The problem is that following the first major arc Naruto immediately goes to shit. If it had kept up the quality of The Land of Waves arc then Naruto would be one of the greats, instead it's a joke of a series that's only liked by morons.

One piece is meh, the problem is no matter how much the story can be good every single arc from skypiea onwards is always the same shit. Every character has to have their fight and then luffy fights the main boss. And it doesnt help that every fight is them getting destroyed for no reason for 3 episodes and then with the power of asspulls and friendship they win in a single blow.
Found myself 2x speeding all fights except usopp ones.
Also noone ever dies. Im at thriller bark and the stakes are so low After a bird carrying a nuke is just fine the next episode. If he kills someone from the main crew for shock value ill just drop it.
It's also better than the entirety of the rest of Naruto, so not really a fair comparison.

Speaking of Dub, Naruto, while not the best dub of all time, was tied with bleach in having the best dub cast, and then literally lost like 2/3s of its best actors by Boruto. Also happened to bleach, which is also dubbed by the same company and staff.
