It's not unthinkable, he's an enforcer for organised crime in LA and Riggs is one of the city's most prominent cops. It's more unlikely that the SA embassy was dealing drugs that long ago and nobody found out even though Riggs got 'close'.

There's no Mel fight that isn't brutal tbh, he's great at making it feel intense

I refuse to watch anything with Mel Gibson. We have suffered too much pain and heartache at the hands of such vicious men as he, and my conscience will not allow me to enjoy any of his third-rate 'kinos'.
