You should have never seen Doned in Ivalice and have it be that Marche was trying to get back to his brother. At the end it could have been Montblanc was Doned the whole time

Marche is 100% Correct, the actual "issue" was the conveyance and presentation (in the english script) on how he comes to his conclusions that Ivalice is a Illusion and that destroying the Crystals will end said illusion that can make him come off as risktaking and gung-ho and basically being a kin to Glory from Buffy, someone who is more concerned about going home then the fallout that would happen and jumping at the first means that gives a shot and that is why people latch on to the idea of "Villain Marche" also because it is funny.

It's neat this exists, but I feel after Betty's merge into GOLB any hope of survival feels like a copout. I still have mixed feelings on that happening in the first place. I also feel that just reversing it feels wrong now, especially when you get a wuss like Hunson to somehow suck Betty's soul out. The only problem I really had with the finale's resolution was that we didn't see Simon reconciling with Marcie and Finn after the second episode.
Reconcile? That kinda implies that there was tension between them in the first place. He was on good terms with them before but Marcie is living her own life and Finn's lifestyle is a little too rough for him to handle. He really just needed help with his mental health but didn't want to burden Marcie.
