This. If he hates working at a restaurant so much, why doesn't he just quit and get another job? The only people I know who stuck with restaurant work have to do so because they have criminal backgrounds. I was always stressed out from working in a kitchen until I realized I could get a higher paying occupation elsewhere in a completely different industry and never have to make sandwiches again.
And don't give me the "it's his family legacy" bullshit because he remodeled the business so hard that it became literally unrecognizable. The main character's motivations don't make any sense.
You are dumb, his brother believed he could do something great so he kept him away from his bullshit, only to then entrust him with the family legacy before committing suicide. So he turned the dated and failing beef sandwich shop into his own modern dining establishment.
Why do emergency room doctors and nurses go to work every day just to deal with drug seeking addicts and idiots shoving lightbulbs up their asses. Because they love what they do. They thrive in a stressful environment. They like problem solving and getting things done. These are the same kind of people that will go insane if they had to sit still at a computer 40 hours a week.

Served for a while at a mall restaurant when I was in HS. Pretty chill for me but the main cook got the bulk of the action done, I mostly talked to customers.
6 months on the McD front
Steam and fry do or die. Three tours of the big M then pulled into a spec ops mission in BK. Lost a lot of good men to turnover but whatever your path you're a chef for life.

Ok memes aside. I worked as a line cook for 2 years during university and once I was ill and missed a day of work and my boss went berserk the next day on me ranting that he had to make 20 sandwiches himself and "hold the line" yeah odd phrase to use. Anyway he ripped into me about how we were a "unit" and I should have dragged myself in, don't remember the rest of the rambling but those phrases stood out.
I quit on the spot lmao. Chefs aren't like this (later in life I've met chefs and they're very professional and chilled out), but it's dimwit linecooks, and glorified burger flippers that act this way.

i cook all types of food at my house to eat but I still end up loving the basics grilled cheese and tomato soup, chicken tendys, chilly dogs with extra cheese, one thing i really like recently though is making my own chicken or turkey famous bowls and just eating bowls of that for a week

This is like the most boring show to ever exist, not sure how I got barely into S2, but shan't watch any further. Just some hipster music, somehow they found no chimp blacks that happen to be the greatest and get full EPS and the main superhero doesn't do fricking shit for two seasons, the whole tension just gets nullified by some random ass 2 min Music video scene and frick all happening
