All I remember of this film is it staring at me every time I went to video ezy.
same
also this one too. never ended up renting either but I vividly remember seeing them on the shelf
Watch it. It's good
this is a masterpiece, greatest gore movie and the camera work is excellent
Lol same
yup same, united video it was always there in the horror section
lmao same
One of Peter Jackson's first films. Great movie, hilariously gory.
>Oh my god you are a fricking ghost
Yuck.
>Character quickly accepts that the spectral little girl hanging around a derelict ship is a ghost instead of continuously denying it in face of insurmountable evidence because of LE RATIONALITY
It was refreshing.
I feel like horror films get this wrong every time. Humans are by nature prone to believing irrational bullshit.
A true skeptic might dismiss a claim of paranormal, but a person experiencing what could easily be considered paranormal activity would sooner believe what they're seeing than a more convoluted explanation.
In other words, a person seeing a ghost is going to think it's a ghost. Not try and rationalize it and call it a "thing" or some other bullshit that comes off as someone trying really hard to impress a skeptic. But every film comes to that concluson.
>ahh I see a ghost but I'm going to call it a thing or something I don't understand because ghosts aren't real ahhhh!
This. Psychology doesn't operate on rational stimuli. As far as your brain is concerned, supernatural events are possible because you've witnessed them innumerable times in fiction and in dreams.
I often find myself mentally including 'what if I clip into another dimension' and 'what if everyone starts attacking each other' in possible outcomes for normal interactions with spaces or people.
>I often find myself mentally including crazy shit
literal schizo shit.
Ok npc

Even captcha is sending you messages about paranoid delusions.
I think you're reading too much into things, anon. You sound like a crazy unhinged guy!

>no one bothers to stop a clear murderer in broad daylight because it's New York
I miss when horror had humor
Tbh, it was 80s New York. Jason was probably not even the wildest sight seen on the streets that night.
As someone who lives 30 minutes from NYC, that's exactly how New Yorkers are. They rudely never look at you in the face, wave or help people without demanding a financial gain. They talk way too fast among them impossible to understand and then they get all pissed off when you didn't understand what they said. They're filthy and always carrying at least one disease on them. All of them think THEIR burrow is the best. All of them are some degree of racist towards AT LEAST 3 different demographics. They think crime, rats and diseased railways are normal.
Jason would fit right in and no one would bat an eye. The only hard to believe part of the NYC section of the movie was that Jason was able to follow the protags as they should've easily been able to disappear in a crowd.
id watch it
>kills the rapists but let the b***h go with a nod
Not my Jason
>Jason hates horny buttholes because he was neglected by them
>Spares the girl who is being sexually abused by horny buttholes
It tracks.
>that moment where the dude tries to frick that sexy ass girl from behind and falls down an elevator shaft
Worth it for a whiff of her ghost pusy.
>searching up this scene on Dailymotion as teen
>for reasons
that black guy literally fell for her and made me like necro stuff
what kinda of necro stuff?
the last time i slapt mine meat was to
lucker the necrophagus
pretty standard stuff
wanked to this one a few times too
for me it's
nice, have not watched.
on list now.
enjoy.
She looks like she has a "bad poosy"
based savastaposter
I wonder what the last name of the producer for that is
damn
Great ass and breasts
This the one with the girl with those lips?
Is this a joke? Ghost ship was shit!
You sound like you enjoy films produced by A24
a couple of stinkers but kino list
such a based chart. I never thought this kind of movie would be reduceable to a genre, that's just how movies were. Where do the years go?
>Eurotrip
homie wut?
mi'scusi
>he didn't think the Vandersexxx rape dungeon scene was horrific
gay
>wut
Underage ban
Scotty?
Joy Ride was so fricking based
House on haunted hill remake has a severely under-rated script and great actubg by geoffery Rush. Only problem with it is the bad fog monster at the end.
>Frog monster
Its a Merman and it was the production team's most anticipated practical effect. They all REALLY wanted to get the blood shooting out of the blow-hole just right.
Deep rising is so fricking cool
>The Haunting isn't on the list
Shit list. What are some more movies with absolutely kino house architecture like this?
Rose Red
They are about the only two haunted house movies where the house is gigantic
>forgetting Crimson Peak
Eurotrip is great and all, but wut?
It's sad that movies the past decade or two have been so shitty they make these cheesy movies better then they were. Most of those movies were shit when they came out but are watchable now because they remind us of better times.
Some of those movies I really liked when they came out though like Joy Ride and Ghosts of Mars but the rest were shit.
Never watched this just remember being freaked out by the cover while walking through the video store
same. watched it less than a year ago. it was ok. reminds me of the House On Haunted Hill remake somewhat.
>[OMINOUS HEAVY METAL STARTS PLAYING]
i genuinely loved that ending , it randomly pops up in my head from time to time
frickin kino
first final destination is breddy gud
the others aren't that great but the ending to the last one is pretty frickin kino
The last Final Destination also produced this kino music video.
it was a different time. Frankly a better time
Kino ending honestly
Leatherface - Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 (1990)
Pros!
> Back to being serious toned after the awful parody nature of 2, good amount of suspense.
> Probably the 3rd best mask design for Leatherface of the series after 03 & the original, none of the troony implications.
> Viggo Mortensen is a very good side villain.
> Ken Foree (dawn of the dead) & the lead actress are solid.
> Decent to good score & music choices.
Mixed Elements!
> The cannibal family is well acted but none of them are as glaringly iconic/memorable as those from 74, 2 or the Sheriff in the 03 timeline.
Cons!
> Not enough kills.
>doesn't like tcm 2
Opinion discarded even if I agree with the rest.
3 got its kills axed by the mpaa
cool
>you now remember the wire scene
thought you were talkin about rashod and bubbles in the wire when he takes that hot shot lol
>you now remember the implied rape of an underage emily browning
Great opening scene and a great ending. The bulk of the film is only ok but it leaves a good impression.
The scene where the ghost girl revisits the massacre was also pretty good.
what the frick
Kino music video
FUN FACT: The cast hated working on it since they signed on for a psychological thriller with vague supernatural elements and the studio rewrote it into a slasher film after they got everyone under contract.
FUN FACT: Island of Doctor Moreau had very similar issues, but starred Val Kilmer and Marlon Brando - actual stars. No offense to Julianna Marguiles and her boyfriend from E.R., but they were going anywhere. They got paid to be in a film and frick eachother. Meanwhile, nobody took a crack at Miss Browning? Nah, you know Gabriel Byrne was showing her the ropes. Big white ropes. They shoulda called it Rape Ship.
>Meanwhile, nobody took a crack at Miss Browning?
You ever watch "The Uninvited"? Cool little horror movie.
Decent movie. Really made me want to sit on her face and rub my dirthole on her dsl
Her DSLs are other worldly. Her leaks were nice too. She got a cute lil sunburnt heiny. Add she orders room service topless.
Wish she was a bigger star.
I always wondered how that group of hacks managed such authentic performances
>psychological thriller with vague supernatural elements
sounds fricking shit. Actors are moronic
>the arguments, the tension and resentful atmosphere were real
kino
that little ghost girl was kino
haven't seen season 2 yet ,but i liked most of Masters of Horror
I miss horror anthologies. There's some really great ones late 90s/early 2000s
This movie has that scene where they nail his scrotum to a chair.
That's such an insane movie, thanks for reminding me
I liked Ghost Ship a lot better than Triangle
This. Triangle is 2deep4u absurdity
In my opinion this one’s really good
This is good fun, the whole series
I use to see this at the rental place as a kid. The cover scared me too much to watch it. So I made my mom rent Ernest Goes to Camp for the 20th time.
will we ever get the OG cut?
Nope, Hollywood israelites were too cheap to store the negatives properly and they degraded in an old salt mine in romania or some shit, its gone forever
Imagine filming all that shit, just to be reduced to 5 seconds of epilepsy, what a waste

Why are zoomers obsessed with the legality of everything? Also all those movies are shit, you just posted them because they're LE FREE AND LEGAL!!!! Everything is free on the internet moron
"Within the rock" is no go on my tubi (aus). I didnt think they'd region lock some random shit like that.
Just got the new limited edition blu-ray it’s kino

Night of the Demons. Childhood based horror. Also still has a pretty creepy uneasy feel which means while a fun movie it does have enough spooky in it to be good horror
Basically great atmosphere
The Dead (2010), pure zombie kino set in Africa
This sounds interesting. Also, checked
>HEY O'CONNEL!!! LOOKS LIKE I'VE GOT ALL THE CORPSES!
Kek I watched the second one where it's a white guy in India
based kinographie de Steve Beck
By the way. Entire movie is on YouTube for free. Enjoy. If you haven't seen this, trust me you'll enjoy it. Honestly a good mix of comedy and great atmosphere. Used to be pretty creeped out when I was younger watching this
Don't exactly remember how my older siblings found this. We just had it on VHS .
The fact that it was shot in an actual house that just looked like that is insane to me. Makes me wish it had been used for a better movie, it's not like Night of the Demons is the shittiest film ever or something but it's only got maybe 30 minutes worth of actual story and the rest of the runtime is everyone running around the house in a panic and I lose interest after a while.
Virus does the same vibe. just more techno alien prostitute
>what does it want
>lists spare parts...human parts
*Prime Emily Browning
Agree with all the rest.
now that's one "triangle" I wanna get lost in forever...
>think it's going to do something interesting with her refusing to follow the horror movie plot plan
>nope, she gives in to the timewarp shit and then you just have to sit around and wait for everything to happen
>they thought they were going to save it by having a shitty epic tweest at the end but it was just bad
What film is this? I must know
she has such a tight little bush
hnnnnnggggggg
Cinderella.
see this stuff is truly horrifying
i'm not stupid enough to check out spooky basements and whatever dumb horror movie decision people usually make, but if the trap that kills me is a 10/10 babe then i would absolutely fall for it.
>the trap
Interesting choice of words.
NOT WHAT I MEANT
like that guy who got sacrificed in Tijuana
Mark Kilroy?
yeah. imagine how many die unreported
read about it for the first time just now after googling your comment , genuinely creepy shit .
>15 other bodies found on the ranch
>"all rival narcos"
I hope they were..
searched up movies based on it and found Borderlands , seen it mentioned a lot here
kinda tempted to see it now
Unironically one of the worst movies I have ever seen
Holy shit. The way he was killed was awful. Before that he was tortured and sodomized for hours.
yeah, god damn.
torture is one thing ,but fricking multi hour sodomy
jesus
>Mark Kilroy
Heard that in a podcast. That guy was pure evil. The slow torture he inflicted on people.
Well I read about that and now I can’t go to sleep
I’m now re-reading the story of those two Dutch girls who got lost in Panama…what a nightmare way to go
checked out the the Dutch girls stuff , pretty neat
who knew Wikipedia had horror kino.
the redhead Kris had kino booba tbh
It was those breasts that got them killed, 100%
One night I spent over two hours peering at this image. That's a plant, right? The perspective looks wrong for a body..
it's got to be a plant
right?
it's not odd to anyone else that they never found their thongs and bras?
They pretty much concluded the girls were raped and murdered. It just wasn't broadcasted in the media bc it hurts the tourist economy.
It was a dead give away when they found the girls stuff in a neatly arranged position a month or so later all clean.
Yeah man when I rape and murder someone I always clean and fold their clothes after.
it's 90s kino and starts damn near right off the bat
Salma Hayek, Famke Jansen, Jordana Brewster, plus the blonde no-name.
90s really appreciated women.
Not Falling at the end one of the best movie endings OAT
I didn't remember this movie having famous people in it
that movie is super forgotten. basically just body horror porn for 90 minutes.
Really? Dang, I hate body horror
>machine thing destroys the tugboat instead of using its radio to spread around the world
this is dumb
was it ever implied it worked like that? I think it was just a localized beam of living electricity or whatever
Yeah, the russian girl smashed all radios on the ship to avoid the thing from leaving, not just cutting the electricity
I'm just finishing rewatching it cause I had time to kill and the russian girl says she smashed the transmitters and they actually do use a radio which sutherland shoots because he still wants to salvage a ship full of murderous robots. anyway I think the implication is the virus needs a big transmitter dish type deal not just a radio
movie does kinda suck now that I'm not 12, designs and effects are kinda neato but pretty dumb that they're so worried about a few moronic replicator robots and cyborgs
Donald Sutherland's performance and the puppetry carried the shit out of this.
the eradication of the DVD aftermarket really was what killed cinema
big if true
Matt Damon mentioned something to that effect on Hot Ones
Elaborate please, like second-hand shops that have diminished because of digital distribution?
outsourcing your movies to streaming services doesnt generate dick ass revenue, which is why all production companies are now panicking and making their own seperate in-house streaming services which is more adapt at creating cheaply made streaming shows than movies. Now basically every movie has to make back its budget during the theatre run.
This has completely killed the mid-level budget film productions (aka what every movie ITT basically is), basically movies that were intended to make large parts of their revenue off the aftermarket through word of mouth etc. Every movie now is either high cost blockbuster trash generated from market research or whatever low budget hipster vanity projects they screen at film festivals now.
That's too bad. Glad I never watch movies much any more, ones before I was born are still the best (80s)
TV schlock that I must have watched a dozen times.
The monster was cool and creative until they revealed it was an octopus.
Pretty good flick but the cgi didn't even look good when it came out. Kinda wish some fan would re-do all the cgi effects but nobody would probably waste their time on it.
>full scream ahead
Idk for the 90s the cgi wasnt really that bad. I do remember as a kid the lady who gets pulled through the damn toilet tho and that freaked me out for a while.
for some reason this movie really fricked me up as a kid also along with O deepened my hatred for race mixers
The Mudvayne song was cool too
>signs you're in for 2000s horror kino
S O U L
This was not a kino. It was panned at the time for being shit, nobody liked it. Some things are best left forgotten
I watched House of Wax recently and the practical effects at the end were awesome. The only part in the whole film that didn't hold up was CGI they used on a characters face.
Really grim that we won't get films like this again, at least in the foreseeable future.
I had the same experience rewatching it earlier this year. House of Wax is freaking awesome. The effects at the end represent a pinnacle for the genre and cinema at large. Like Freddy vs. Jason, it's a movie that marks the peak of the American Empire.
>Like Freddy vs. Jason, it's a movie that marks the peak of the American Empire.
Literally no body enjoyed this film on release.
This is nonsense historical revisionism. Freddy vs. Jason was a milestone in cinema, and there hasn't been a single cultural product that has managed to even approach the atmosphere of that magical opening weekend. I'm not saying the culture collapsed overnight, but it was all downhill after Freddy vs. Jason was finally delivered unto its North American audience.
love this new forced reddit meme
Only thing that bothered me was the dumb choice of settings. There's no way that place would've withstood a single southern summer.
It's kinda silly in practice but come on, it's made of naked people.
Not forgotten/overrated
Not forgotten/good
Not forgotten/uber reddit trash
Excellent choice.
this movie is gigabased. Highly recommend to anyone itt
I respect what they did with this adaptation even though the short story is better.
this is also known as 6 Souls. It's decent
White noise and 7eventy5ive used to be my go to horror movies.
Why was Liev Schreiber in every damn movie around this time?
Wait. Theres a movie based on this book? How did I not know this.
Ben Affleck was the bomb in this, yo.
so this is body snatchers but with a sound wave?!
what's that horror movie where that door shuts and slices a guy clean in half, think it's from the early 00s
This one stuck out for me. I liked it and apparently theres a sequel i didnt know about
Great movie, I must have shown it to at least eight different friends over the years. As predictable as it can be at moments it really hits hard with its initial reveals and the building upon those revelations. Only thing that really pulls you out of it is knock-off Steven Tyler's death, everything else was very theme appropriate and continues to be creepy.
The sequel is a mixture of member berries and new concepts, it doubles down on the found footage aspect, worth a watch if you like the first one just don't expect it to feel as original.
thanks, ill try to find a good night to watch the sequel in. closer to halloween maybe
for me, it's Knowing with Nic "Gigachad" Cage.
Anyone remember a shark movie where a guy jumped from a ship only to be eaten by the shark. Also i think they defeated the shark with a submarine missile.
Shark Attack 3 Megalodon
I watched it not long ago with my gf, it's a kino trash horror
I'm pretty sure I'm the only person on Cinemaphile that has seen it. I've brought it up in the /hor/ shows a few times and nobody ever replies
it's a comfy, fun little horror flick.
i watched it . saw it on /hor/
what'd you think?
comfy and bit spooky albeit in a pg-13 kinda way, loved hewlett.
>Kino ending.
The ending was shit. The only bad part.
Pic related is really underated, it should get more credit.
This would have been great if foreign film makers would stop trying to copy American horror formulas. Just make your own thing.
this one's on youtube as well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltVQmkUbMQI
Legitimately carried a torch with me to bed for like a month after I saw this shit.
Why the frick would you bring a torch and risk seeing her? Just close your eyes until she leaves homie
So I can die in the dark? Frick that, I'll live as long as the batteries last.
But you won't die as long as you don't go full moron and look at her. Just go to fricking sleep and let me grab the tooth under your pillow and she'll leave you alone!
>let me grab the tooth
>Just go to fricking sleep and let me grab the tooth under your pillow
Nice try, Matilda.
it's on youtube
This one is good. Anything by Kiyoshi Kurosawa is worth a watch. I watched Seance last year, that one was pretty good as well.
I'd say The Town that Dreaded Sundown counts. Doesn't get brought up nearly as much as other "proto slashers"
Oh lord the trombone kill.
Death by trombone.
found footage ULTRAKINO coming through
w-what the frick where did he go?!?! Is it a wormhole or time portal?!
ghost boomer mowing the lawn and then he just disappears... :O
It's a slow burn movie but I never thought I'd get so scared of a movie character playing a .wav file.
honestly felt scarier than most jump scare movies
Try again,I still have the cinema ticket
Underratedcore? Done.
roadtrip vampire kino. They should have made a Supernatural-style tv show out of it, focusing on hunting vampires across the US to try and find the right master.
Isn't that the obviously homoerotic one where the main hot girl is only in for like 15m and the rest of the movie is two sweaty tanktop clad bros fighting a vampire hunk
me on the right
Yeah, hence why they should make it into a Supernatural-type show.
Superior to the woke feminist remake and the showcase of superior kino waifus
the 1974 original is worth a watch too
