I'm still in my early twenties (23), but due to moving to a different country a couple of years ago I don't socialize. I tried to go to parties and shit for a while but it was hard enough at home, here it's even more difficult to establish a lasting connection with anyone. Now I just spend my days here. What happens to Simon influences the F+C world, since it's in his mind. When Simon walked back from his adventure with Finn, the magical creatures he encountered roughly corresponded to the people Fionna met on the sidewalk. When Simon got to the vampire world, Marshall's mom's hotel was gothic-themed, which was a surprise to the visitors.
So it could be that Simon's just talking to GOLB outside, which influences the GOLB blocks to appear in the F+C world.
simon screen is probably either someone taking the universe out of simon head, or it bursting out of his head by itself, like to many changes or something. i hope they don't cut back and forth to gary marshal stuff, and they are part of fionna story.

With how subversive AT is, sometimes it feels like Marceline and PB with swapped gimmicks/aesthetics is something that should've been in the original premise.

I'm a big believer in the idea that the artstyle for animation should somewhat follow the story's tone and that you can't e.g. try to pull off serious drama in a SpongeBob style and have it work without some serious effort, for example I love Amphibia a lot but I couldn't quite fully get into the heavier moments given the Pepper Ann art style, there was too much tonal clashing.
Now with that said, for some reason I have zero issues fully buying into the multiversal drama and trauma of AT's spoon people, since always basically, they just always felt like real people, funnily with the exception of Betty who feels kind of off and fanfiction-y.
Even though AT is a goofy show, Pen cared about making it a believable world. That's why he nixed the characters making those big-eyed expressions after season 1
Is the colors. They build atmosphere of places not with art styles but with color palettes. Real world is cold and full of blues, dream fionna world is full of pastels, OOO is a technicolor vibrant but not quite, farm world is brown and oranges, Winter kingdom is mostly calm tones of blues and pinks, baby world goes back again to pastels and vampire world more browns oranges with some blacks, lich world is all yellow to signify death.
Color is way more important to define actual atmosphere and tone than actual artstyle. You could probably make spongebob more serious if you used the color pallet of the real world they used here.
Been rewatching the series and watching tower gave me a bit of an inspiration for an "Evil" Finn >Universe where Finn is extremely obsessed with the idea of being heroic and pure. >Obsession translates to turning on anyone and anything that shows even a hint of being "evil", possibly "slaying" them. (Yes this includes anyone from Ice king and PB to Marceline and Hunson)
I think this has potential to grow into something interesting, diving deep into how far Finn can go when he is obsessed with a goal or idea.
Wtf is Normie Bubblegum and Marshal Lee's plot anyway? Whose the antagonist, are they gonna have the Catholic Church show up and threaten to damn them or something lol.
Gary/Gumball works at a bakery but wants to open his own, because the owner doesn't like his cookie people pastry designs and wants to stick to the classics. He needs an investor for the capital to open his bakery.
Marshall, like Marceline, just bums around doing whatever. He used to be involved with high society through his mom, but got out of that life. His mom disapproves, and wants him to go back to being classy.
It's slice of life stuff to reflect how the genderbent Adventure Time characters would act in the real world and to show how poorly Fionna fits in that kind of lifestyle. Her world was literally handcrafted just for her, and then other people screwed it up.
I really wish Muto would just outright list all the remaining spin-off ideas he wants to pursue. I don't like having Adventure Time sit in limbo. Either end it or don't. Cartoon Network better hurry up and give in to Muto's demands already.
TL;DR: Simon and Betty were foreshadowed as far back as the Temple of Mars to bind the cosmos in an eternal time loop.

Simon, arguably the first magic user since the mushroom war wiped the slate clean, is representative of Talug (Abraxas). Many theologians and historians have interpreted Abraxas in a multitude of ways but for the sake of brevity, AT seems more focused with him being a driving force within the multiverse that always seems to lead back to his opposite, his dualistic partner, in order to achieve oneness. Anon implied that this may have occurred many times as Betty and Simon is sort of the end-state before the loop restarts. Like two ends of an ouroboros the head bites its tail and becomes infinite.
Assuming what Ward and frenz comprehension of their own in-world mechanics is consistent, Cosmic Imagination relies on someone to perceive reality or magic to exist. Everything else follows it's own structure and rules (like elements or madness/sadness requirement for wizards), but it needs an observer to parse it.
It's why all the items Simon tried to discover but failed to do so and was laughed off for were so hard to pre-Mushroom War where magic was weak. It's also implied Betty and Simon have higher degrees of creativity.
The show has always delved into dream logic, with the cosmic entity causing this entire miniseries to happen Prismo, being a dream himself that can only exist if his dreamer is asleep. What if Betty and Simon restart the loop through their reality-warping magic? That AT's cosmology, multiverse, and baseline universe was always going to start and end and start again based on these two meeting one another, albeit changed. Betty now has the power of primordial chaos, implied to shape all of reality, and Simon still has occultic knowledge and the power of the crown (wish magic), which orders chaos into form.
By combining the two, they recreate the loop each and everytime.

I haven't rewatched any of them. They're a bit shallow, unfortunately, and probably intentionally so. At least Obsidian gave some closure for Marceline and her mother, plus showed us how her and PB have grown. Also, nice songs. Together Again was a sweet sendoff for our heroes, but didn't do much beyond that. Wizard City and BMO were cute, and fun, but again, there's not much to say. Some of AT's better episodes had a lot more depth and those were only 11 minutes. I've said this before, but I suspect that Max asked for more kid-friendly, accessible content, given the emphasis on younger characters and how the episodes were marketed. I would love to look at the demographics that actually tuned in, because I bet you it was mostly adults watching.

It was meh like many other aspects of AT were meh during the meh times. What was Missing was good and Skywitch was fun, and it had smattering of good scenes across the rest of the show but also a lot of cringe or dull scenes, like a lot of other things. When Simon walked back from his adventure with Finn, the magical creatures he encountered roughly corresponded to the people Fionna met on the sidewalk. When Simon got to the vampire world, Marshall's mom's hotel was gothic-themed, which was a surprise to the visitors.
So it could be that Simon's just talking to GOLB outside, which influences the GOLB blocks to appear in the F+C world.

I've already accepted this. It's time for all of us too.
I'm a big believer in the idea that the artstyle for animation should somewhat follow the story's tone and that you can't e.g. try to pull off serious drama in a SpongeBob style and have it work without some serious effort, for example I love Amphibia a lot but I couldn't quite fully get into the heavier moments given the Pepper Ann art style, there was too much tonal clashing.
Now with that said, for some reason I have zero issues fully buying into the multiversal drama and trauma of AT's spoon people, since always basically, they just always felt like real people, funnily with the exception of Betty who feels kind of off and fanfiction-y.
I grew up with AT and it's always been a bit tongue in cheek. It works well for me.
Even though AT is a goofy show, Pen cared about making it a believable world. That's why he nixed the characters making those big-eyed expressions after season 1
Is the colors. They build atmosphere of places not with art styles but with color palettes. Real world is cold and full of blues, dream fionna world is full of pastels, OOO is a technicolor vibrant but not quite, farm world is brown and oranges, Winter kingdom is mostly calm tones of blues and pinks, baby world goes back again to pastels and vampire world more browns oranges with some blacks, lich world is all yellow to signify death.
Color is way more important to define actual atmosphere and tone than actual artstyle. You could probably make spongebob more serious if you used the color pallet of the real world they used here.

Marshall, like Marceline, just bums around doing whatever. He used to be involved with high society through his mom, but got out of that life. His mom disapproves, and wants him to go back to being classy.
It's slice of life stuff to reflect how the genderbent Adventure Time characters would act in the real world and to show how poorly Fionna fits in that kind of lifestyle. Her world was literally handcrafted just for her, and then other people screwed it up.

Many theologians and historians have interpreted Abraxas in a multitude of ways but for the sake of brevity, AT seems more focused with him being a driving force within the multiverse that always seems to lead back to his opposite, his dualistic partner, in order to achieve oneness. Anon implied that this may have occurred many times as Betty and Simon is sort of the end-state before the loop restarts. Like two ends of an ouroboros the head bites its tail and becomes infinite.
Okay so they're fated to reunite...but to do what exactly? Destroy the cosmos or something? I still don't get that.
Assuming what Ward and frenz comprehension of their own in-world mechanics is consistent, Cosmic Imagination relies on someone to perceive reality or magic to exist. Everything else follows it's own structure and rules (like elements or madness/sadness requirement for wizards), but it needs an observer to parse it.
It's why all the items Simon tried to discover but failed to do so and was laughed off for were so hard to pre-Mushroom War where magic was weak. It's also implied Betty and Simon have higher degrees of creativity.
The show has always delved into dream logic, with the cosmic entity causing this entire miniseries to happen Prismo, being a dream himself that can only exist if his dreamer is asleep. What if Betty and Simon restart the loop through their reality-warping magic? That AT's cosmology, multiverse, and baseline universe was always going to start and end and start again based on these two meeting one another, albeit changed. Betty now has the power of primordial chaos, implied to shape all of reality, and Simon still has occultic knowledge and the power of the crown (wish magic), which orders chaos into form.
By combining the two, they recreate the loop each and everytime.
Interesting, but somehow I doubt they will end this story with the heat death of the universe
No doubt he'll be resuscitated by Fionna and Cake's powers somehow but the timeloop or some form of esoterica might be referenced.

I haven't rewatched any of them. They're a bit shallow, unfortunately, and probably intentionally so. At least Obsidian gave some closure for Marceline and her mother, plus showed us how her and PB have grown. Also, nice songs. Together Again was a sweet sendoff for our heroes, but didn't do much beyond that. Wizard City and BMO were cute, and fun, but again, there's not much to say. Some of AT's better episodes had a lot more depth and those were only 11 minutes. I've said this before, but I suspect that Max asked for more kid-friendly, accessible content, given the emphasis on younger characters and how the episodes were marketed. I would love to look at the demographics that actually tuned in, because I bet you it was mostly adults watching.

It was meh like many other aspects of AT were meh during the meh times. What was Missing was good and Skywitch was fun, and it had smattering of good scenes across the rest of the show but also a lot of cringe or dull scenes, like a lot of other things. Don't blame the victims, it can be good when it's made to be good

The Marceline/Bubblegum stuff felt organic and I liked delving into how other groups perceived these two immortals.
