Someone in the last Zooey Deschanel thread made the point that the actors who come to exemplify the generation (Zooey for millennials, Zendaya for zoomers, he had a good boomer example) were actually born a year before their generation started and are technically members of the preceding generation.

So Zooey is technically a Gen Xer despite being the living embodiment of “millennial girl.”

Funny I just had a conversation with some friends about how most people view decades as what is ultimately the beginning of the next decade. Early 90s we’re more 80s, early 2000s we’re still 90s style, etc. Takes a while for all those “cultural shifts” to ramp up I suppose

Seriously though, women juat can't seem to get blowjobs right. Putting their mouths around it and bobbing their heads up and down just doesn't do it for me. It's all in the lips and the tongue, but even then the hands should do most of the work.

          >the chart made by corporations says she's Gen X therefore she is
A 15 year old and a 0 year old are not the same generation. I don't care what some nameless faceless authority figures say. Zooey Deschanel is a millennial. End of story.

            Anonymous

What are your cutoffs for the generations? This is the cart from the guys who came up with the generational pseudoscience and wrote the book that spawned these generations being named, so it's what I go by.

              Anonymous

The people who came up with the generational pseudoscience actually had even more moronic ranges (Gen X - 1965-1984, millennial - 1985-2004). I think generations should be at most around 7 years because that's the furthest people will possibly be able to relate to each other. If you consider someone born in 1981 and someone born in 1996 to both be the same generation the labels are effectively meaningless at that point. Someone born in 1981 was in college or the workforce during 9/11 while someone born in 1996 was watching Dora in kindergarten. Not the same generation. The lab coats who decided this shit can suck it.

A lot of it is pseudoscience, but there's some new stuff that does show there are some real cohort preferences.

I was born in 1985 and I'm nothing like someone who graduated in 2014. I don't care what the lab coats who come up with this shit say. 1992 is the latest I'll accept someone as a millennial. Beyond that and you're all zoomers in my book.

            Anonymous

Millennials have more in common with zoomers than GenXers just because we came along during the tech boom, still learning to manage its benefits and disruptions. As someone born in '84, I can tell you that Hailee is more millennial than she is zoomer. You may not like it, but the chart is accurate.

              >some born in '84
I'm calling bullshit. Us millennials are 90s kids. Someone born in 1996 doesn't even remember the 90s and was still in high school in 2013. Frick off larping zoomie, she's one of yours.

Millennials are mostly 80s and 90s kids with the 80s kids having vivid memories of the 90s since they were actually living teenagers in the 90s and not still learning their ABCs. "Millennial" gen are supposed to represent those kids coming of age by 2000 like hitting their 18s and 20s. Ppl born int he 80s are more "millennial" than those born in the 90s.

No, that's moronic. It's all based on the baby boom and you work forward and backward from that because that's where you have a giant bulge in the distribution of births and subsquent "echoes" that form these cohorts.
