I do like how in making Lich such a big thread they ended up making Billy much cooler since he beat that Black person's bony ass to bits. He was always cool and wish there was more done with him, you could have used his backstory to show off a lot of what Ooo was like just before Finn and Jake are on the scene.
I always wondered wtf his relationship with Bubblegum was. Surely they knew each other, he used her tree to defeat the Lich and she's a million years old. He had a different lady he served though, the Cotton Candy Princess or whatever. So if we're doing the Finn comparisons Billy mainly would have been serving her and not PB, but I'm sure he still helped PB a lot since she's the most powerful princess and a centerpiece of Ooo.

Yeah - it doesn't matter how cool or intimidating this guy gets, nothing changes the fact that his first appearance is with Billy kicking the shit out of him.
Billy didn't even use the holy gauntlet that the Lich is supposed to be weak to, he just kicked him right in the fricking jaw. Surely the Lich was seething about it and that's why he killed Old Billy in such an especially brutal way.
In fairness to Lich I always assumed that he and Billy had a much longer fight than that brief scene showed, I mean how else did he get him in the tree. And I think in Mortal Folly PB says that Billy used the gauntlet to defeat Lich.
Make Betty and Simon happen.
Make Finn and Huntress happen.

Doubt it. My guess is it may look that way but Lich will pull shit. Then episode 10 will be Simon going against him with the whole "battles his demons" thing. I think something like that happened in the comics when Lich King encountered Lich. Would be weird for them to hype up Lich being the last scholar of GOLB and not have him take the portal to GOLB right in front of him.
As for what will ultimately happen I think the crown will get rebooted and Simon will make his own wish

People shit on AT's lore sometimes but it is actually pretty impressive and "deep" and allows for so many stories they can mess around with.
I think they made a mistake in showing Finn die and reunite with Jake in the afterlife though. If they're gonna keep making more AT, which it looks like they are, Finn and Jake are one of the strongest ways to explore the universe but their story had such a "this is the end of them get over it" vibe that it would seem weird to go back to them beyond stuff like how Finn showed up briefly in Fionna and Cake.

This. I mean, I will admit that a lot of the later AT was them throwing shit at the wall they didn't know what to do with like Jake's kids or the whole comet thing or anything to do with FP, but still... AT does have a large and diverse world with many established characters and storylines at this point, and they spent a long time building it. AT is the only show that could afford it because of how long it ran and how cheap it probably was to make. Every other "lore cartoon" either only has a handful of seasons (like all the Disney shows) or spends a lot of time on filler (like SU). Granted, AT did have a lot of annoying filler too, but it's not quite as grating because unlike SU, AT does not inherently take place in the boring human world so the "every episode expands on the world in some way" mantra the SU crew kept reciting actually sort of applies there.
AT is helped because the main crux of the show was Finn and Jake fricking around so when that part became the equivalent of "filler" it never pissed people off as much as Steven Universe and the townies. Also, those types of episodes would usually introduce the very things that the lore was built off of later on so they ended up becoming loreshit too.

Vamp king has telekinesis and can literally just knock the crown off his head which is probably how he defeated that universe’s Simon in the first place.

Probably the point in time the episode occurs is far too divergent from the main timeline for plant mutant HW to spawn. PB is spawned from the mother gum, which existed pretty soon after the bombs hit. She and Marcy are locked in purely by having basically existed before the timeline split.

Kinda both, funny because it's a very quick sudden death after BMO acts like it's all going to be okay (like he always does), but it's horrific because this time it doesn't work and BMO, one of the purest characters in the show, outright fricking dies like nothing, it shows how high the stakes are and everything is possible.
You might as well say nothing matters because it's a cartoon, the Martin, Huntress and BMO of those respective universes are now dead, I'd argue that matters.

If I saw an alternate version of my friend die, it'd still impact me, even if it isn't MY friend, it's a version of them, and it's fricked up either way.
But that's just me, maybe it's cause important characters in the main universes don't really die, specially BMO, that little guy has gone through hell and back, so seeing him die so quickly was very jarring and unsettling.

My headcanon for the Vampire Apocalypse world is that Bonnie and Marcy kill each other, the Vampire King gets fricking pissed and sad, meanwhile, Peppermint Tank raises Baby Finn to be a Vampire Hunter, and he saves the world or something.
The emotional damage he got from Marcy's death, and the general lack of sustenance, makes the Vampire King more vulnerable, enough for Finn to defeat him.

I do like how in making Lich such a big thread they ended up making Billy much cooler since he beat that Black person's bony ass to bits. He was always cool and wish there was more done with him, you could have used his backstory to show off a lot of what Ooo was like just before Finn and Jake are on the scene.
I always wondered wtf his relationship with Bubblegum was. Surely they knew each other, he used her tree to defeat the Lich and she's a million years old. He had a different lady he served though, the Cotton Candy Princess or whatever. So if we're doing the Finn comparisons Billy mainly would have been serving her and not PB, but I'm sure he still helped PB a lot since she's the most powerful princess and a centerpiece of Ooo.

In fairness to Lich I always assumed that he and Billy had a much longer fight than that brief scene showed, I mean how else did he get him in the tree. And I think in Mortal Folly PB says that Billy used the gauntlet to defeat Lich.

Doubt it. My guess is it may look that way but Lich will pull shit. Then episode 10 will be Simon going against him with the whole "battles his demons" thing. I think something like that happened in the comics when Lich King encountered Lich. Would be weird for them to hype up Lich being the last scholar of GOLB and not have him take the portal to GOLB right in front of him.

I think they made a mistake in showing Finn die and reunite with Jake in the afterlife though. If they're gonna keep making more AT, which it looks like they are, Finn and Jake are one of the strongest ways to explore the universe but their story had such a "this is the end of them get over it" vibe that it would seem weird to go back to them beyond stuff like how Finn showed up briefly in Fionna and Cake.

This. I mean, I will admit that a lot of the later AT was them throwing shit at the wall they didn't know what to do with like Jake's kids or the whole comet thing or anything to do with FP, but still... AT does have a large and diverse world with many established characters and storylines at this point, and they spent a long time building it. AT is the only show that could afford it because of how long it ran and how cheap it probably was to make. Every other "lore cartoon" either only has a handful of seasons (like all the Disney shows) or spends a lot of time on filler (like SU). Granted, AT did have a lot of annoying filler too, but it's not quite as grating because unlike SU, AT does not inherently take place in the boring human world so the "every episode expands on the world in some way" mantra the SU crew kept reciting actually sort of applies there.
AT is helped because the main crux of the show was Finn and Jake fricking around so when that part became the equivalent of "filler" it never pissed people off as much as Steven Universe and the townies. Also, those types of episodes would usually introduce the very things that the lore was built off of later on so they ended up becoming loreshit too.
Next week, we'll know (maybe because it's true) that Simon is going to die in Episode 9.

My headcanon for the Vampire Apocalypse world is that Bonnie and Marcy kill each other, the Vampire King gets fricking pissed and sad, meanwhile, Peppermint Tank raises Baby Finn to be a Vampire Hunter, and he saves the world or something.
The emotional damage he got from Marcy's death, and the general lack of sustenance, makes the Vampire King more vulnerable, enough for Finn to defeat him.

I don't care much for Rick and Morty, but he IS Lemograb, this character is fricking dead without Roiland's voice acting.
Yeah I'm in the same boat as you, Rick and Morty has already been dead for a long time so it being even deader without Roiland doesn't matter to me (though it is hilarious to me that because they scrubbed his name from it that means dan harmon has to take all the brunt for his shitty writing) but Roiland literally damaged his vocal chords doing Lemongrab and you can fricking FEEL it when you're watching, nobody can get close to what he did for the lemon (and randomly getting a fricking drag queen instead of a real voice actor doesn't help matters). Seriously though it depresses me that Lemongrab's character will inherently be lesser than itself because he can't hit those notes of pure autistic neurotic rage anymore. Life frickin sucks.

At the least he seemed to age 2 times faster than Finn, so he was already in his like 40's when the show ended. Also his dad only lived forever because he killed his young and Jake wouldn't be doin that.
