i was very uncomfortable watching this movie. i also hated every single character. was not surprised to see it was written produced and directed by a woman
The more women are allowed to direct the more it seems like film directing is similar to elite sport. Top female teams are beaten by local U15 boy teams. Similarly, the "best" (hyped) female directors' work is worse in quality than the weakest male directed films
of course a woman directed it
aimlessness and unfulfillment is something women filmmakers specialize in
just have a look at sophia coppola's work
not saying it's necessarily bad though
>daughter of a rich man >writes an "eat the rich" story but makes the rich people the victims. >Gay themes but no homo >main characters sick frick like an AO3 fic >Warner Brothers produced.
Only good part is that she insisted we end on a full frontal male dance scene. Men don't film shit like that.
One day, when there is a higher number of female directors doing the same shady shit as male directors are known for, it will happen.
Currently, she found actors who are cool with doing weird kinky shit for the camera and a paycheck. They WANTED to be in a film where they get to lick a bath tub drain for money.
What's annoying is that I've seen porn more scandalous than what she produced.

What about steve mcqueen? He had magneto hang dong
>Velvet Goldmine by Todd Haynes >Trainspotting by Danny Boyle >Brüno by Larry Charles >Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story by Jake Kasdan >Fight Club by David Fincher >Blue Velvet by David Lynch
You need to watch more films... ESPECIALLY with male nude scenes.
obvious chick flick (so much male nudity from front to back) but overall it is okay flick. Saw it few hours ago today. The TWIST was not something I haven't predicted though. All actors were annoying tbh

These guys are so judgemental. It was cute, and a nice ass, but it didn't look like that really was his body. I wouldn't be surprised that one day you get a body double and they just face swap the actor's face onto the body double.

It definitely was his, he’s made sure that people know it’s him due to the attention women are giving him over the size of his penis.
Great movie and a harrowing allegory for immigration and the dangers of altruism and charity to the unfortunate. A perfect example of a privileged Western family with so much abundance and zero ability to protect it when threatened.
When I watched it I thought it was a metaphor for 3rd world immigration. Inviting someone into your home due to shame from prosperity and the person you invited absolutely hates you and wants to destroy everything you have

That was not at all the theme I got, especially since the stranger they let into their home was also an angloid. If it had been a legit 3rd worlder I maybe could have believed it. Even so, I highly doubt some far left feminist director had this in mind. Any allusions to that were accidental.
I'm still confised about Oli's main motive. Did he do all that to inherit the estate or was it just as response to his rejection?
i saw it that since he couldn't be with Felix, he essentially wanted to become him or take everything from that family. idk it doesn't really hold up imo
Yes I think so too. While he enjoyed living the life he did at Saltburn, Felix was his main obsession. With his rejection and realisation that things would never go back to the way they were before between them, he thought atleast he could still have saltburn.

He told you at the end, you fricking moronic zoomers. He hated him and all of them, his goal was always to get all he can out of them, their arrogance and stupidity allowed him to succeed even more he had ever hoped to achieve. Oliver was the kind of man that built that castle and wealth, and at the end you can see him starting the same journey to corruption and weakness at the end scene with the dance number when he indulges himself just like the degenerates he overthrew.
no i get that as it is laid out. it just didnt really make sense as a twist considering the themes and plot. like would he really drink the dude's dirty, semen-filled bathwater and literally frick his grave if he hated him? it's justa huge 180
if that's the case then why did he drink his cum and grind on his grave? either what you're saying doesn't hold up or toh have to add in the fact even if he hated then he did love elrodi and had subconscious feelings at the least
>his goal was always to get all he can out of them, their arrogance and stupidity allowed him to succeed even more he had ever hoped to achieve.
That's where the movie fails at realistic portrayal.
The British upper class is degenerate and often ignorant, but they are not stupid or naive.
The ones at the top are very often sly, cunning, ruthless and amoral and trained at that from their childbirth .
The aristocrat families who failed to do that have simply vanished.
t. worked with British rich c**ts in London for 9 years.
Some kind of combination of homolust and lust for his life and confusing the two because he's crazy.
He licked the bathtub drain and fricked the grave for no audience, so it wasn't all about the scam.
He was a psychopath. He was fascinated with Felix and wanted to be with him. When he realized that would not be possible, the next best thing was to be obtain his life, both with death and becoming him.
I've seen people talking on here before about if some certain actor or male celebrity is good looking or not and my answer is always the same; how would I know.
But something I do know is that dude in the middle of the frame is one ugly motherfricker.
by the middle ot the flick i was expectinh the ywist to be that the Aristocrat family were actually cannibals or in some kind of cult and they were going to sacrifice Oliver to their pagan demigod, specially when one of the characters said to Oliver "a lot of people have been lost at saltburn" and when the loose sister told him "you are hotter than the last one he brought here" or something like that.
But my theory went to the shitter once they go visit Olivers town... at that point i knew exactly where it was going and i was spot on, anyways, prety homoerotic flick, its obvious it was made by a woman for women, Oliver is the only "believable" character to some degree, all the others are absolute fricking idiots, the gat Black folk cousin, the slyutty sister, the nbraindead father, the hot milf, everyone is a fricking idoot, and then for whatever reason Oliver ends up becoming what he always dreamed to become, no explanation as to why would the hot milf would do what she did at the end, specially after all the events happening after Olivers birthday party... theres no motive for why the characters do what they do except for helping the story move forward, you have to turn your brain off to go along with the flow, but me and my wife where just screaming at the TV screen at these idiots...
I think it wouldve been a little more credible if the story was set in the 1920s or some similar period. that wouldve made it a more "classic" tragedy, but by making it in the 2000s it becomes not believable, someone shouldve told the writer and director which happen to be the same woman LOL, that weve had forensic medicine back then.
>but by making it in the 2000s it becomes not believable,
but the director REALLY LOVED the music that she got to share in the film anon?
I get what you're saying but honestly, she possibly doesn't know SHIT about the 1920s and I'd rather people don't make shitty poorly done period pieces if they're just gonna make fetish art.
I liked if I thought it was pretty funny. I didn't like the ending though. I thought it would have been better if it ended a few minutes earlier before he walks through that it was his plan all along.

I would agree with you if American Psycho weren't directed by a woman
of course a woman directed it

I preferred Coppola’s version of The Beguiled by a long shot compared to Siegels. Some stories are better told by women, others by men.

Every film with full frontal male nudity that I have seen, has unironically been directed by a woman.
And yet, female directors are never called out for forcing actors to strip naked for them.
One day, when there is a higher number of female directors doing the same shady shit as male directors are known for, it will happen.

terminator, satan
Too dark, doesn’t count.
What about steve mcqueen? He had magneto hang dong
What movie are you talking about? Hadn't see that?
watchmen
>Velvet Goldmine by Todd Haynes
>Trainspotting by Danny Boyle
>Brüno by Larry Charles
>Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story by Jake Kasdan
>Fight Club by David Fincher
>Blue Velvet by David Lynch

Oh yeah, forgot about Terminator. Usually the TV edit cuts the dick flash out.
Oh man, how could I forget the Watchmen. Snyder's films are all about male obsessions. 100% not gay about it though.
>You need to watch more films... ESPECIALLY with male nude scenes.
No homo?
Clockwork Orange by Stanly Kubrick, not a lot of full frontal and some breasts. You don't have to be bisexual to enjoy that film, but it helps.
Limits of rebellion by an artgay as it's been said here, yet border policy obsessive sees just a noblesse oblige
obvious chick flick (so much male nudity from front to back) but overall it is okay flick. Saw it few hours ago today. The TWIST was not something I haven't predicted though. All actors were annoying tbh
spoil it, i don't care to watch this gay shit
basically you take the talented mr ripley + parasite and mash them together for the tiktok generation
That's the sad thing, there was barely any gay shit. The most chad, most empathetic character died early
>sodiumchloridethermalinjury
the 10 minutes or so of arrested-development-like dialog were enjoyable. i wish there had been more of it.
Why are all these naked college students played by old men?
Not a totally uninteresting movie tbh but very gay and a little bit art homosexual too.
Male actors are normally pretty hesitant to do nudity especially early on in their career.
Weak.
This same movie but with hot twinks would be pretty lit.
Gays don’t like Barry?
He's fine but like you lure me in with thr promise of college students and then show me 31 year old dick. It's a bait and switch.

>RICH PEOPLE BAD
The rich people were better than the "poor" person in this.
They were at worst loveable oafs and MC is a psycho.

The director said it's Vampiric. The stalking of graves and drinking of bodily fluids
>The director said
Who cares?

Meds, now.
i brayed a single giggle OP, have a (You)

was only hoping Duncan would kill that creepy little frick.

ITS MURDER ON THE DANCEFLOOR
This wasn’t the greatest movie ever but holy frick are its critics on here moronic plebs
I don’t know what makes so many anons seethe about it, it’s not a political movie talking about class. It’s about obsession.
