new leaf with a campbell without being weird
I want to believe that boss bonnie is alive and being kept in chains by Star, and peptank agreed to leave because he understandably assumed it was all ogre and it would be best for the baby.
Let me have my crazy b***hes
>Scarab became a literal janny
Okay that got a chuckle out of me. Prismo's a real bro though and I am glad Scarab didnt get "totally" fricked and has a chance to grow
>Gave simon a proper ARC , closure and a good ending >Fionna and Cake?......oh yeah the shows about them just let me shove a deus ex machina and end the day
this is very obviously a Simon show and it seems that they wanna keep focus on Simon , so are they gonna change the name of the show?
Still magic. Theirbworld became canon and got some denizens from other fricked worlds crashing there like Farmworld's kid+gf, baby Finn, tank dad, and squirrel bro
She got to stay as stretchy magic cake because Fionna's world now has the potential for magic, as they are now canon and have a "full universe". They're still normal people, but "oh look at that someone unearthed the enchiridion that just happens to have been hidden until now" because now they're not a pocket reality in simon's head anymore
what would even be the point?
Fionna and Cake got what they wanted. Simon got his moronic "move on" ending and the lesson he needs to pay for therapy. Their stories are both now ended.
I did. He's still crying about her and he's still an effeminate overemotional self-pitying old codger hung up about some hoe he knew while she in college.

Exactly how old is he? Like damn do you honestly need to go through all that just to forget some gf you knew for like a year or two lmao

Deoends on how the whole ice crown thing affected his aging and when it started. General consensus is 59ish as he said he was 47 when protecting kid Marcy and people assumed aging "stopped" there and its been 12 years since he fixed the ctown thing where people assume it resumed

To be fair they were together for the rest of the time until she disappeared, which was clearly just before the mushroom war, and he then spent basically a thousand years obsessing over her as his "princess" as ice king, so if anybody gets a pass to be obsessed and overemotional it's him

Now, now, the crown clearly had long lasting effects on him such as slowing down his aging. This along with deaging technology from the floating human city shows he's just mentally broken enough to become Betty still. 🙂

crossdressing Simon Betty, now that's a true sad cum. hanging out in glory holes all dolled up as his former lover to feel anything again.
he's going to therapy to "honor" betty. Simon's way too old now to start a new relationship given he's now greying and wrinkling at the temple.

Simon erectile dysfunction arc
>Simon has performance problems with his sex doll widow gf >Simon going on a multiversial adventure with finn to find viagra since its lost tech
100% would watch Adventure time:the last viagra
F&C's world is now vulnerable per Scarab's words so thats something they can play with. There are also other things they can frick with like:
>Ice Crown that Simon tossed ending up in another world as world stones were around GOLB >THE boss >Simon continuing to adjust or getting roped back into things. He does still have a link to Fionna and Cake via now multiversal phone >Shermy and Beth >Prismo glitching and Scarab hanging out with him making his own fanfiction >Fionna and Cakes weird glitch effect
Probably not, Anon. Fionna and Cake's story is wrapped up I'd say. They got their happy ending. They'll probably make a series about Shermie and Beth next considering they explored their rebellion a bit more.
I completely agree, if we get more F&C at all it will be a different version of Fionna and Cake now that they aren't running on an unlicensed copy of RealityOS inside Simon's head
you know what, I'm satisfied, not just with the show but Adventure Time as a whole
There's nothing else in this world I want to explore, sure you could argue there's the far future or more multiverse shenanigans to be had but I feel that'd be too much, like how strawberry plants produce their best fruits in there first 3 years and every year after that its less and less
I know its the modern times and if a show does well it'll get a sequel but I hope AT ends here and now and we can start a new show with a new canon and story etc
eh, there's more creative possibilities sticking to this ip where anything can happen than starting anew and 'setting up' the stage so anything can happen. as a setting adventure time is unparalleled.
I fricking wish Adventure Time's story would come to a concrete close, especially now, but Muto already made it clear that he's open to extending things even further. Now we just wait until the announcement of the NEXT installment.
If I were him, I'd make a show that's far removed from the initial AT-verse then slowly introduce it, just so it has time to breathe as its own thing and not jusr "another AT spinoff"
>Simon doesn't tell anything about his F&C Adventure to Finn, PB, Ice Thing, F&C Fan he only told her about Casper & Nova and Marcy >could've sold a shitton of new F&C books if he wrote one about his adventures
why
because he's escaping the fricking cycle of obsessing over the past. Everybody wanted him to do more Fionna and Cake, he did more Fionna and Cake, everybody move on the show is over, Simon is the creative team behind the show trying to move on with their lives but the Adventure Time behemoth is too profitable
Fionna really was useless this whole series. Finn would have destroyed the Scarab without any trouble, Simon should have tried going back to his world for a stop to grab Finn.
Finn is like a mutant star child who uses magical swords to kill demons and giants. This Fionna is a thirty something year old schlub from a world without magic. No shit the chubby wagie girl isn't all that capable.
>Leaker was wrong about Episode 9 >Simmona has been shut down for all ages >Vampire Baby Finn theories are thrown into the garbage >Farmworld Finn is now considered dead, or not. >Winter King PB is nowhere to be seen
Well, let's remember all the theories we used to have. Remember when people thought Betty was Candy Queen?
guess we cross off Muto being the esotericist amongst the writing staff. another several years of having occult stuff as set dressing. still, I liked the metamorphosis Betty seemed to have right before Simon found his world again.
[...]
It was a very good theory, there were a lot of conceptual hooks there.
He got "a" time loop event via the book if nothing else
guess we cross off Muto being the esotericist amongst the writing staff. another several years of having occult stuff as set dressing. still, I liked the metamorphosis Betty seemed to have right before Simon found his world again.
It was sort of right in that Simon and Betty had to finally end a "cycle" in their relationship
True. I feel sad that Betty had to dissolve her remaining memory of being and her memories with Simon into primordial Yaldabaoth goop. Shit's depressing when you put it into that broader context.
I expected him to slay them, but him being covered in their blood reminded me of show's rating
IMO TV-14 wasn't really used in this show aside from blood and light curse words
Well, anons, it's been a wild rides with theories and texts. I'll miss all of you, the schizos, the shipgays, and etc. You make these threads worth reading.
>Winter King is Simon's fate >The notorious Episode 9 Simon dies >Simon will be Ice King again >Betty is Candy Queen >Evil AU Marceline is evil because her Simon died >Baby world Finn will be the next vampire hunter for a sequel
And many more, it was fun theorizing, the schizos, the arguments, and etc. I'll miss these threads, now it's all up in the air.
Kinda wonder how and why he got started on his whole GOLB streak
Kinda wonder how and why he got started on his whole GOLB streak
There were multiple Lich Jake hands spread across the multiverse, also would be interesting to see his other reincarnations.
I will say it now, Fionna and Cake plus Distant Lands was the best Lich content we got in YEARS! It's dark when they confirmed this was the original universe from seasons 1-4. After Escape From The Citadel, they really did botch the Lich, but this did him justice and gave him needed closure as a villian. The Lich confirmed he killed all life in HIS UNIVERSE. That confirms this was the original Prime Lich, he completed his goal, and ended up being a floating piece of geometry around GOLB. This means Seasons 5 onwards is a new universe for Adventure Time. Rest in piece one of the greatest cartoon villains of all time. This provided me with needed closure on the Lich actually. I wonder if other anons feel the same?
Oh yeah, this was also the best and most satisfying Lich defeat ever, even beating Escape From The Citadel's Lich defeat. It was a satisfying send off for a satisfying villian at least for me
it was nice to get closure for him but i definitely feel like a creature whose sole purpose is destroying life would probably go to other universes and destroy life there, rather than be depressed/satisfied with 1 dead world
yeah but there are more universes and more lives to kill
he still has a purpose
He killed an entire universe and didn't feel satisfied. The Lich isn't stupid, why would he assume doing the same thing again would have a different outcome? He'd still get no satisfaction.
They just split from the same origin. They are paradoxical splits in the timeline that coexist. If it were a copy of the universe then Finn wouldn't have subconscious memories of being Farmworld Finn, something that was shown to be the face in the King Worm episode.
>fricking Lich being upset that succeeding in ending all life was boring af and stupid
I get it, he’s supposed to be an embodiment of death and one purpose driven machine but with how much cunning and plotting he did he would have figured maybe purposely ending all life is dumb as frick
It's not that he thought it was boring and stupid. It was that he expected fulfillment out of the completion of his task, but he never got it.
>It's dark when they confirmed this was the original universe from seasons 1-4.
Didn't Lich's wish created a new reality? Also the gems from the original universe should've been on the Enchiridion. It's more accurate to say that it's an offshoot from the original universe.
The Lich’s wish world isn’t the season 1-4 world but a copy made to fulfill the Lich’s wish. It’s why Ice King’s dying moment was shown when we know he was sleeping when the life ending wish took effect

Actually they should bring the Lich back one more time. A prequel episode (or series) showing the great mushroom war. The Lich's battle with Billy and how he got cast in the tree amber. That would bring things full circle and I am sure many of us would like to see the great mushroom war Lich. What are other anon's thoughts on this idea?
The whole multiversal thing and who's the "original" version of a character is such nonsense I can't wrap my head around it. To me, the OG Lich is the one we got in the show and who we saw in Distant Lands. This one is an AU.
I was fine with this ending for a version of him since it proves that cosmic nihilism doesn't lead to anything. Despite being a higher being, his intent of killing all life was wrong, even on a cosmic scale. I also feel this scene existed to showcase Simon how lashing out against a higher power for your own mistakes is not a healthy solution.
I had a thought that this Lich could turn into the opposite, an eldritch being who decides to make all things living beings (including the floor, the sky and the sun) in order to find purpose in his life, but this was fine too. Redeemed Lich may be too much for some people.
>that cosmic nihilism doesn't lead to anything.
If your ultimate endgame for it is just pointless destruction, then yeah. >his intent of killing all life was wrong, even on a cosmic scale.
Had it not been for Golbetty, nobody would've done anything or cared otherwise about him killing everyone in his universe. Plus Betty's human morals probably were the lead factor in that decision.
It's like Satanism if Satan were a real thing and could actually grant you power. Any dedicated-enough misanthrope could spend his life getting the power he needs to kill everyone he hates.
I think this means that outside of a potential reference here or there the lich is GONE gone. Like I think that wasn't just the OG lich getting taken care of, that's all of the lich being un-made. He will no longer be Relevant(tm) and should be considered done.
Yeah but I mean on a metaphysical "fate" level. A spirit of the lich may remain in Sweet P, but it'll never come to anything because Golb put his toy away.
I mean yeah, if they keep bringing him back he will have even less of an impact as he already doesn't have. As cool as Jerry was, the problem with a villain like the Lich is that when he shows up he has to be defeated or the series ends. This means the more screentime the Lich gets, the more people see him as a jobber. That's the rub. Honestly I have found the whole idea of people calling a recurring villain to be a jobber to be sort of ridiculous, because it's the villain, are you really expecting them to win especially if winning means the world ends or something similar to that?
NTA complaing in thread but I think that would be a TERRIBLE end for this character.
The lich is extremely fascinating conceptually, especially as a building block of all these universes. Just completely erasing him from existence makes it so that he never mattered to begin with.
I'm happy we saw a world where the lich won, but I'm not happy that he just gets jobbed. Because we've never seen a situation where the lich has ACTUALLY had the upper hand entirely. He gets built up, then knocked down. The one time he's won, we only see the after effects of it.
The lich has all of this fascinating lore to him- he's a primordial. He's in every universe. He's got a tacit connection to golb. He has an instinct to wipe out all life. He's a catalyst comet. He's a parallel to finn. He knows magic extremely well.
But we don't get to explore any of that? He's just permanently gone? Whats the point.
Not to mention, his whole deal with golb- we get one rant and hes jobbed and that's it? What's the point? Does he even know that this isn't the original golb? The fact Betty is golb changes EVERYTHING here and may be *why* the lich feels unfulfilled. The lich should be perturbed that his master doesn't exist. We don't get to see that though.
Exploring the mushroom war would be cool and all, but it's pointless if the lich is just zapped from all universes. It completely removes one of the most interesting parts of adventure time.
I don't think he got "zapped" from all universes, I mean on a writing level he's over. He might still exist inside Sweet P, but that's never going to result in him coming back because that would be "a story" and his toy was put back on the shelf and he got turned into one of those tetris shapes to make new universes with.
No, Sweet P was born on the cosmic prison from when the lich got splashed with space jism

What version of the Lich was that considering all the new lore?

A duplicate of the original reality (Jake's wish reality)

that was the lich who had his wish changed.
this is all very simple stuff. you see the first lich was turned into a tetris block while the second lich was turned into a baby and the third lich is the hand of a dog that was mutated from a nuke

That version of the lich was made when jake changed the lich's wish, then he waited in prismo's room until he could kill prismo and go to the cosmic prison. Then he got nutted on by finn and he john carpenter'd into a baby

Thanks I remember why I stopped watching this show now.
>we've never seen a situation where the lich has ACTUALLY had the upper hand entirely. He gets built up, then knocked down.
Yeah because no shit if he doesn't get knocked down the show ends.
You missed the point entirely. It's not about him never getting knocked down, it's that we never get any satisfaction with his character. The lich is never fully a threat because he gets obliterated before he does anything of note. He just shows up, looks cool, but never does anything at all. By the time we see him at all looking cool is near the end of an episode. We've had I think two episodes where it was the lich the whole time and not just showing up at the end.
He's extremely interesting but he keeps getting knocked down before we see them really DO anything with his character.
It's great and all to have an awesome mysterious character you reveal bits of. But at a certain point, you need to show the character. You need to actually focus on them, especially if you spend a lot of time hunting that this character is eventually going to be EXTREMELY important.
Adventure time has been having a lot of build up to some storyline involving the lich (and thus the primordials and mushroom war). We don't know anything really about the lich still- all we got is his rants and that's it. And the rant he has in Fiona and cake is ultimately different than the one we get in whispers ( I think that's the episode?)
Destroying the lich off for good is removing not only one of the most fascinating parts of adventure time, it's also just a complete abandonment of a huge plot thread.
It's been years at this point. We need something focusing only on the lich so we can finally let him go.
Well I don't actually think I missed the point as much as you think I did. The problem with the Lich is that he's too powerful and his goals are too destructive. He doesn't build armies of skeletons and wage war on kingdoms, he just beelines straight to the fastest way to kill everyone. The "of note" thing he would do is kill everyone. That's just the kind of villain he is, and in a show like Adventure Time that's got an inherent flaw to it (despite being so cool) because it means he can't achieve any of his goals. The biggest lasting impact he had that wasn't undone was killing Billy, and it's probably one of the most iconic aspects of him hence why the half Billy/Half Lich version of him is still referenced to this day.
>actually were bad for each other! >simon throws away the crown when he could use it to wish betty back somehow and accepts leaving her for eternity
wow great moral
>wish for betty to be free >X >wish for betty and you to have never met >X >wish for betty to never have made her wish to become Golb >X >frick, uh uh wish for Golb to become Betty fully >X >sonuva... >wishes for the power to free Betty >golb receives a second head
contradicts Betty's wish to have the power to keep simon safe. She would just send him to inhabit Shermy again. Anything that fuses into Golb eventually becomes chaotic slush in his empty skull. Instead of just Betty losing her entire being and self awareness, it would be both of them.
>wish for betty to be free >X >wish for betty and you to have never met >X >wish for betty to never have made her wish to become Golb >X >frick, uh uh wish for Golb to become Betty fully >X >sonuva... >wishes for the power to free Betty >golb receives a second head
also, she couldn't kill or remove golb. the wish magic had to interpret her final wish as fusinf with golb, only then did she have the power to protect simon.
Literally, unironically, what is her tax policy? Scrabby was right. Until now they had no sort of government. Their society was upheld by magic by virtue of being a work of fiction. What are they going to do now?
You know I was wondering why they showed protests at the end and that does make sense
Now that their world is legitimate, they get all the 'bad' stuff from the normal real world
>fricking Lich being upset that succeeding in ending all life was boring af and stupid
I get it, he’s supposed to be an embodiment of death and one purpose driven machine but with how much cunning and plotting he did he would have figured maybe purposely ending all life is dumb as frick
Gary’s immediate worried reaction to hearing Marshall is a vampire in another life is kind of interesting, if you consider boss bonnie and the fact that PB was the one giving Marcy a way to devamp in Stakes. The Prince/Princess of life isn’t to fond of the forces of undeath that surround their lover, are they?
Because if I heard my gf was a vampire in another life I’d just be turned on and proud
Why do people praise cartoons for trying to teach lessons or morals?
I understand that it's good for kids but aren't you guys grown adults? Do you really need lessons from a cartoon to have your own sense of self and morals?
You could probably do well it look into the history of human storytelling in general. Understanding things like Catharsis and the history of drama would answer a lot of your questions as to why people enjoy watching a character go through an arc where they learn something.
But this is the future and with a lifetime of experiencing hundreds of stories, basic morals aren’t compelling. We can do more, or at least more with them. We aren’t subsisting on the one town play a year or grandmas telling their tales, storycrafting can be a vast and complex art. And I like it in my fun cartoons too.
Basic lessons can be great if there’s a deeper labryinth in the journey to them, or more emotional hooks. If it fails at that oomph and that grab, and it just ticked the boxes and simply got the job done in Showing the Lesson, then it’s missing the thing that we like stories for - like you say, catharsis and drama
Well personally for me, I didn't really get much of a moral or lesson out of the show. It never really felt like they were preaching to me, the viewer. It very much felt like we were watching the characters in universe learn important lessons and have their closure and epiphanies that finish off their personal arcs. I get if you didn't find the story ultimately engaging enough though. A problem is that as time goes on original and fresh storytelling becomes harder and harder to produce. I am not at all surprised that "theme park" movies like the MCU were so popular since while they provide little fresh storytelling they make up for it by being entertaining in the same way a theme park is, or for a more insulting analogy jingling some keys in front of a baby. People like spectacle.
Shouldn’t Marceline still be alive in the Lich’s dead world because she’s technically not alive? I mean the whole point of Prismo’s wishes were to work on monkey’s paw logic and almost miss some important detail because the wish wasn’t specific enough
I assume they counted undeath as a form of life. But if they didn't, then Marcy would have probably starved by then since she'd run out of red to eat, and there also wasn't much shade.
I mean couldn’t she live off of just the color red? Even after life ended she would still have plenty of red things to consume. Plus plenty of ways to give herself shade. She possibly tried to fight the Lich and avenge everyone and lost?
Assuming her not alive status made her immune to the wish.
What I find interesting about the Lich’s wish is life just all suddenly ended. With other wishes events were created to set up the outcome of the wisher. Finn’s wish of no lich being from the bomb not going off. So what event happen to end all life so suddenly and turn everyone into skeletons? Does Death have some magic “end all life” button and the wish made him press it?
>Lich dies begging some guy he himself never even mentioned at all in the original series, making his entire character all about impressing the new guy who only ever appeared in the final episode
lame
yes I know golb cameod in pillow world and simon described him as a scholar, that still didn't make it actually important to them.
>Lich dies begging some guy he himself never even mentioned at all in the original series
Not true, he mentions GOLB in the episode "Whispers", Season 9 episode 13.
>begging some guy he himself never even mentioned at all in the original series
Whispers
cool. He says the word "golb" once across his entire existence, now that is his whole character.
If you actually wanted to do him flesh out and define what his backstory actually was, this is retroactively trying to define him by something he never acted like was important.
It isn't his whole character, did you forget how he was in Distant Lands? The reason they emphasise his connection to GOLB here is because GOLB is directly connected to Simon through Betty, and Simon is the main character of this spin off. It's relevant to the story.
He was a scholar of Golb who succeeded in wiping out all life in his universe, as Golb scholars likely believe Golb desires. He likely became a Lich through his scholarship, perhaps even spoke to the previous Golb
All a very interesting headcanon, and ultimately nothing but a headcanon. The only thing about "golb scholars" there actually is is that Lich is one, which is mentioned all but once in a passing boast in the entire adventure time series.
I liked it better when the Lich just had this urge to kill that was an intrinsic part of him rather than the dealings of another god. It made him more interesting, despite being plain.
They should have just left the Lich alone. He was much more menacing during his first few appearances, but at some point the only reason they have him appear is to get jobbed. Originally it felt he was the personification death that completely contrasted with the rest of the show, but apparently now he's just some walking corpse whose purpose is trying to appease a higher entity.
Old Lich just said he wants to kill because he wants to kill. He (unfortunately) never made clear why, or if he even had a free will and reason to want it.
It's really forced and butterfingered to make his entire complex about Golb as if that's an established thing about him.
good thing that's yet to happen. Describing yourself once in passing as "the last scholar of Golb" does not translate to "my actions throughout this series are all to serve this random entity that has never been mentioned and nothing else".
So you're just a little homosexual then? The Lich said he is a scholar of Golb. to be a scholar of something you need to have a significant level of dedication to it. If Golb is an entity of chaos that destroys realties, and the Lich is obsessed with destroying all life while calling himself a scholar of Golb, how can you really think they aren't connected in some way? No shit when the Lich comes into contact with the thing he's supposed to be a scholar of it would be an important confrontation for him. This doesn't mean his character has been reduced to just Golb obsession since he was his usual destructive self in Distant Lands which wasn't that long ago and was also after the Golb stuff.
killing life and destroying realities are two seperate things, and you can have studied a thing without it being your entire motivation. Which it wasn't and Lich never once said it was his motivation to please golb. He never said anything at all about his motivation, only that he was the "neverending wheel" who kills because he does.
And now they're trying to retcon that his entire character motivation ahs always been about this shit OC that was never important to him in the actual series, and little homosexuals like you guzzle this shit manchild-tier writing up like the corporate piggies you are desperate to suck off the absolute lowest of effort.

Oh please, don't act like you're some superior individual because you're a whiny b***h about a cartoon on the internet. >Liking things is... le bad!
People wanted to learn more about the Lich, and we did. They expanded more on his previous established connection to Golb, because Golb was an extremely important entity that this show revolved around. You'd think all the Golb imagery in the intro and the show itself would have clued you into that. >Oh no, the Lich wants to kill things not for (unspecified reason), but instead for (specified reason). His character is completely ruined!
Maybe you should just learn to fricking grow up and stop making yourself angry over things that you don't need to be angry about.

I'm not screeching mate, You're the one obsessively spouting out buzzwords I am sure you were smart enough to come up with yourself and didn't just guzzle them up from some other likeminded homosexual on this site. >when none of his actions beforehand even drove him to mention "muh Golb"
It's almost like the Lich rarely appeared and hardly spoke, keeping his motivation a mystery, with each of his appearances revealing more of his history and motivation as would be expected with a mysterious character... but of course you should have known this already right? Even children understand the concept of learning more about a mysterious character as time goes on.

and what a great "reveal" that is, that this mysterious endboss type character is just some rando who only exists to worship a lame OC from the final episode

It seems the very idea of GOLB seems to offend you. You're obsessed with the idea that he's an "OC" despite the fact that every character in that show is an "OC" because they are all original characters created for that show. The Lich has been established as having a connection to Golb for years now. This didn't come out of nowhere. You don't have to like how they depicted him in the episode, I myself thought it could have been better, but you can't try to argue that it doesn't make sense for him when that connection had already been built up. Well, you can try to argue that but people will rightly call you out as a homosexual.

You seem to be really hung up on the idea that declaring yourself "The last scholar" of something in an ominous speech about evil is just mentioning it in passing. Like the Lich said something along the lines of >"Anyway I gotta go now, stopping by GOLB's place on the way back but I'll call you when I get home, okay Finn?"
Betty's game was bullshit. At the time, Simon believed he needed the crown to save Fionna and her friends. He always chose Caspar's idea because he needed the fastest possible option while lives were at stake. To use that against him while trying to make a more general point is unfair. What a c**t.
Just finished ep 9. It was good, except I hate what they've done with the Lich. One of the best villains is reduced to a simp for golbetty.
I would like it better if the Lich was just evil because that's his entire essence and not because of golb. The lich trying to take over golbetty's power would be something I'd fricking love.
Oh well. Alright, I'll watch ep 10. See you in half an hour.
he was always a golb cultist but i kind of agree, it could make more sense for him to believe that goldbetty is an impure version of golb and that he should eliminate the betty part to bring back the true golb
Exactly. A golich would be not only a powerful antagonist but something that would fit his character more. To me, the lich always worshipped/held an adoration for golb because of the unstoppable power of chaos but he merely used it to fuel his own goals.
Also, when does giantess fionna appear? I gotta send it to a friend and get him to watch the show.
Are we seriously trying to brainwash ourselves that Lich's motivations were always to please and dicksuck some random anti-christ?
He vaguelly mentioned Golb all of once in his entire lifetime saying he studied him. Literally before this ep we were all debating if Lich was a thinking person with any motivation or just an organic machine that kills because killing is its function.
exactly
he was supposed to be the embodiment of pure evil/a reincarnation of the catalyst comet
he was actually catatonic when he couldn't enact death, like a malfunctioning robot
this is so busted
I was thinking this exact same thing, of course there's not going to be a season 2, the whole point is having to move on with your life, this might be the last adventure time thing ever, if they got what they wanted
To be fair, the showrunner for this show, which is specifically about moving on, has stated he wants to do more of it.
It's a fascinating experiment really.
>Betty gives Simon this whole message about not changing the past and moving on >Spent her entire time on Ooo trying to return Simon to how he used to be and also succeeded at it
There is literally no reason Simon "has" to move on
She's still alive in some form
They're staying separate just cause "lol gotta move on" even though Betty is now going to spend eternity alone as a floating baby again
For no reason
>Spent her entire time on Ooo trying to return Simon to how he used to be and also succeeded at it
Anon did you not see the finale? She succeeded at it by invoking an eldritch god who was gonna destroy everything in sight, and the only way to not do a genocide was to fuse with it.
Even by the end, Simon isn't sure if he talked with Betty. She's gone.
Golb hasnt shown any emotion in all of AT and its spin-offs so far (barring comics).
the only moment it showed even a sliver of something resembling emotional anguish was watching simon put on the crown again. Betty's still there, even if her sense of self and being is greatly diminished by chaos primordial mind soup
>no reason
if it had been a happy ending with no strings attached, it would break core rules the show set itself up with. then there would be no stakes. They get to live with their consequences.
She couldn't even talk to Simon that entire time and had to communicate indirectly via the manipulation of events. By the time we see her leaving on the bus, she had reverted back to Golbetty symbolizing she was now ready to go. Whether or not she could've maintained her sanity or sense of self is debatable after that scene. I highly doubt it since she fulfilled the wish requirement of keeping Simon safe, as how she interpreted what would constitute as safety. She wanted to safeguard him from himself. She wanted one last moment of closure so that she could gauge whether or not he would fall this far into madness just to try to get to her or take on the mantle of the crown again.
After that? She dissipates? her wish being fulfilled more or less.
It's a matter of can she even do it. Why does even Simon attempt to get to the Golb dimension for at least a decade if Betty is able to go back anyways. It's clear from her using the wish crown that she has no full control over Golb. It's better for them to move on their separate ways because of the madness, but that does not mean they don't love each other. The point of this miniseries is to show Simon how Betty sacrificed her life to keep her dear happy and safe and that she has no regrets over it. They could've done better, they admitted that, but they can't backtrack that.
Hey you guys from now on Superman is a priest following the word of Krypton's sun god Rao and spreading Rao's word to Earth.
Stupid? Doesn't make sense? Was never important to Superman beforehand?
Nuh-uh Superman mentioned knowing about Rao once in a single comic issue in the 90s that means it makes total sense for his entire character and motivation to be about pleasing and obeying Rao and being Rao's vassal on earth.
Now everyone please pretend like Superman was always about my super-cool OC Rao and only about Rao since the day he was created thanks. All Star Superman, Action Comics 1, Man of Tomorrow, they were all obviously written about Rao.
That's a moronic analogy, we know shit about Superman because he's the main character. The Lich is someone we don't know much about and has few appearances and always spoke cryptically. Learning more about him and his motivations over time isn't some contradictory retcon, it's literally just learning new information. Stop being so fricking moronic.
We knew about Lich, he was a monster born from mixing magic and plutonium from a nuke into a puddle.
Then he was a monster that existed before time and survived until today by reincarnating.
Then he was a magic comet that wiped out the dinosaurs.
And now he's some rando who only ever did anything to worship my fanfic oc GlobGolbGrobBlob. Even though he never mentioned him in any of his murdersprees beforehand. But we're totally gonna pretend he did now because that's totally how organic natural writing works.
>First he was some rando born out mixing shit in a bomb >Then he was some rando reincarnating monster >Then he was some rando comet >Now he's the legendary last scholar of GOLB, a mysterious entity of destruction
See? I can be a biased cherrypicking homosexual just like you as well.
>waaaah waaaaah mommy he said something mean about my gay homosexual show for manbabies
lol mad
Lich being his own character with his own origin is cool
Lich just being a shallow device to shill a moronic asspull with zero buildup like Golb always was is moronic shit and the opposite of good storytelling. It's reducing Lich to an even less climatic character than Golb was in Come Along With Me
Why are you obsessed with crying? Literally no one in the history of the internet ever who has said "lol mad" has never not been mad themselves. It's the biggest sign of coping.

>ending has a (seemingly permanent) crossover between different universes >this is completely ignored and totally fine
Was Scarab the only space janny? This feels like a loose thread.
The tank and everybody were sent there by Prismo, who has the authority to do so at his discretion. The problem wasn't prismo moving stuff around, the problem was that he made a pocket universe of his very own.
>Prismo can do whatever he wants now
It’s over, Scarab was right.
The tank and everybody were sent there by Prismo, who has the authority to do so at his discretion. The problem wasn't prismo moving stuff around, the problem was that he made a pocket universe of his very own.
This Lich Golb thing reminds me of when Marvel always retcons cosmic beings and their origins to shill the newest Coldsteel of the week
Like when they suddenly said Galactus wasn't eating planets to slow the heat death of the universe but actually was always eating planets because if he didn't this gay green guy called 'Abraxas' would appear and kill everyone and Galactus was always about the gay green guy.
And then they realised that was stupid and never mentioned the gay green guy ever again and gave Galactus a new motivation that he eats planets so he can restart the universe when it's dead.
>He was introduced as “The Last Scholar Of Golb” early on though, wasn’t he?
Episode 265 out of 284
Never mentioned even once before or after
So not exactly
Not early on, but yes years ago. It was revealed towards the end of the series, the Lich didn't have a whole lot of screen time and each time he appears he usually gives more hints to his background. Really, GOLB himself suffered from a shitty introduction in the show. He needed better build up, instead of more episodes dedicated to Tree Trunks being a bawd in the final season.
>Become literal goddess >Frick off to the void with a new job intertwined with cosmic bureaucracy >Ex thinks this is a bad thing >Tries and fails to “cure” you >His failures make him suicidal >He wants to commit suicide in front of you >Reroute his teleporting spell so that he sees that killing himself would also kill an entire world >He ignores that >He does it again >Reroute again >After going on an multiversal road trip he finally decides not to Jill himself >Instead he wants to induce ego death >In the same room as an omnicidal maniac >Reroute his teleportation spell so he gets transported to me >Gives a big speech and puts on the crown >The world in his head literally becomes corrupted because of course it does >Rewind time >He gives the speech again >Stop him from putting on the crown by sending his consciousness 1000 years into the future and tricking him into playing a video game that’s literally based on our relationship >He finally gets it through his thick skull >Just in time to because a coworker is trying to kill him >Finally give him a face to face and officially break up >May or may not have given up godhood the second he finally moves on
Did you miss the part where she says “they both made their choices”
She was either unaware or on some level chose to indulge her obsession, Simon was either unaware or on some level chose to not see the extent of her obsession.
Bitches be crazy
>She was either unaware or on some level chose to indulge her obsession
She was straight up told it was unhealthy by Finn and Jermaine in Temple of Mars, but she was also insane at the time.
I think it’s perfectly fine to retroactively say a character’s motivation was about a different character
But it’s pretty dumb to do that “reveal” and then have that different character kill them off in the same sentence. In a sense the “story” between that motive starting and that motive killing them only lasted as long as their sentence did. There’s no point to Golb killing the Lich if the Lich only palpably cared about Golb for the last 30 seconds.
No the problem was that GOLB itself wasn't built up properly in the original series which is why people think he's a "literal who". They should have spent more time introducing GOLB though it's connection to the Lich.
I mean the connection between the Lich and Golb was set up back in the OG show. Late into the OG show (the first part of the 2nd-to-last season finale), but still
If anyone should’ve put Lich down it was either Finn or Billy. They’ve been nemeses since episode 1. Lich only actually established Golb is his motivation in the same sentence as Golb killed him, like you said.
some production observations:
the Guest Animator on the Casper & Nova bits was Louie Zong, known both for storyboarding on various shows (We Bare Bears, Centaur World, The Ghost and Molly McGee) but also for his own indie animation (often CG stuff)
The song featured at the end of the last ep is a preexisting song: https://heylol.bandcamp.com/track/blue-shift-2
I'm fine with the "my normie life was (mostly) fine, actually" ending but I find it funny that Fionna would rather strike for lower rent than have a world with magic in it.
she has a magic cat now, that's a good amount of magic give it a few years that world will be urban fantasy sooner or later, is not a magic genocide like that other show
>Vee
I have recently watched Obsidian and Glassboy's voice crack singing really reminds me of her, yeah I know they have the same VA, I just find it funny.
>I find it funny that Fionna would rather strike for lower rent than have a world with magic in it.
It's not like rent doesn't exist in magic world. Jake's son even owns a real estate company, but it's still interesting so to speak.
>That crown is the same one from the beginning of the series, and we know for a fact it contains the minds of every previous wearer, including the original Gunter >Chucked into the cosmic void
Real fricking nice simon
So what? It's probably gonna float forever through the void which isn't much different than sitting inside a broken drum set for eternity. If anything there is a higher chance of it being picked up by some trans-dimensional entity than it would stuck in the dead Ooo.
Some other anon pointed out how all the previous wearers are still trapped in the crown, that could have been something for Simon to do.
Could even get his own proper Gunter after pulling them out and be a way better role model than evergreen.
Oh well, have fun in the void little dino dude
> errmm actually simon and betty's relationship was kinda toxic and problematic y'all, yikesarooni
Can't believe the fricking redditors were right about this being a plot point. In a show packed to the eyeballs with terrible father figures did they really need to make an example out of Simon too? (seriously, try and think of ONE good dad in the entire cast lineup, Joshua is the only one that comes sorta close)
I wouldn’t say it’s toxic, just very flawed. Both could’ve done better. Betty shouldn’t have put her wants so much under Simon’s wants, and Simon should’ve noticed it. There still was genuine love to it though
Simon was still a good dad, being a flawed boyfriend doesn't play into that at all.
And hell, I honestly think that for an evil alien entity Hunson does a pretty good job. By human standards he is pretty bad, but he's a demon filled with chaotic evil. The fact he still at least tries to connect with Marcy means a lot.
i've seen anon miss the point of so many things i just don't care anymore, but to be fair most of the time is just the poor moronic anons having PTSD from actual awful shows that do stuff like that so they immediately correlate it like that, basically in their mind every show is trying to do something to hurt them
I think that was just to show how their presence was dangerous for the multiverse, and why Scarab would be justified in pursuing them in the first place.
she was obsessed in the same way he was. The issue is that early on he was as dense as your avarage anime protagonist. He literally went through the same length to cure/save betty as she did to save him
The first time Simon gained a brief moment of lucidity in the show and wasn't affected by the crown, he immediately started working on a way to rip open a portal in time so he could see Betty again and say goodbye, even though he assumed she had run away from him and abandoned him after he went insane.
A thousand years of being trapped inside an insane demented version of himself and his literal first priorities were > find glasses > build a fricking time machine to say goodbye to betty
But this was the Simon after the years of Ice King madness and surviving the apocalypse. Betty was obsessed even before going nuts to the point of jumping to a crazy portal without a second thought of her own life.
>But this was the Simon after the years of Ice King madness and surviving the apocalypse. Betty was obsessed even before going nuts to the point of jumping to a crazy portal without a second thought of her own life.
meanwhile, simon, after regaining his sanity, immediatly seeks out everyone he can to fix betty, including PRISMO whos a pain in the ass to get to to the point you get a free wish just for getting there.
>I'm going to completely ignore what you said and just repeat myself

>>I'm going to completely ignore what you said and just repeat myself
dude was literally looking to face a god of chaos and destruction because a chunk of it was betty but yeah, definatly not the same as summoning said god...
I miss the trio. There's no reason for them to hang.
Prismo glitching will probably cause some multiverse problems that they have to solve together
There there's your season 2 pitch muto
Anon he was glitching because he hurt himself while getting out of the cube
Yes but while he's glitching something could happen like a wish goes wrong or he hits the wrong button on his computer. The possibilities are endless.
>Finn is marth
>Fionna is Lucina
>FW Finn is Chrom
>Vamp world Finn is Roy
>They are done
>When Scarab noted that now they are legit they are now vulnerable to the "bad stuff" that can happen
Fionnas world will come under the mushroom bomb and they'll all be reborn in a world with magic
>be Trauma John
>show up to Finn farm
>they're burying their papa
>what do
Farmworld finn is NOT dead.
Him, Flynn and Lynn is taking the kids in season 2 and fiona can do nothing about it
>Finn except mature, competent and efficient
>Cold assassin Finn
>Fricked up philosopher Finn
Fionnas gonna die
Keep telling yourself that. Also Flynn and Lynn don't exist anymore as Ice Queen is still normalized. She would be more into smut than direct AT fanfics.
They have not shied away from showing blood, and they specifically showed Scarab using a twin-spike attack in that shot... on someone wearing a vampire-resistant hood. They specifically chose to not make it clear whether he died or not.
>someone wearing a vampire-resistant hood
Vampires don't exist in farm world. It's just a hood.
Who knows?
>lynn will never happen
mark my fricking words
>Okay explain how two iron rods penetrating through someone's cranium
I tried watching the episode carefully again and it really isn't clear how far they "penetrated" his skull if at all. We don't get any animation of them entering, it just sorta cuts to the shot of his head pushed against the ground after the initial shot of Scarab kicking him in the head.
Really the biggest travesty is not at least either showing him dead or alive because now until a potential season 2 people are going to be arguing this back and forth and that sucks balls.
>magic got introduced into the Fionnaverse
>Ice queen became magical
>except she's actually moronic and not affected by the crown
>produced Evil Finns with fricked up morals (eg.Flynn and Lynn)
>Maybe they are even more fricked up because they live in normieverse and is actually serial killers
>Farmworld Finn hired them to get back his boy
>Now fionna have to fight off 3 finns with OG finn
I'm happy for them.
I’m not
Finn’s cool son should be an adventurer in a more interesting world, with his punk gf
>Canonically Fionna's fate is that she became a wagie slave
>man grew up
>became what he exactly wanted
>woman grew up
>unsatisfied
based
Still only applies to Farmworld Finn though
i dunno, his world seems like it's gonna evolve into urban fantasy, so she will be a magic wagie, which is more fun
did we ever see bmo in fionnas world?
He was her alarm clock. The real question is what the Litch is like in Fionna’s world
probably a nuke just like in the farm world
Honestly, what is next for Simon now that he has a new perspective in life
He'll probably move to a better place in the human city or the candy kingdom and teach about the old world
Fionna or Finn mama plap
Did Finn actually meet his real mother?
Think of it like that one Doctor Who episode, the first appearance of River Song, memories are there, and personality. But it's all blurry
she is paste now
The ending would've been kino if instead of the therapy scene, Simon talked it out with Finn, PB and Marcy.
Then he tells Finn he's dating Minerva and they produced an AI kid
also, just don't isekai the FW kids into Fionnaworld that was really fricking moronic and made no sense
Anon, did you really post Prismo dick, just cumming and spurting, with no spoiler filter?
Prismo dick? More like "primo" dick.
I deleted the pic, I thought that wasn't a dick at first. My eyes are very tired. Please forgive me.
Say hello to your new wasteland queen
Excellent!
Imagine what she did to them to make them bend the knee...
She banned scratching for everyone not named Jake.
Cute
ToT
Finnish super soldiers come out as winners in the Finnish-Korean Hyperwar. Destiny Gang is made a vassal. So are any gangs that survive.
Did Ice Queen and Marshal know each other in Fionna's new universe?
I like to imagine he ran away from home after his dad died and Ice Queen found him and cared for him until his mom came to get him, maybe even for a few days. Then they kept in touch, and if he sees her in the park she's all "Marshall! My boy!"
I think fricking a robot wouldn’t be pleasant, nor do I think he would frick one.
He tried to frick a glass chick, a robot would be an upgrade.
>Did you not watch the s6 e38 where she states
Never change
Not that anon, but You Forgot Your Floaties is an important episode.
yeah I don't get what other anon implied by saying "never change" when the entire miniseries was working off character writing well after the first seasons. maybe it's why they hated the ending: they didn't watch the part where Betty willingly gave herself magic through madness.
Not gonna lie, since Tom Kenny said this was the most emotional thing he's ever recorded I expected more crying and breakdowns from Simon and was psyching myself up the whole show for a big climactic tearjerker scene. And now that we got a safe happy ending I feel a bit blueballed.
>the Minerva anon won
what's next?Mona fricking lisa?
Mona lisa anon, have you returned?
literally who?
https://twitter.com/luzsrealm/status/1707206938973360166
>most of Simon's depression is because of Muto himself
THE ABSOLUTE FRICKING STATE
THESE HACK WRITERS CAN'T EVEN STOP PROJECTING THEIR ISSUES INTO AT
Simon's depression was why people watched the show though? Anons here literally say that Simon's story carried the series and they're disappointed that the last two episodes weren't as emotional
>writer relates to their characters
>this is considered bad now
>this is considered bad now
>Finn and HW have an on/off relationship which means they get to stay with each other for many years rather having an disastrous breakup like with FP
What's wrong with that?
>writer fell in love and decided to write relationships
That’s perfectly normal you weirdo. Besides, I thought you were seething just because we didn’t get to see them in the finale
>THE ABSOLUTE FRICKING STATE
>THESE HACK WRITERS CAN'T EVEN STOP PROJECTING THEIR ISSUES
Eva was shit too but they could disguise it behind good animation and a story they put at least some vestibule of thought into.
Careful they hate eva too, there's nothing anons hate more than a work of fiction telling them they should be normies
>The difference is that at least I can take Eva
Talking about EVA, what's your thoughts on the rebuilds?
the artstyle and the mannerisms. Look at the lich ep and Simon waving his noodle arms back and forth and going "schmebulock lebulock I'm a heckin grumpus globbus frumpus bumpus" as part of his magic spell and try to convince yourself this is cerebral
gemmy.
Sorry all anime is coomer bait. Anime fans like to complain about other fandoms being trash when their the worst consoomers I've ever seen. I would rather have ten wacky Cake forms than 1 Asuka panty shot or 2 Shinji sad cums. go back to Cinemaphile.
simon had been depressed since the beginning
kekw I was about to use this image.
Honestly, Muto is a chad if he doesn't come back to do more miniseries compared to Hideaki "Buy My New Waifu's Custom-made Panties To Support The Fiftieth EoE Reboot" Anno
That's kind of what writing is.
when you have no media literacy you think storytelling is writing words down, which is why they think AI can do it. They don't actually know what writing or storytelling is.
>Simon and Marcy is probably my favorite relationship dynamic and had the most touching backstory in the series
>Marcy's existence has been completely subsumed by Bubbline shit and she might as well not exist outside of that pairing now
>Marcy doesn't even get included in the ending montage with Simon despite a perfect setup in an earlier episode with that phonecall
Shipping is a cancer that ruins everything it touches.
That's for season two babyyy!
This is my biggest gripe with this and Distant Lands. The show acknowledges they have this amazing bond, but then does jack shit with it when given every opportunity imaginable. Almost like they’re afraid to “ruin it”.
At no point does the story ever acknowledge how Simon choosing to doom himself would affect people who care about him like Marcy, and that’s shocking to me.
>grown man is shown talking to one woman
>people immediately think they’re gonna frick
Like clockwork
more like
>AT manbabies immediately cope they’re gonna frick
Ultimately just a cope for the fact Simon is the only incoherent story in Fionna and Cake and trying to cope with the massive wet fart that was this final episode with coom.
"l-look guys he and Finn's mom are...are totally gonna bone so there's still totally something about this show worth caring about please don't leave..."
>two characters of the same gender are friends
>people keep pushing they’re actually bi and wanna frick each other
Everytime, really shows how few friends people had growing up
Still mad that vampworld Finn was shot down, but now I’m imagining Gary checking out the peptank and finding out the extreme things he’s capable of and it awakening something in him
What Adventure Time spinoff series do you want to see next?
Hard mode: No Shermy and Beth
Susa and Frieda! I wanna see the weird shit they discover beyond Ooo and the islands.
Susan*
Simon and Marcy
>Billy adventures
>Marceline's mom
>finn and HW romcom
Simon and Minerva, trying to overcome their traumas and date each other
ends in them having sex and Martin rush in, memories all recovered
I want them to expand out. Make something that isn't a TV show. Make some novels, or a comic run that isn't just a bunch of one-off comic stories like we originally got. Make a game of some sort. A real game. Use a creative art style and make it clear it's canon, set in some different universe, about some conflict. Maybe an RPG set in a more fantasy universe with party members that are that universe's versions of some characters we know and some that are new. PB as a candy wizard.
Adventure Time had a comic run
yeah but what I read of it was just one-off little bits, not an actual story with relevance and weight, just a "here's an episode of adventure time that can't really be canon or matter"
The comics actually ended with Simon reuniting with Betty and everyone living happily ever after
wasn't there a scene in one of these where Simon had a relapse and started acting moronic like Ice King
Simon and Marcy going on adventures while completely ignoring PB's existence.
episode 9 once again confirmed for me that a beth and shermy mini series would be ideal
They're just considerably less interesting Finn and Jake.
it's a different incarnation of the dynamic that is always charming whenever they're on screen. they could hold their own for 10 episodes but i agree a longform series isn't workable.
Casper and Nova with a player who actually knows their shit. Frickin Simon didnt backtrack to the Water World to get the magic key that would have unlocked the True Good Ending.
he couldn't backtrack, that was the moral of the story.
Telling gamers to not savescum to get the true good ending and not get stuck in the school shooter or bittersweet endings. lol, lmao even.
I like fang
she is ms. Cinemaphile 2022!
that's because he was a pussy who didn't know how to play
it is MY world.
i WILL get the good ending
i WILL NOT face the poorly written punishment of the writers
>not hacking or reloading cloud save to bypass that shit
lmao
he probably could've but since he realized the message it was trying to tell him he didn't get a chance to go back
It's literally a book that you can't backtrack in. They say that right at the beginning.
By backtracking I meant that being a choice he would have had
Billy and Canyon Save the World From the Lich
>learn Billy's humble origins
>see Billy's harem before he settled down with Canyon
>see how PB plots and schemes in the background, helping Billy as a questgiver from time to time
>learn the Lich's characterization as he finds more arcanum about Golb
>find out how he became the Last Scholar
>final match between Billy and the Lich before the latter is encased in amber
Never gonna happen. People say that Finn is the most cucked character in AT, but honestly it's Billy. This motherfricker has been fricked over so many times it's insane.
Which is why he needs his own spin-off, preferably done as a fan response like his Cinemaphile made snoot game.
An actual Caspar and Nova video game.
If Farmworld Finn had appeared, would Gary have thought he was hot?
He thought Scarab was hot. Clearly that boy has been repressed for a while and will frick any guy that gives him the time of day.
I think he's hot and I'm not even gay
Let's be honest both these homosexuals would immediately bend down and start sucking his uncircumcised finn sword by now. Twinks are a horny people anon.
>The only version of Bubbline that would frick Finn is the male version.
Makes sense.
This image enrages the Finncell.
>Grass Fionna is with DJ Flames
>Normal Fionna is with Hunter
nah, I think they actually pandered to us
now I need a pic of Fern's date with Phoebe
it would be very painful
you're a grass guy
I think Fern is immune to fire. When Finn brought his grass sword with him to the fire kingdom in Red Throne it didn’t burn or anything.
Is she like a cousin or a sister?
i'm gonna say fionna's mom not-Martin (martina?) had a second kid who knows she's fionna's sister but Fionna doesn't know, that seems like an organic kind of transplantation of characters, no pun intended.
if they were both ignorant of it they could end up making out and I think that would be hot
Man, Finn would've had it so much better if he was Aaa.
Honestly you don't even have to be gay to see how fit and cool he is so yeah, he probably would have lusted over Farmworld Finn.
Finn is a jobber without Jake and he would have gotten himself killed had he fought the Scarab.
>Finn is a jobber without Jake
Huh?
Marshall would straight up hit on him. Remember when Marcy saw Susan? Big buff blondes is in their taste palette
>Big buff blondes is in their taste palette
Aren't they in everyone's?
a happy ending for EVERYONE that doesn't feel forced? how'd they do it?
>Jay's happening ending involves abandoning his younger siblings after his father died
Not forced at all
That was based. Farmworld is an apocalyptic shithole. Who would choose that over comfy city life with cute gf and dates to the aquarium?
>Abandoning apocalyptical wasteland to be in a better place.
>Not bringing over your family and their soup.
Idk man they could've made it more digestable.
>Who would choose that over comfy city life with cute gf and dates to the aquarium?
People who realize abandoning four young, defenceless children in a dangerous apocalyptic shithole is not something good people do
So there is no female Simon in Fionna's universe? I don't think the Ice cream lady counts
she does. she's the ice queen.
she cute
I wonder what picking her options would have led to
doesn't matter, you can't go back :^)
Extremely hot NTR.
In the real timeline probably Vampire hell
Extremely detailed sex scene that prevents Casper from losing his memories. The mind forgets but the dick never does.
If Simon and Betty chose differently they would've both just died from the nuke
But they would've died "as themselves" at least...
>He didnt unlock The Eclipse route
lmao Simon you fricking suck at vidya
>Fionna and Cake are about to die
>Prismo sends in a useless tank, two kids, a squirrel and a literal baby
>Doesn't send Finn
>Not even farmworld Finn
Like I get it, Fionna and Cake have to actually earn their shit and if Prismo had sent Finn it would have been over instantly and in a very anticlimactic way but come on...
>a literal baby
>Doesn't send Finn
the baby was Finn?
He probably meant the main timeline Finn you dingdong
Prismo learned from Simon's shower accident and won't interrupt mid sex couples
>Finn said he needs to visit HW before Simon's adventure
>Prismo teleports Simon, Fionna, and Cake
>judging based off the Marshal x Gary subplot days if not weeks have past
how long has Finn been fricking HW?!? are they planning to repopulate the human race with Finn's pure aryan stolk mixed with Huntress's tree genes?
>pure
Finn's father is a mutt
It's a tan, he can't be American!
how long was Simon gone then from Ooo?
the Marshal and Gary thing is in their own worlkd and their own timeperiod, it's not set before or after previous eps with different characters.
If Farm Finn is any indication, probably nonstop. Mad lad basically fricked Farmtress to death
yeah that irked me too.
They almost could've worked it out if not for THAT b***h PATIENCE
Simon died in episode 9.
... in my fanfiction, now available in wattpad.com!
Maybe they’re together in another universe. The AT multiverse is infinite.
I think the bus scene was to show that there is a way to actually comprehend and communicate with GolBetty people like the Lich just did it wrong.
Of course, but I'm more referring to the fact that she's just stuck like that forever and is just going to be alone being a chaos god because of her loving sacrifice for Simon.
>gave Fionna HW thus making Finn x HW canon due to universe ship rule
>gave Simon Finn's mom so he could technically start a new leaf with a campbell without being weird
I'm glad Hunter got screen time.
Finn and friends would've wrecked the Scarab so I get why they didn't join
I want to believe that boss bonnie is alive and being kept in chains by Star, and peptank agreed to leave because he understandably assumed it was all ogre and it would be best for the baby.
Let me have my crazy b***hes
They’re dead anon, deal with it.
No bodies no dealing.
>Scarab became a literal janny
Okay that got a chuckle out of me. Prismo's a real bro though and I am glad Scarab didnt get "totally" fricked and has a chance to grow
>Sex with Globetty is trippy shit in a red world
>Sex with Minerva is.....I don't even know
is there a universe where simon could have proper sex?
Yes
In the universe I'm in
would Siminerva actually work or is it bullshit?
bullshit
They both suffered a lot they can surely find a connection
How do we feel about DJ Flame dumping Fionna for her (not) sister?
Happy for them
That ending was messed up
would Finnerva actually work or is it bullscat?
>Gave simon a proper ARC , closure and a good ending
>Fionna and Cake?......oh yeah the shows about them just let me shove a deus ex machina and end the day
this is very obviously a Simon show and it seems that they wanna keep focus on Simon , so are they gonna change the name of the show?
Fionna and Cake is marketable
Simon Petrikov isn't
but but but but but but but
he's cute!!
>Tfw your name sucks so much that they have to use some random side b***h for the title
I love you, Adventure Time.
I want her to shove my whole body into her unwashed cooter
>This is my #1 top fetish!
What did she mean by this?
So what's Scarab's story world going to be like? Self inserts of himself and Prismo going on spooky mystery solving adventures?
Grimdark Adventure Time
Would actually be neat
Find out in season 2
Prismo should show him Bloodborne and Dark Souls. That'll frick that world up real nice and good.
That'd be fun. That ir Scarab goes all GRRM and makes Elden Ring AT edition
I didn't watch it, so what happened to Cake?
Still magic. Theirbworld became canon and got some denizens from other fricked worlds crashing there like Farmworld's kid+gf, baby Finn, tank dad, and squirrel bro
She got to stay as stretchy magic cake because Fionna's world now has the potential for magic, as they are now canon and have a "full universe". They're still normal people, but "oh look at that someone unearthed the enchiridion that just happens to have been hidden until now" because now they're not a pocket reality in simon's head anymore
Farmworld Jake is TOO CUTE
Finn sadly dies from Scarabs attack and the Destiny Gang killed his kids for revenge.
Jay and Little D managed to escape and that's when the "pink light" transported them to Fionas dimension.
So season two confirmed right? This is a full show now, no longer a limited series?
what would even be the point?
Fionna and Cake got what they wanted. Simon got his moronic "move on" ending and the lesson he needs to pay for therapy. Their stories are both now ended.
>got what they wanted
theres people who haven't gotten that
>Simon gets therapy now
Hes gonna frick minerva bro
he's too old and whiney to be fricking anyone now. He's just gonna keep complaining and whining like a woman over Betty like he has every episode.
You clearly haven't seen the newest two
I did. He's still crying about her and he's still an effeminate overemotional self-pitying old codger hung up about some hoe he knew while she in college.
Yknow speaking of Simon's got a lot of grey hair now and wrinkles.
>he's just mentally broken enough to become Betty still
somebody call the studio right now
crossdressing Simon Betty, now that's a true sad cum. hanging out in glory holes all dolled up as his former lover to feel anything again.
He's moved on from her now
he just got a character arc , got over his oneitis and trying to start anew with minerva to honor betty
god dammit
he's going to therapy to "honor" betty. Simon's way too old now to start a new relationship given he's now greying and wrinkling at the temple.
Simon erectile dysfunction arc
Psh never too old. Besides he has access to magic stuff and future human tech. He should be fine
he's way too old. Minerva's a Mom but even she's not greying like he is, he's a whiney old man and he has no magic.
There's magic items, potions, and artifacts all over Ooo and again future tech. He can do what he wants
he's back living in Aaa. He can shrivel up to the grave like the gross effeminate prune he is.
>Simon has performance problems with his sex doll widow gf
>Simon going on a multiversial adventure with finn to find viagra since its lost tech
100% would watch Adventure time:the last viagra
F&C's world is now vulnerable per Scarab's words so thats something they can play with. There are also other things they can frick with like:
>Ice Crown that Simon tossed ending up in another world as world stones were around GOLB
>THE boss
>Simon continuing to adjust or getting roped back into things. He does still have a link to Fionna and Cake via now multiversal phone
>Shermy and Beth
>Prismo glitching and Scarab hanging out with him making his own fanfiction
>Fionna and Cakes weird glitch effect
The glitches were definitely there as a setup for future content, but kept vague enough so it can mean whatever the writers want later on.
BS, they’ll have the desire to go on adventures again they just needed their character arc
FIONNA AND CAKE ADVENTURES FOR 1000 YEARS
Probably not, Anon.
If Velma can get one this definitely should
Come on spooky medieval mystery with Fionna, Cake, Simon, and Gary Marshall
yes
No, nothing’s confirmed and even if they were to do more Adventure Time, it wouldn’t be a season 2
you know what, I'm satisfied, not just with the show but Adventure Time as a whole
There's nothing else in this world I want to explore, sure you could argue there's the far future or more multiverse shenanigans to be had but I feel that'd be too much, like how strawberry plants produce their best fruits in there first 3 years and every year after that its less and less
I know its the modern times and if a show does well it'll get a sequel but I hope AT ends here and now and we can start a new show with a new canon and story etc
eh, there's more creative possibilities sticking to this ip where anything can happen than starting anew and 'setting up' the stage so anything can happen. as a setting adventure time is unparalleled.
>a new show with new canon and story arc
The simon petrikov show
I agree. I'm cool with this being the last AT show. It won't be, but even if future shows come out and are garbage, I'll still feel satisfied.
I am NOT going to forgive this lame ending after such cool episodes gave me hope for AT again, and I WANT those twinks to perish
What kind of fighting style do you want Huntress Wizard to have. Dragon Ball style or Naruto style?
JoJo's style, she stalls until she can retcon a perfect attack that was not telegraphed to the audience
This show should just be called Simon's Quest
a_drumset_falling_off_a_cliff.mp3
Anyone having the MEGA link?
Haven't watched it yet
https://mega.nz/folder/HyQAmJZA#0K0K8_87YV4YN9SMu10olw
>transfer quota
Dont people know how to fricking encode anymore? There's no need for a 20 minute episode to be over 500mb at maximum anymore.
Just get it from the piratebay, jajaja to be exact.
>Simon doesn't tell anything about his F&C Adventure to Finn, PB, Ice Thing, F&C Fan he only told her about Casper & Nova and Marcy
>could've sold a shitton of new F&C books if he wrote one about his adventures
why
because he's escaping the fricking cycle of obsessing over the past. Everybody wanted him to do more Fionna and Cake, he did more Fionna and Cake, everybody move on the show is over, Simon is the creative team behind the show trying to move on with their lives but the Adventure Time behemoth is too profitable
The girl is going to make the Casper and Nova visual novel that he plays in the future. Time frickery and all that
Oh frick that's actually a really good time shenanigans loop
would actually make perfect sense in AT lore (thanks to "Betty" episode)
would also explain why the book signature isn't left ambiguous
*is left
>Verification not required.
Fionna really was useless this whole series. Finn would have destroyed the Scarab without any trouble, Simon should have tried going back to his world for a stop to grab Finn.
>Useless
Giantess muscle Fionna was pretty useful and hot
She's only useful with gifted power, the Winter Prince's sword, the cursed fruit...
Finn is like a mutant star child who uses magical swords to kill demons and giants. This Fionna is a thirty something year old schlub from a world without magic. No shit the chubby wagie girl isn't all that capable.
Now that the ship is foiled, post more simon x minerva art
Shit just started, expect the content to drop in a bout a week. This is the earliest I could find on Tumblr.
honestly I want to see more of robo-minerva in general, I want to see what makes that milf tick in more ways than one
>Leaker was wrong about Episode 9
>Simmona has been shut down for all ages
>Vampire Baby Finn theories are thrown into the garbage
>Farmworld Finn is now considered dead, or not.
>Winter King PB is nowhere to be seen
Well, let's remember all the theories we used to have. Remember when people thought Betty was Candy Queen?
>Simonna has been shut down
always think that Simon is better off to Minerva anyways
"Simonerva"
It was a very good theory, there were a lot of conceptual hooks there.
guess we cross off Muto being the esotericist amongst the writing staff. another several years of having occult stuff as set dressing. still, I liked the metamorphosis Betty seemed to have right before Simon found his world again.
RIP Gnostic anon never got his autistic time loop theory.
He got "a" time loop event via the book if nothing else
It was sort of right in that Simon and Betty had to finally end a "cycle" in their relationship
True. I feel sad that Betty had to dissolve her remaining memory of being and her memories with Simon into primordial Yaldabaoth goop. Shit's depressing when you put it into that broader context.
>Remember when people thought Betty was Candy Queen?
I remember this
This shit is so fricking old, frick. I dunno which was older, PB is Betty or Dr. Princess is Betty.
Looking back, was Ice King attracted to PB because she was smart like Betty?
Simonna's not over yet. They can still have phone sex.
Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars
I need the crudely drawn image with them
Your opinion on this guy. Also i wonder what happened to him?
Do you really love someone if you’re at all possible of moving on from them
Come on Simon
Betty’s a fricking demon god that ain’t right
Didn’t see you in the deadworlds Simon
Where do you really end up going, Simon?
While I'm glad that Simon lived, I honestly prefer if he died. Died happy.
>GOLBetty was having trouble stopping Scarab's autism
Come on b***h you should be more creative than that!
Not gonna lie, the part where Scarab killed the goofy cosmic criminals with blood dripping down his arms caught me offguard
His lawgay autism is too strong. Hopefully he chills out after a century or two with Prismo
I'm glad he didn't kill all of them and one just decided to live in Fionna's world being a barista. That was a fun surprise.
Till the next time.
what were we even "theorising" about again? Nothing fricking happened.
Here's the theories I remembered
>Winter King is Simon's fate
>The notorious Episode 9 Simon dies
>Simon will be Ice King again
>Betty is Candy Queen
>Evil AU Marceline is evil because her Simon died
>Baby world Finn will be the next vampire hunter for a sequel
And many more, it was fun theorizing, the schizos, the arguments, and etc. I'll miss these threads, now it's all up in the air.
>Evil AU Marceline is evil because her Simon died
technically true
I'll miss the Adolf PB shitposts and Simon x Starcy erotica.
One last time, here's an archive of it
The Adolf posts
petrikov is def israeli
I shall cherish these. As in I'll probably forget about them until the new miniseries.
The bit with Evil Marceline because Simon never got to meet and take care of her should've given a lot more emphasis in the ending to be honest.
Anyone have that pic of Finn sparring with Fiona all happy but Fiona looks like she's fighting for her life?
Is it safe to assume the Lich's story is finally over? I really don't know where they go can from here for the Lich
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V387xfGUPcw
Sweet Pea
It was a satisfying send off for a satisfying villian at least for me
>I did it, I did all for you my lord. Now, what is thy purpose?
>Block
He becomes a part of GOLB in a way, like all scholars of GOLB
it was nice to get closure for him but i definitely feel like a creature whose sole purpose is destroying life would probably go to other universes and destroy life there, rather than be depressed/satisfied with 1 dead world
since the Lich confirmed he killed all life HIS universe, that confirms seasons 1-4 adventure time really did die. Everyone from seasons 1-4 died.
yeah but there are more universes and more lives to kill
he still has a purpose
He killed an entire universe and didn't feel satisfied. The Lich isn't stupid, why would he assume doing the same thing again would have a different outcome? He'd still get no satisfaction.
They just split from the same origin. They are paradoxical splits in the timeline that coexist. If it were a copy of the universe then Finn wouldn't have subconscious memories of being Farmworld Finn, something that was shown to be the face in the King Worm episode.
The best the showrunners can do is have a Billy cameo while in a Bubbline flashback surely
Kinda wonder how and why he got started on his whole GOLB streak
It's like Satanism if Satan were a real thing and could actually grant you power. Any dedicated-enough misanthrope could spend his life getting the power he needs to kill everyone he hates.
He's a Hemeticist. One of the nicer ones.
There were multiple Lich Jake hands spread across the multiverse, also would be interesting to see his other reincarnations.
Yeah this is the end for him. His character has been fully explored. Fitting that he'd be consumed by GOLB
I think this means that outside of a potential reference here or there the lich is GONE gone. Like I think that wasn't just the OG lich getting taken care of, that's all of the lich being un-made. He will no longer be Relevant(tm) and should be considered done.
Sweet P still exists though.
Yeah but I mean on a metaphysical "fate" level. A spirit of the lich may remain in Sweet P, but it'll never come to anything because Golb put his toy away.
that's not how it works though. He killed that Lich, there's nothing said of any of the other multiverse's Liches
Distant Lands takes place after Fionna and Cake decades into the future after both Finn and Jake died. After this golb scene
Yeah but not to us. From a writing perspective, the lich is done.
I hope they can do something on the great mushroom war and give us that epic Lich Vs Billy battle. We never got to see that battle.
To be fair, there is weird timey wimey shit in Fionna and Cake with Prismo and all that
So you are saying it's possible this still takes place after Distant Lands? The scene with GOLB?
I think stuff in prismo's time room and with golb are outside of normal time
NTA complaing in thread but I think that would be a TERRIBLE end for this character.
Wasn't Sweet P's the Lich arm that fell off of the Lich Jake from farmworld anyhow?
No, Sweet P was born on the cosmic prison from when the lich got splashed with space jism
What version of the Lich was that considering all the new lore?
A duplicate of the original reality (Jake's wish reality)
that was the lich who had his wish changed.
this is all very simple stuff. you see the first lich was turned into a tetris block while the second lich was turned into a baby and the third lich is the hand of a dog that was mutated from a nuke
>the hand of a dog that was mutated from a nuke
and don't forget, "got death's son to kill death and become death so he could kill the concept of death"
That version of the lich was made when jake changed the lich's wish, then he waited in prismo's room until he could kill prismo and go to the cosmic prison. Then he got nutted on by finn and he john carpenter'd into a baby
Thanks I remember why I stopped watching this show now.
coward.
wait is the 10th episode out already? Anyone got a link? cant find a working torrent on piratebay
no, sweet P is the lich reborn thanks to the sap
>sap
I think you mean space cop cum
>we've never seen a situation where the lich has ACTUALLY had the upper hand entirely.
That crown was locked in Ice King mode, it didn't grant wishes anymore.
>I wish for golb to dissapear
>rejection noise
>oh no golb is even more powerful than the crown
Doubt.
Wish for Betty back moron, not for Golb to go away.
>Golb is free from Betty influence
>immediately goes to Ooo Prime to get vengeance
I don't think Golb has a concept of vengeance. I'm not even sure he has an ego.
>wish for betty to be free
>X
>wish for betty and you to have never met
>X
>wish for betty to never have made her wish to become Golb
>X
>frick, uh uh wish for Golb to become Betty fully
>X
>sonuva...
>wishes for the power to free Betty
>golb receives a second head
If you can wish to fuse yourself into Golb and basically mindcontrol him to do what you want, you can wish to unfuse that person out.
contradicts Betty's wish to have the power to keep simon safe. She would just send him to inhabit Shermy again. Anything that fuses into Golb eventually becomes chaotic slush in his empty skull. Instead of just Betty losing her entire being and self awareness, it would be both of them.
But the crown beat GOLB. Thats why GOLBetty is even a thing
this happens
also, she couldn't kill or remove golb. the wish magic had to interpret her final wish as fusinf with golb, only then did she have the power to protect simon.
Anon you are a literal subhuman if that's what you got from the ending, just leave
I get the message but it doesnt really apply with all the magic possibility to save betty
oh my wow this was sucha shitty f'in ending
felt like a marvel movie
Literally, unironically, what is her tax policy? Scrabby was right. Until now they had no sort of government. Their society was upheld by magic by virtue of being a work of fiction. What are they going to do now?
You know I was wondering why they showed protests at the end and that does make sense
Now that their world is legitimate, they get all the 'bad' stuff from the normal real world
Cute ending and I'm happy for our leads and all, but where’s Finn?
Where. Is. FINN?
Having sex with a tree
%3D
Simon should have made a goodbye speech.
The thought of Casper actually letting Nova sacrifice herself just so he could get that crown turns me one what the frick is wrong with me
>fricking Lich being upset that succeeding in ending all life was boring af and stupid
Is there actual confirmation of season 2 or are you guys schizoposting?
iirc OST of the show is titled as "Season 1 OST"
I like that the Lich just gets owned after talking about his existential crisis.
Why do people praise cartoons for trying to teach lessons or morals?
I understand that it's good for kids but aren't you guys grown adults? Do you really need lessons from a cartoon to have your own sense of self and morals?
people like to feel smart for "getting it" when a movie or show tells them a very pointed and obvious moral standing.
You're never too old to learn new things or discover new parts of yourself
Plot of Season 2, any guesses?
Unfilttered Gumlee sex with LSP watching.
So was the lich some guy or actually a primordial force just simping for another primordial dude?
latter
>Lich dies begging some guy he himself never even mentioned at all in the original series, making his entire character all about impressing the new guy who only ever appeared in the final episode
lame
yes I know golb cameod in pillow world and simon described him as a scholar, that still didn't make it actually important to them.
>begging some guy he himself never even mentioned at all in the original series
Whispers
what else can possibly be done with the character? he's lost a lot, he's won once.
>Lich dies begging some guy he himself never even mentioned at all in the original series
Not true, he mentions GOLB in the episode "Whispers", Season 9 episode 13.
It made him more interesting, despite being plain.
they made him so lame. ruined the mythos of the character
I miss Ice King. I never liked any of this simon shit.
>tfw I can't read these last few threads because i haven't watched it yet
homie get the frick out of this thread and watch it
Old Lich just said he wants to kill because he wants to kill. He (unfortunately) never made clear why, or if he even had a free will and reason to want it.
It's really forced and butterfingered to make his entire complex about Golb as if that's an established thing about him.
Was it fitting the original prime Lich got defeated by GOLB once and for all?
"original prime Lich" never even met Golb or ever said he's doing anything for Golb's sake. That's an original Fionna-ism.
Please stop ignoring when people correct you
good thing that's yet to happen.
And now they're trying to retcon that his entire character motivation ahs always been about this shit OC that was never important to him in the actual series, and little homosexuals like you guzzle this shit manchild-tier writing up like the corporate piggies you are desperate to suck off the absolute lowest of effort.
>and little homosexuals like you guzzle this shit manchild-tier writing up like the corporate piggies you are desperate to suck off the absolute lowest of effort.
Lol fricking rich coming from you screeching like a down syndrome chimp because someone rightfully says your soishow for manchildren has shitty writing, which it does.
This isn't expanding on anything for the Lich, it's retconning without any context his previous actions to shill some different OC, when none of his actions beforehand even drove him to mention "muh Golb"
>"I-I'm not screeching!" - he screeches, tears flowing down his chubby bloated face
lmao
and what a great "reveal" that is, that this mysterious endboss type character is just some rando who only exists to worship a lame OC from the final episode
nothing actually revealed about the circumstances of his being, just that the only motivation he ever had was retroactively to dicksuck the moronic oc
>he screeches, tears flowing down his chubby bloated face
Careful, you're projecting again, anon.
>and what a great "reveal" that is, that this mysterious endboss type character is just some rando who only exists to worship a lame OC from the final episode

Well, you can try to argue that but people will rightly call you out as a homosexual.
you're right, i guess it does make sense
him saying he studied golb in passing one time in a passing boast is not having "built a connection that makes sense", holy shit. Nothing was built at all, show him starting out as a worshipper or saying he's doing it for Golb, don't just fricking end with that and pretending that was always clearly the case when it clearly wasn't.
You seem to be really hung up on the idea that declaring yourself "The last scholar" of something in an ominous speech about evil is just mentioning it in passing. Like the Lich said something along the lines of
>"Anyway I gotta go now, stopping by GOLB's place on the way back but I'll call you when I get home, okay Finn?"
I believe that it was Betty who killed him
think about it
>reunite with your love interest
>some tries to talk with you about some unrelated topic
Now that we're talking about Finn's mother. How about posting some nice wholesome mother and son fanart between Finn and his mother Minerva.
No. Simon is her son now.
Simon's twice her age.
Sure.

Did the crack shipper have an early viewing of these eps
Yeah crack shipper are beginning to be more annoying.
Could Cinemaphile beat the Casoer and Nova game? Surely we wouldnt do worse than Simon right?
>Get crown
>Wish to revive Nova and blocking the event
>Get everything
>somehow get the secret worst ending
>Nova commits suicide from the gangrape
>Casper shoots up the wizard school
Did I do good?
Cinemaphile would somehow manage to frick up even worse.
What's the patient zero of fionna and cake?
Prismo wanted to frick jake but didn't consider himself gay so he wanted a female jake, then everything else comes as a consequence of that.
Betty's game was bullshit. At the time, Simon believed he needed the crown to save Fionna and her friends. He always chose Caspar's idea because he needed the fastest possible option while lives were at stake. To use that against him while trying to make a more general point is unfair. What a c**t.
Eh sorta in line with her character too. She was always a bit of a forceful c**t
Last ep when reinforcements arrive to fight Scarab
Are we seriously trying to brainwash ourselves that Lich's motivations were always to please and dicksuck some random anti-christ?
He vaguelly mentioned Golb all of once in his entire lifetime saying he studied him. Literally before this ep we were all debating if Lich was a thinking person with any motivation or just an organic machine that kills because killing is its function.
exactly
he was supposed to be the embodiment of pure evil/a reincarnation of the catalyst comet
he was actually catatonic when he couldn't enact death, like a malfunctioning robot
this is so busted
/co/, this is for the egg
>*bap*
I hope we get a season 2.
>show about moving on
>everyone wants a season 2
I was thinking this exact same thing, of course there's not going to be a season 2, the whole point is having to move on with your life, this might be the last adventure time thing ever, if they got what they wanted
To be fair, the showrunner for this show, which is specifically about moving on, has stated he wants to do more of it.
It's a fascinating experiment really.
>show about moving on
>by continuing the story of a show that ended years ago
It's literally the creative staff coming together to go "STOP ASKING US FOR MORE ADVENTURE TIME FOR THE LOVE OF GOD IT'S OVER"
Imagine what it could have been
This would a interesting spin off with Betty becoming Marceline mother figure
>Gary calling Scarab hot
>Cake yelling Terry's name after he dies
>Marshal going "hey" right before Scarab kicks him
It's the little things
>Plays guitar solo of gayness
>Brief pause
>I think its worki-
>Gets fricking smashed by the cart kicked at them
Kek
>Betty gives Simon this whole message about not changing the past and moving on
>Spent her entire time on Ooo trying to return Simon to how he used to be and also succeeded at it
There is literally no reason Simon "has" to move on
She's still alive in some form
They're staying separate just cause "lol gotta move on" even though Betty is now going to spend eternity alone as a floating baby again
For no reason
>Spent her entire time on Ooo trying to return Simon to how he used to be and also succeeded at it
Anon did you not see the finale? She succeeded at it by invoking an eldritch god who was gonna destroy everything in sight, and the only way to not do a genocide was to fuse with it.
Even by the end, Simon isn't sure if he talked with Betty. She's gone.
She still succeeded at it with no consequence to anyone but herself
considering glob refused to let any form of harm come to simon, she is most definatly not gone. Tho i still have to watch episode 10
Okay and why does that mean they have to split up
Golbetty is a God she can just literally visit Simon or vice verse anytime she wants
Can she?

But we're totally gonna pretend he did now because that's totally how organic natural writing works.
you clearly skimmed the reading, this was all pretty straightforward the whole way through.
>First he was some rando born out mixing shit in a bomb
>Then he was some rando reincarnating monster
>Then he was some rando comet
>Now he's the legendary last scholar of GOLB, a mysterious entity of destruction
That anon is correct and you just can’t handle flaws being pointed out in whatever gay thing it is that you like.
But I've pointed out multiple flaws with the episodes in other posts I have made in this thread. Maybe you just can't handle when people don't 100% agree with your specific stupid complaints?
i wanna cry anons
Hey, they still have each other
I'm there with you
Princess Huntress Bubbleflame for that one anon
did you happened to draw this picture
Finn’s dream girl
>Cinnamon Princess
Come on man it's right there, she's the autumnal pumpkin spice elemental
I did consider that, or Spice Princess
"Sweetina Firewood, The Spice Princess"
perfect, that is her name now
Sounds too much like Cinnamon Bun. I think "Autumn Princess" sounds cooler.
What is her name anon
So am I just a massive degenerate or was that final fight slightly fetishy with the making Fionna a giantess
everything is fetishy to somebody
So is Betty dead?
Probably. Now GolBetty is off to find itself or something.
From a certain point of view
Finished ep 10. Good show, I liked it.
Scarab was a cool antagonist and I actually smiled at his ending.
I'll consider taking some greentext requests this saturday. And I better see some requests for sweaty Fionna sex or I'll edge to death.
I'd genuinely be up for more Scarab. He was fun.
True. If there ever will be a season 2, I'd love for him to get more screen time
Fionna and Fern variant (Fernna) suck off DJ Flame Prince in gumball's bakery. While Hunter watches from a tree he climbed.
where did you watch it?
freetvproject space or 123serieshd russia
What do you think is next for Adventure Time besides nonexistent season 2
>ending has a (seemingly permanent) crossover between different universes
>this is completely ignored and totally fine
Was Scarab the only space janny? This feels like a loose thread.
Seems like they’re loosening up on it in general. Prismo was about to make his own thing again with no issues
>Prismo can do whatever he wants now
It’s over, Scarab was right.
The tank and everybody were sent there by Prismo, who has the authority to do so at his discretion. The problem wasn't prismo moving stuff around, the problem was that he made a pocket universe of his very own.
It was canonized so its cool now.
I wish there was more Shermy and Beth content.
>doesn't care about being stuck in his head
actually only good part in the finale
Would he get the good ending if he played Casper and Nova?
He would've listen to Beth a little more at least
He's like young Finn but more ADHD. So he would get bored halfway and find something else.
I love shermy i want a plushie of him
His split lip is repulsive. Especially when he smiles.
Fionna is a fish 😀
Now a valid multiverse option
We should’ve seen this universe in the show
there weren't any alternate fionnas or cakes because she wasn't from a real universe.
really ruined it with that awful song at the end
They at least layed the peices somewhere else before it was explained here
>He was introduced as “The Last Scholar Of Golb” early on though, wasn’t he?
Episode 265 out of 284
Never mentioned even once before or after
So not exactly
Not early on, but yes years ago. It was revealed towards the end of the series, the Lich didn't have a whole lot of screen time and each time he appears he usually gives more hints to his background. Really, GOLB himself suffered from a shitty introduction in the show. He needed better build up, instead of more episodes dedicated to Tree Trunks being a bawd in the final season.
Was the Turtle stuff in rp 9 from Turtle Princess?
Have you ever given her a chance?
b***h wife
Was that baby world Finn drawing Casper and Nova during the end montage?
No that was the Fionna and Cake fan girl who Simon made cry.
Ah ok
Who thinks the TVs in Fionna's world will start airing 'Frasier'?
Anyone?
>didn't get to see grown Finn and Huntress Wizard together
Actually unacceptable.
He literally goes to see her in episode 2
Yeah but we didn't get to see it
>Become literal goddess
>Frick off to the void with a new job intertwined with cosmic bureaucracy
>Ex thinks this is a bad thing
>Tries and fails to “cure” you
>His failures make him suicidal
>He wants to commit suicide in front of you
>Reroute his teleporting spell so that he sees that killing himself would also kill an entire world
>He ignores that
>He does it again
>Reroute again
>After going on an multiversal road trip he finally decides not to Jill himself
>Instead he wants to induce ego death
>In the same room as an omnicidal maniac
>Reroute his teleportation spell so he gets transported to me
>Gives a big speech and puts on the crown
>The world in his head literally becomes corrupted because of course it does
>Rewind time
>He gives the speech again
>Stop him from putting on the crown by sending his consciousness 1000 years into the future and tricking him into playing a video game that’s literally based on our relationship
>He finally gets it through his thick skull
>Just in time to because a coworker is trying to kill him
>Finally give him a face to face and officially break up
>May or may not have given up godhood the second he finally moves on
>ywn have a Betty gf like this
Is it odd that after all this I'm still jealous of Simon? This is the girl of my dreams.
>Betty threatens a universe with her bullshit
>Gets to become a chaos god
>Simon does similar
>Gets broken up with and left stuck as a normie
Bullshit, b***h just didnt want him gettin any and/or feared Order God Simon
brb uploading to r/adventuretime
Betty is a massive fricking hypocrite she hopped through the time portal when simon was ready to move on and apology to her
apologize* FRICK i type at 160wpm dont @ me
this, absolutely this
Did you miss the part where she says “they both made their choices”
Late into the OG show (the first part of the 2nd-to-last season finale), but still
Set up extremely weakly and vaguelly in a way that was as noncomittal as possible
If anyone should’ve put Lich down it was either Finn or Billy. They’ve been nemeses since episode 1. Lich only actually established Golb is his motivation in the same sentence as Golb killed him, like you said.
Cool that Finn went back to Ooo in a very similar way to Simon
?feature=shared
>GOLBetty didnt just reset the crown so Simon could get a crazy free wish
c**t
some production observations:
the Guest Animator on the Casper & Nova bits was Louie Zong, known both for storyboarding on various shows (We Bare Bears, Centaur World, The Ghost and Molly McGee) but also for his own indie animation (often CG stuff)
>The Crown is alive the same way BMO is
>Gets chucked into the void between universes
WTF Simon
>That crown is the same one from the beginning of the series, and we know for a fact it contains the minds of every previous wearer, including the original Gunter
>Chucked into the cosmic void
Real fricking nice simon
So what? It's probably gonna float forever through the void which isn't much different than sitting inside a broken drum set for eternity. If anything there is a higher chance of it being picked up by some trans-dimensional entity than it would stuck in the dead Ooo.
should have kept it as an antique
Some other anon pointed out how all the previous wearers are still trapped in the crown, that could have been something for Simon to do.
Could even get his own proper Gunter after pulling them out and be a way better role model than evergreen.
Oh well, have fun in the void little dino dude
Lich's new theme!!!
Lmaooo
I'm glad we got Skele Lich again, that form was sick
> errmm actually simon and betty's relationship was kinda toxic and problematic y'all, yikesarooni
The whole point was to show that their relationship was not toxic. How did you miss the point this badly?
i've seen anon miss the point of so many things i just don't care anymore, but to be fair most of the time is just the poor moronic anons having PTSD from actual awful shows that do stuff like that so they immediately correlate it like that, basically in their mind every show is trying to do something to hurt them
Kinda sucks they didn’t really do anything with F&C accidentally making things normal
I think that was just to show how their presence was dangerous for the multiverse, and why Scarab would be justified in pursuing them in the first place.
>betty's and simon's love wasnt on equal footing
what? Simon might have been an idiot but its very fricking clear he actually loved her
Betty was obsessed with him. Simon loved her, but it's not the same.
ice king literally yearned for betty (his princess) for a thousand years
she was obsessed in the same way he was.
A thousand years of being trapped inside an insane demented version of himself and his literal first priorities were
> find glasses
> build a fricking time machine to say goodbye to betty
What's that thing Simon is standing on in the Winter King world?
If I had to guess, some kind of Vase thing.
It looks like theres a face and a hand in it
Correct, that's probably the point. Its for Aesthetic purposes.
Its a vase
Damn. There is nothing there besides the Candy Kingdom
Probably just a prop from that same episode. I'm sure if you sifted through "The Winter King," you'd see where it pops up.
I appreciate that they gave those two huge racks
