Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning tracking for a "soft" 45 million opening
It's expected to get steam rolled by Oppenheimer and Barbie (comes out 1 week before these two Titans)
Do audiences not care about these movies anymore or is this just a terrible slot to place your movie? I bet this wouldve been a bigger success if they released it earlier in the year
It's All Fucked Shirt $22.14 |
It's All Fucked Shirt $22.14 |
It's a straight-to-torrent type of flick
Barbie is the only one that will make any money
>Flash flops
>Indiana flops
>even cruise flops
what is happening
theory: the reported "tracking" for movies is low because it is only about people who buy tickets in advance but it ends up becoming a self-fullfilling prophecy sort of where normies hear that "no one is buying tickets to the flash/its gonna flop" so people who might have went out and bought ticket on the day just decide not to go leading it to the movies flopping.
It's the reporting of advance ticket sales being low that causes movies to flop
>so people who might have went out and bought ticket on the day just decide not to go
exactly. psyop shit is real
>theory: the reported "tracking" for movies is low because it is only about people who buy tickets in advance but it ends up becoming a self-fullfilling prophecy
But tracking for recent flops (particularly Flash and TLM) has been overblown and missed the mark by tens of millions of dollars. Trackings have often become a disguised propaganda tool for studios. Another example: Barbie will NOT open to $80 mil, that's a PR fabrication.
This thread though is based on a mentally-ill lie, as MI7 will make much more money in its OW
I think people are legitimately tired of seeing the same brands over and over. Hollywood has leaned on that crutch more than at any other point in time, and there might actually be a point where the oversaturation backfires
>Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning tracking for a "soft" 45 million opening
Bullshit. Stop inventing idiotic nonsense, you can't be that desperate for (You)s
Don't care, will still see
I want a film where she sexually tortures Bunny, Lizzie Olsen, and Jenna Ortega.
You're either a liar or a dimwit, it's tracking for at least 2x that:
>Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning, Part One is tracking for a franchise-best opening in the $90 million range at the domestic box office in its first five days, a huge start for the July tentpole. And there’s plenty of upside, according to polling.
They really did smart by dumping every single movie in same few months during recession
How can you blame the recession when Mario and Avatar both just made over a billion? And Top Gun made a shit ton just last year
people will shell out for a perceived 'must see at the theater' (eg IMAX) experience. Anything else can be streamed
Mario definitely does not fit in that category though
I think Mario just has a really huge appeal along a broad age range, is young child friendly so great family movie, and Chris Pratt. I honestly don't know how he does it but he puts asses in seats
>all movies with whites leads are “flopping”
>Black person Man is a success
Yeah sure thing, Larry, how much money is left in the ESF funding to keep up the charade
>It's expected to get steam rolled by Oppenheimer and Barbie
Cruise promoted both of these movies lmao
cope
he's turning into joe biden
>Literally lying
Disneyshills are pathetic
Jesus Christ, why THE FRICK do you obsess over box office results?
>New Mission Impossible
>Barbie
>Oppenheimer
I thought movies were supposed to be dead. Here we have 3 must see kinos all at the same time.
>sequel 15 to a tired franchise
>movie about girl toys starring 40 year olds
>le bombs... kill people?
Yeah, what an year...
You have to be moronic to think that a Cruise movie can fail. Lol, lmao even.
Last week anyone would say it about indiana jones
Not really? No one was looking forward to this movie after crystal skull. Mission impossible is an ongoing franchise that hasn’t had a bad movie yet
Imagine embarrassing oneself so much by making a thread saying MI7 is tracking for an initial $45 mil only when it's gonna make twice that at least. I would never post again
The MI sequels just feel like Tom Cruise & Friends. The last few especially feel so interchangeable, with no fear for any of the characters dying.
who cares, it's awesome cruise-kino
Money is a factor now, with summer vacations and such people have to budget what they can do with their shrinking dollars, and mediocre movies (at least at the theater) are lower on the list.
tldr; mf's are broke
>It's expected to get steam rolled by Oppenheimer and Barbie
lol wut
They should have brought back Emilio Esteves
I will be seeing this on premiere night and buying a large popcorn, cookie dough bites and coca cola
serious question: are there actual people that are excited for BARBIE?
I am genuinely excited for my barbieheimer double feature, yes.
Only if you consider a handful of gays and stunted roasties "people"
The previous two McQuarrie MI’s were shit movies, did everyone suddenly realize it? Too bad we’re getting another one instead of actually good action movies like 13 hours.
I shall be watching
>comes out 1 week before Barbieheimer
That's rough timing. I'm gonna see it in the theater and I hope it does great, loved the other movies.
I'm seeing it
I'll probably see it honestly. I like cruise kino.
are you moronic?
Also Avatar was in the winter & had zero competition at the box office for weeks
It might not make huge money, but I hope it is a good well made action movie at least. Those are rare these days
honestly don't care about the other two ~~*movies*~~. This one will be better than both.
only reasons to go the the cinema:
* c. nolan
* d. villeneuve
* t. cruise
this is an undispiatable fact
& to whack a president or hide after (allegedly) whacking one lol
