Well congrats you're wrong
I didn't get the hype
2 > 4 > 6 > 1 > 3 > 5
5 isn't a film without ambition but it's the only ToS film that's actually bad.
Everyone on earth has dealt with or will deal with getting old.
- Spock dies
- Shatner goes full Shat
- James Horner goes balls out and thunderously declares 'here are my balls'
- Montalban literally eats the entire movie
- Epic navy battles in space
- It has more poetry and profundity and humanity than the fricking Bible
I mean holy fricking jesus shit christ man it's a god damn masterpiece
The Undiscovered Country is also very, very good though
would it have been better if it ended the same way the episode did?
No
i think it would have been better
They already did it once why do it again
Also Wrath of Khan is an epic revenge story which constantly references Moby Dick several times and pretty much mandates that it climaxes with its zealous pursuer of vengeance coming to a bitter and fatal end
Maybe we can just settle it and say they are the best movies in their decade. The 80's and 90's.
Well you'd both be wrong bc it has clearly always been The motion picture
Wisepilled.
Didn't care for the uniforms but other than that, it's 10/10
The people who say it wasn't like classic TOS have never seen classic TOS.
No. If want to see TOS version of The Motion Picture watch episode The Changeling with NoMad.
Thats like saying you rather watch Space Seed over Wrath of Khan
No it’s not. Changeling is less boring than Motion Picture and only 40 minutes
Despite what the moron right above you thinks WoK doesn't end with Kirk punching Superman in the face until he goes away.
The film has some rather key differences to separate it from Space Seed.
I mean you're moronic because WoK is half piss take of what Space Seed was.
>The Changeling
the founders?
the best space odyssey movie
Admits it stole the idea from space odyssey
Admits it stole the idea from star wars
And?
They’re both by same director and the man that single handily saved Star Trek. Nicholas Meyer. Roddenberry was hack. Star Trek became a success in spite its him. He wanted a boring liberal utopia. Network hated it and wanted a space western. Hence original series. Roddenberry boring awful Motion Picture nearly killed the franchise. Studio sidelines Roddenberry and Myers comes in and the second movie exciting Mobey Dick in space. Worst season is NG where first ones when Roddenberry was alive
Nah he was right, boring procedural is the best Trek
No. It was awful. Roddenberry literally wanted zero human conflict. He felt we’d evolved past that and money and pretty much everything a delusion commie thinks. Who frick wants to see that?
Me
Horner's score was awesome.
They're neck and neck for me. Wrath of Khan is probably objectively better.
Bothers me that it's the wrong Klingon ship firing on the Enterprise
what do you mean
On the poster, it shows a Klingon Battlecruiser firing on the Enterprise but in the film it was a Bird of Prey
Whatever happened to the composer? He had a great score here and seemed like he dropped off movies after that.
For me, it's Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
2 > 4 > 6 > 1 > 3 > 5
1 >> 4 > 3 > 2 > 6 >> 5
Yes
1 > 4 > 6 = 2 > 3 > First Contact > Insurrection >> Generations > 5 = Nemesis
generations made me want to kill myself
1=2=3=4=5=6
i love star trek
Childhood
Adulthood
kys
least immature communist
WoK is overrated and it's dumb action schlock.
He says in the thread for a Tom Clancy movie with a coat of paint.
Except even TUC is less action oriented than WoK. At least there's a fricking message in TUC. WoK is just a revenge action movie.
So basically Moby Dick sucks and just a revenge story? TUC about accepting barbaric space Black folk
Do me a favor. Go watch WoK and then actually watch or read Moby Dick. WoK is shit tier compared to it.
I’ve read Moby Dick and WOK is one best adaptions of it.
You're a fricking liar with a low IQ. If I met you IRL I would stomp your skull in. That's a quote from Star Trek btw.
Are you Roddenberry’s kid? Sorry kid, your pops was a hack
Probably my least favorite part of the film is Montalban quoting the novel directly like we didn't fricking get it.
I have to say The Motion Picture, Wrath of Kahn, Final Frontier, and Undiscovered Country are the best ideas for Star Trek films. They all try to take something from ToS past and riff on it. Some are more successful than others but taking the Swashbuckler or the "I'm a strong independent humanist who don't need no God" and trying to see where that goes 20 years later is pure Trek.
I don't hate 3 or 4 but they're really kind of films for the sake of being related to the Meyer's films.
Ok Roddenberry ass licker
Nemesis is underrated. Great score, interesting dynamic with the whole nature V nurture thing, good space battles and visuals in general, etc.
Why’d he do it?
?si=LaSifhY_Z2_wUFak
Klingon autism.
1>2>6>First Contact>4=3>Insurrection>Generations>>>>>5
I refuse to acknowledge Nemesis and everything that followed as canon, and only SNW as canon alternate universe.
you must have brain damage to make that list. You rate 1 as the best but first contact over 4? Did the babysitter suck your dick while watching first contact or something?
calm down sperg
4 is a bit campy and lacks some excitement, first contact at least is a good adventure story with a lot of energy.
Sneed
Very bad bait.
Here's your (You)
I hate everything now.
I agree. I liked that one too.
>Not watching Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
