The alternative history stuff is kino, but the show does occasionally get bogged down in soap opera tier stuff which ranges between okay and dull. Overall I'd say it's worth watching.
There's enough that I kept at it, but there's definitely times where the show drags because I just could not give a shit who the astronaut's wife was thinking of sleeping with and it felt like padding because the sci-fi stuff is really expensive.
It's ok if you're used to shutting your brain off. For characters that are supposed to be geniuses they sure do a bunch of stupid shit. Also, it gets tiring that everything they do ends in disaster.
There's some cool space nerd stuff in there, but the plot keeps requiring that the most absolutely mentally defective and maladjusted people on the planet are sent into space in order for drama to occur.
Some of the social justice stuff is also intolerable. Like a gay who steals the spotlight of the first mars mission to announce to the entire universe that he is gay and we're supposed to be on his side when people are upset about this attention seeking moron.
There's no show I know of that does alt history space race stuff in the same way though which is why I watch it.

Yes, military astronauts plagued by toxic masculinity. Why do you think all of the real space missions ended in disaster?
no
it's a female show pretending to be a male show
get ready for dramatic overreacting about every small thing and pointless dialogue that traverses nothing but a tiring amount fo exposition
and don't even get me started on the scenes with women
So in season 1 NASA decides they want to put a permanent base on the moon ASAP. They've already had Skylab in the pipeline, but they figure if they modify it they can turn it into a moon base. The design they came up with is frickin kino. You get to see it do a self-powered-landing on the moon and it's just stunning to watch. Makes me sad that the space race ended.
Season 4 of SENPAI is kinda weak cuz Ed is getting very long in the tooth, but seasons 1-3 were absolutely great. Much as it pains me to compliment Apple.
season 4 is kinda weak because there's not really any big stakes or forward momentum
an asteroid full of minerals doesn't feel as the goals in previous seasons (mars, etc.), but it did kinda feel like setup for season 5
I liked it better than S3 tbhdesu. 3 had the lesbo president plot that was both gay and completely parasitic on the rest of the show. S4 had the least gay shit out of any season. My main complaint is the lack of actual space scenes, it was all plantetside except for the intro, finale and 1 shot in the middle.
They like to pretend like the guys are always on the verge of beating the shit out of their wives and that the wives in every marriage are deeply unhappy.
It's like an unhinged tom Clancy plot but instead of focusing on high tech weapons and pregnant women it's about every NASA engineers wet dream being made real.
no. 90% of it is devoted to the "alternative history" of "what if nasa hired more women and minorities and then proceeded to be second/third to every milestone of a continued space race"

Yeah. The news reels alone are kino.
Made for US audience
Apple
Certified slop
Severance is the only other show I know from Apple and I liked it
"See" was decent. Momoa and Bautista were great in it.
Show is over, it's easily bingeable.
Extremely. It’s quite possibly my favorite scifi show of all time. It’s amazing.
Also surprisingly good. I also recommend Slow Horses. It’s Oldman kino.
Yeah it's cool.
Yeah, it's not enough manly for me but it's still really good.

Ah, so not a lot of science-fiction?
There's enough that I kept at it, but there's definitely times where the show drags because I just could not give a shit who the astronaut's wife was thinking of sleeping with and it felt like padding because the sci-fi stuff is really expensive.
plenty of space stuff and by season 3 it's basically a sci-fi

dear god no run

I liked the Margo subplot this season. I love Margo.

It's Kino of the Highest Order.

>like the actors
>the show is just WOMEN GUD
Shame
There is an evil woman in last season

not really, it's a show for women
the writing is pretty weak on top of that
has a few moments
At first it seemed a bit slow at times and I was afraid it would just be treading water non-stop with family drama.
But the show really delivers on the alternative space exploration history. Definitely recommended for anyone interested in space colonization.
