>First movie is actually pretty funny and entertaining
>Second movie is directed by Misadventures of Flapjack dude
>I expect it to be just as good, or maybe slightly better
>It's way worse and way less focused with only a few funny gags

Well, that's disappointing.

To be fair. The first film had some bad timing being released during that migration crisis. I remember seeing that first trailer being like whoa.

I don't see the connection between Muslim migrants and an invasion of pigs that like explosions and stealing babies.

The first one was really mediocre, not bad bye any means, but forgettable. The second one is a huge inprovement and it's very hilarious and cartoonny, the frick are you talking about? A shame It bombed at the box office and almost nobody remembers this, except some spergs, unfortunatetly.

    Also this line.
-"this right here...is obviously...A new guy!!
-"Yeah, impostors in a costume!...wait, what?"

Second one is a disjointed mess. The chicks babysitting the egg is a bunch of filler, Red's character arc is way less satisfying than the first movie, and it feels like they struggled to figure out what to do with a bunch of characters. It's like they wrote it with the intent of being a heist movie, but their entire heist is improvising. There's also a bunch of really forced pop song moments that seem to exist for the sake of it-- like, even moreso than the first movie.

I agree with the pop songs being probably the most weaker thing of the film, but sometimes works in certain moments and in general doesn't reach the point of making the film unbearable, and the film has enough wit in most of his gags. The idea of making this a heist movie is funny and well executed, the animation is more colorful and vibrant than the first one, and the hatchlings segments, despite being kinda a Scrat's knock-off, has some really great and very surreal gags (like the "balloon" one).

    >"hey Red, it's good to see you! :)"
    >"I wish I could say the same"...... "Why am I so lonely and with 0 friends? :/"

Red was a b***h and every bird in the first movie is an insufferable moron.
