The Fountain and Requiem for a Dream both have Kino scores

I think the score is by the same guy…Clint Mansell if I’m not mistaken.

They are. Clint's work is always killer, but "Death is the Road to Awe" might be his career high.

Um that movie isn’t going to make me want to kill myself is it? Because I kind of have a gambling problem and eating a gun crosses my mind from time to time. Please no spoilers.

The Fountain? I don't think so but I guess it could if you're in a really awful headspace. It has heavy themes.

i would not call the movie depressing

It's not depressing but might make you accept death as something not bad.

As long as your wife hasn't recently died, you'll be fine...but homie I think about heroing on a regular basis and don't have any addictions

              its heavy, but not suicidal.

Great movie once you realize what's going on.

First, realize it's not a 'time travel' or 'immortality' movie

The main story takes place in the modern era. Wife is dying with a tumour in her head, while the doctor husband frantically finds a cure.

The scene of the Spanish Inquisition and travels to South America is told through the IMAGINATION of the dying wife who's writing a story about that time period. Trying to finish the book before she dies.

The scene in the future, with the Tree Ship, is the IMAGINATION of the husband, trying to focus his energies into finding a cure for his wife, losing hope and coping with her impending death.

The transition between scenes show how we jump from one imagination to another, until the end when the wife dies, and the husband was told to 'finish the story', melding his "space quest" to the "Tree of Life" quest.

...and then somewhere in the middle the husband learns to cope with her death, but continues on his work finding a cure to death.

              top iceberg take

I'd show this movie to aliens if I wanted them to get a feeling for the breadth of human mystery. It's pure, utter and unadulterated kino.

Is it good quality or is it sped up or that shit where every once in a while I have to watch an imbedded gambling ad? Essentially, is it JUST the movie? Because otherwise it’s available for rent for just a few bucks on YT.

There’s just something about this chick. And to think Daniel Craig leaves this at home to go drinking at gay bars. If she was my chick we’d just be in bed 24/7 taking sex drugs and chasing better orgasms. Celebrities are so strange.

It was a beautiful movie with an excellent soundtrack. Really well done all around. That it's message is ultimately deceptively simple filtered a lot of people.

Saw it opening weekend in 2006, loved and defended the shit out of it then and probably would still now though I don’t want to revisit and risk ruining what I loved about it.

Yes it’s completely full moron invested in its insane plot. No that’s not for everyone. And that’s fine.

You thought that it was cool when you went to the end of the film and at the the very first frame of the scene where hes in that golden orb thing, you slowed the play speed down to about 90% and it made for a stupidly well aligned film clip for Tools 'Sober'. You can't remember why the frick you did this or why it worked so goddamn well. Funnily enough, this is the only thing you could really remember about this movie.

You fricking motherfrickers. I literally rented this shit on youtube thinking it was going to be some masterpiece and the movie, from start to fricking finish made ABSOLUTELY NO FRICKING SENSE. Like I have no idea what I just saw. WTF? What? What in the frick was I supposed to take away from that film? I literally didn't understand any of it. Is he time traveler? Was she? What...like WHAT??? This fricking movie could've been in some foreign language I don't understand and I would've been just as confused. I mean there's bad movies, but this one just didn't make any fricking sense at all.

What did I miss? What the frick was it about even?

This is why I only watch shit like "It's Always Sunny" and sports. I guess that part of my brain just doesn't work or some shit.
