There was (I assume) a couple beside me and the chick started bawling her eyes out, the guy did nothing to console her and I heard her cry for the rest of the movie. I say them outside after, they hugged and split ways without saying much.
Definitely heard some sniffles in the theatre throughout the movie, the blatant emotional manipiulation kinda pissed me off. From the very moment you see these creatures first appear on screen you know they're going to meet some tragic end. Makes every happy scene involving them feel disingenuous.
I know but for some reason in this movie it felt cheap, maybe because I could see what Gunn was trying to do in real time. He didn't make any effort to obfuscate the plot from the meta narrative. Otherwise the movie was pretty good.
>From the very moment you see these creatures first appear on screen you know they're going to meet some tragic end.
I honestly didn't. I figured they were going to reunite with Rocket in present day and that would be the way they wrote him off the team/out of the series.
What a stupid pleb. Did he not understand that the crushing dread of these animal's doomed existences is perfectly counteracted by the dad rock montages and Mantis falling on her face? Pearls before swine.
No noticeable reaction but I did break down crying like a bitch when Floor started panicking and then got shot because I had to put down my pet rabbit two months ago. He was pushing 13 and was starting to lose all motor function. Miss that little guy like you wouldn’t believe.
I think if you want a childlike character to grovel for their life or confront their mortality it should be in the service of their character arc or building tension and they shouldn't actually die immediately after.
The way they did it was really cruel and callous. Like twisting the knife. I'm sure there are places where that works narratively like in a holocaust film or an Eli Roth style spectacle of suffering but it absolutely does not fit a Marvel movie.
>Go to visit my father for a week and his new wife >see I am Legend >Dog does and step mom begins to burst into tears >After the movie she asks me what I thought of it >”I thought it was pretty cool” >”Ahhhh but what about them killing the dog ANON! How can you like a sick movie like that!?” >Was never invited to stay with my dad again.
>What's this movie
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. >is it a rabbit with one of those saw reverse bear traps on it's face?
Essentially. The "bear trap" is its mouth. It's one of the other 'enhanced' animals from the lab where Rocket originated.
I don't understand why the high evolutionary would experiment with cybernetics in the first place if his goal is do everything genetically
Is it supposed to be like he gives an otter cyber arms as a placeholder for evolved arms in a later batch?
Yeah he was working from the ground up. Rockets group were supposed to be retarded freaks. It pissed him off that a member of “retard batch” was better then his newest batch.
>character is dying and walks towards the light >"it's so wonderful here" >"can I join you?" >"yes... but not yet..." >character is suddenly revived
Tired thiest propaganda
is dying and walks towards the light >>"it's so shitty here" >>"can I just go back?" >>"nah... 43 year shift starts tomorroe..."
is suddenly wishing he let that kid get hit by the car
As a former animal abuser who later repented of his sins & found Christ, this film made me tear up and had an unintentional faith based message about how beauty triumphs over any ambitions by mortal men. I did some rotten things as a kid & I could say I was like the High Evolutionary.
It sucks because animals have mortal souls so that's why most of us love them, knowing it's just one shot for them.
No person who's cruel to animals can enter Heaven but Christ can also forgive any sin and change a repenting person.
a black guy in front of me said YOOOOOO THEY DEAD?
Kek that's awesome
I know right? I love black people!
black commentary improves most movies
I sat next to a black dude when I saw The Killing Joke in theaters and when Barb and Bruce started fucking he said "Aw hell no"
N
there were like five other people in the theater anon
What is this? Animal abuse in a marvel film?
It's mostly implied really.
its all CGI anon
here's how that scene looked in reality
lel
Why would they need a green screen for an entirely cgi scene devoid of real actors?
This is how it looked like IRL.
screams kino to me
Hiding Mikaela hoover behind CGI is not cool though. She looked great as the Xandarian hottie in GOTG1.
true, she could have easily had a cameo as one of the worker characters or something
Re-Cast her as Rikki Ryder, make her Nova.
There was (I assume) a couple beside me and the chick started bawling her eyes out, the guy did nothing to console her and I heard her cry for the rest of the movie. I say them outside after, they hugged and split ways without saying much.
Was the girl Jen Con?
maybe
Why didn’t you put your hand on her leg or at least rub her under the handrest like a creep
what happens to this lil fella?
Shot off screen then shown as a dead lump. From the moment you see them first you know it wasn't going to end well
"Since You Been Gone" plays as we see them have fun together.
> Since You Been Gone.
goes to bed and sleeps a while
so cute. i want to hit it with a sledgehammer. imagine it lying on the ground left leg in the air twitching.
I actually shed tears.
you're a big guy
People were upset. I think alot of people were crying. Those scenes definitely got to people.
>James Gunn hates rabbits
And now I hate James Gunn
How can a fire that burns so brightly...
Definitely had Watership Down and Plague Dogs.
Watership Down especially IMHO should be compulsory viewing for children IMHO. Kids need to know the world is a nasty place.
Definitely heard some sniffles in the theatre throughout the movie, the blatant emotional manipiulation kinda pissed me off. From the very moment you see these creatures first appear on screen you know they're going to meet some tragic end. Makes every happy scene involving them feel disingenuous.
>emotional manipiulation
all movies are emotional manipulation
I know but for some reason in this movie it felt cheap, maybe because I could see what Gunn was trying to do in real time. He didn't make any effort to obfuscate the plot from the meta narrative. Otherwise the movie was pretty good.
Arcane did the same. This will be a trend from now on.
>From the very moment you see these creatures first appear on screen you know they're going to meet some tragic end.
I honestly didn't. I figured they were going to reunite with Rocket in present day and that would be the way they wrote him off the team/out of the series.
A kid nearby started crying just by looking at them, parents tried to calm him down but when shit got real they just took him and left
What a stupid pleb. Did he not understand that the crushing dread of these animal's doomed existences is perfectly counteracted by the dad rock montages and Mantis falling on her face? Pearls before swine.
It's good to have friends
No noticeable reaction but I did break down crying like a bitch when Floor started panicking and then got shot because I had to put down my pet rabbit two months ago. He was pushing 13 and was starting to lose all motor function. Miss that little guy like you wouldn’t believe.
>when Floor started panicking
I felt like the movie crossed a line here
It was very distasteful
Why distasteful?

You probably gave that rabbit a wonderful life.

they sound retarded
What's this movie
Actually what am I even looking at, is it a rabbit with one of those saw reverse bear traps on it's face?

>is it a rabbit with one of those saw reverse bear traps on it's face?
Essentially. The "bear trap" is its mouth. It's one of the other 'enhanced' animals from the lab where Rocket originated.
I get that cute crippled animals makes it sadder when they die but why was Rocket the only one not missing limbs?
I don't understand why the high evolutionary would experiment with cybernetics in the first place if his goal is do everything genetically

Gods literally exist in the marvel universe.

To this day, I feel sorrow for the things I’ve done & haven’t hurt an animal since my childhood. I deserve hell for the things I’ve done.
“keep thy mind in Hell and despair not,”

Idiot ESL.

do people really cry over this
Kid clipping the ducks feet off with scissors in The House that Jack Built
Hit it with a sledgehammer. Aim for the eyes.
I felt nothing because everything about these scenes are predictable.
This is on par with Up for baby's first sad scene.
I used to be like you when I was younger. I'm 36 now and shit like this makes me cry like a bitch. I've gotten too sentimental.
That's normal but know and accept that this movie was very manipulative.
Am i supposed to guess what movie this is from?
Yes.
Fieval goes west?
>"We'll all fly away together... Somewhere out there."
