i catched this movie on tv and all i saw was him landing the plane by a church i think? But then the movie continued with an investigation and i fell asleep, did i watch the ending or was the movie just starting?

The junkie chick should have been either a bigger or smaller part of the movie. As it is there was no reason to not have introduced her in the hospital, it was disruptive to the crash sequence to keep cutting to her trying to get drugs. She was absent for the entire third act so why not just keep her contained to the second? What did she add to the first apart from disrupting the pacing, the crash is the entire goddamn point of the movie.
Kino film otherwise. John Goodman was great.
