>first film kino as frick with many plots that could have been split off with kate and the lawyer
>2nd film straight up mid at best, clearly lost its vision and just tried to make an action film
Any hopes for the 3rd to go back to its roots? Maybe bring back Kate to go back after Alejandro?

There isn't going to be a third one.
I thought it was in the works?
That anon is talking out of his ass as so many do
It's been way too long at this point, plus the sequel wasnt as profitable as they wanted iirc
It is, mcquarrie is writing it
Pedo shit.
How exactly?
Pedro shit
I wanted zero more Kate and the lawyer. Zero. And anyone who did is mega sus, bro.
But yes Soldado was lacking, though did fan service with Matt, Alejandro, Specs, and Monterey guy. The premise had so much promise, but was abandoned completely once the Federales blank blank blank.
I did like how Soldado started with the premise of what is America's response when terrorists sneak into the US from the southern border, but then has it turn out that didn't actually happen. I've always found it strange that despite the insecurity on our southern border, and all the people who say it will lead to terrorist attacks on US soil that's never actually happened.
why he got his coochie out
Sollima Kid is a better action director than Vileneuve
Second one is a much better movie than the boring pretentious dogshit that was the first one
frick you, day of the soldado is pretty fricking kino also.
Best past is there is no whining little c**t to break our balls, getting rid of Blunt make it all worth it
Replacing Blunt with the smug Mexican girl and nerdy Mexican boy was gay. They didn't even have the balls to kill either one, despite the scenes for both obviously existing. You can tell they reshot the helicopter intercept to spare the girl.
>race mixing characters
slopcario
Sicario was effectively a horror movie, whoever directed the second film completely missed this aspect of it and I don't think the third one is actually happening.
>Sicario was effectively a horror movie
no it wasnt
you mistake suspense for fear
Who would kidnap Moaner and not gangrape her? Her dad isn't going to pay less ransom because she's full of cum
Stupid movie
>del Toro insisted on Alejandro keeping to himself in the first movie, arguing that "less is more"
>second movie comes out
>"Acshually my daughter was deaf and that's how I know a sign language, btw have I mentioned already that you remind me of my daughter?"
>tired shit with "older man must escort a young girl to safety"
>action has no stakes whatsoever, "it's just a flesh wound lmao"
>"So you wanna be a Sicario™: Day of Soldado®?"
>del Toro insisted on Alejandro keeping to himself in the first movie, arguing that "less is more"
so the script for the movie was written and greenlit, the actor casted but then he "insisted" his role should keep to himself so they removed all the shit they wrote for him? kek.
They moved some of it to Brolin's character, which worked in movie's favor.
Sheridan's writing only works if it's in the hands of a crew more talented than him
Sicario and Hell or High Water both rock but his injun movie with renner is crap
If they make a Sicario 3, what letter will they replace with a 3 in the word Sicario?
3icario
Here's the thing about Taylor Sheridan:
All his screenplays are mid at best. Literally every one
When the director is someone like Denis Villenueve or John Hillcoat they are able to use the bones of a screenplay about Bad Men doing Bad Things to Worse Men and inject enough naunce into those characters that you get something that resonates.
When you have mediocre directors like Stefano Sollima or, god fricking forbid, Taylor Sheridan himself, instead you get the writer's unfiltered, incredibly mediocre non-message carbon-copied directly to film.
Sicario and Day of the Soldado are the most obvious example of this because it's the same writer, a lot of the same cast, and they're doing the same stuff. Denis V is what made the first movie so good, simple as.
I want Villenueve to stay away from scifi and continue doing the contemporary/historical moral thriller movies he's been doing
Polytechnique and Incendies are both magnificent films
