I always thought this show ended in 1999-2000 but actually went on for a few years into the 2000s, ending in 2004. What are those last seasons like? Did the show manage to avoid a steep decline?

Boring and pretentious, just like the early seasons. The whole show just capitalized on Cheers, Cheers being so good that even it’s rotting corpse fed boomers’ need for vapid humour
I wish I liked Cheers more. Ted Danson is just boring to me, I don't know what it is. Everyone else is great for the most part. Sort of a Seinfeld dilemma.
cheers would be great if it didn't suck.
You're all gays
Cheers and Frasier and nu-Frasier are kino
Wings sucked except for the Frasier episode
The new show isn't very good. It's still got some time to get better. Lot of bad acting.
I disagree. I think everyone in it is at the very least competent. David is the weakest but he's still decent and they really haven't given him much to do yet.
This scene was very disturbing. What a complete butthole.
are you gonna be okay?
That scene was awesome. What a chad.
i felt ambivalent about this scene but it did move their relationship plot forward
it was a bit of a bumpy ride. at one point they wrote things into a corner, then next season the new showrunner was like "newp. we're backing out on that" and the remainder of the show was basically smooth sailing.
there's a lot of subtlety. Freddy frequently showing that he DID study some psychiatry and pick up on his parents' teachings, by making little mentions of psych things... or the fact that David came out cripplingly autistic because his parents were in their 40s when he was born
I already had low expectations, and was still disappointed. I didn't so much as crack a smile during the first two episodes. None of the new characters are likeable, and there is zero chemistry between them. Freddie is nothing more than a plot device so they can repeat the same dynamic that Frasier had with his father in reverse. Niles' spastic son is just awful; I cringe every time he is on screen. David Hyde Pierce made the right decision to pass on this trash.
I like the idea of Niles' son. I wish they just made him a theatre kid though instead because that's hes acting anyway.
The son is good. The roomates acting is garbage, her tone is all off.
They could have slowed the antic pace down just a bit. Build jokes that breathe. If Niles' son can't do physical comedy, dont write him picking up the bag and being bad at it. Frasier's friend had a joke that kind of turned into him just rambling, but he turned out to be funny enough out of the airport. I do like that hes got a very english sense of humor.
Hopefully the show isn't just up frasier's butthole the entire time. grammars still got impeccable timing.
I didn't like the first ep of the reboot that much.
Biggest problem is Freddie sucks and the episode was moving at a breakneck pace, they're cramming far too much in.. Like this anon points out
There was another moment where Frasier and David were doing that 'investigate the apartment' thing which I thought was a funny idea but it was over before it even began too.
I think Kelsey still has it as Frasier but it's clear he's the main thing keeping it all afloat and I don't think that'll be enough to make it a good show. In the original Frasier everyone was great, especially David Hyde Pierce.
Frick off
Wings was great
I didn't realize she was so hot until I saw the show in hd.
The shows got great scenes, especially in the first couple seasons. Scenes that weave dialogue with setups for both jokes and characterization. Some scenes are really marvelous.
I don't get the argument that the show is pretentious. It's just actors acting.
cheers was terrible.
Frasier absolutely shit on Cheers.
You are very stupid
It's okay for someone to prefer Frasier over Cheers but thinking Cheers is shit is just wrong.
yeah cheers has so much stinking charisma
it's too charming to be flat out bad
cheers is shit.
it promotes alcoholism and is broad as frick.
they drink all day every day and never get drunk, it bothers me
Too many dumb fricking morons replied to this post. Be better. You know how to spot bait, don't you? Idiots.
>What are those last seasons like? Did the show manage to avoid a steep decline?
I think so. The last seasons are still different though, they shift heavily towards relationship plotlines. I think they were trying to compete with Friends.
it was mid. niles & daphne got together. frasier got a long-term gf. they featured daphnes annoying british family too much. i forget how it ended. but they ended it gracefully before it got actually awful.
>Daphne is from Manchester
>Has a faux-Yorkshire accent
>Brother has a wienerney accent and is played by an Australian actor
It works because they all sound alike.
That's like saying a guy from New York sounds like a guy from Texas
They do sound the same.
Like wankers.
>Oh look it's the new maid from New York
>Tips cowboy hat
>G'day Guvnor
That's how jarring daphne is for British people
not really. british accents change drastically as much as 6 miles apart
>Other brother has a cokney accent but speaks the poshest English in real life
>Other, other brother talks incomprehensible gibberish and is played by a Scotsman
>Other brother has a cokney accent but speaks the poshest English in real life
Anthony LaPaglia is Australian.
I was talking about Richard E Grant.
she sure loved showing off
what episode? i dont remember this?
It's from when she was engaged to Donny. She's supposed to wear his mom's wedding dress, but receives the wrong one by mistake.
I'm pretty sure that was a joke; each of the Moon brothers having an entirely different British accent. Simon had wienerney, Stephen some form of RP; Michael a garbled Lancashire
>Fraiser
wtf I hate Frasier now!
>real life Kesley Grammer is a Republican

Was it intentional?

humiliation ritual.
ugh. it's truly all so tiresome.
>humiliation ritual
Is this a talmudic thing? israelites go some fricking lengths to go around their gods commands, it's truly something else. A fricking wire around the Manhattan, torturing and killing chickens, etc... what the frick
please stay out of /misc/
the israelites have always been our guys. ten commandments, remember? used to have them in front of court houses? that's from moses, my friend. Lefties love the arabs instead. you have to pick, just like coke and pepsi.
god while we're on the subject, I loved that episode where Frasier goes to the shiva of his dead colleague. Or when he's dating the israeli girl and she wants him to take being israeli to her mom, and Martin's clumsily trying to answer things with questions.. also that Manischewitz gag where he dumps a bunch of sugar in the wine..
>the israelites have always been our guys. ten commandments, remember? used to have them in front of court houses? that's from moses, my friend. Lefties love the arabs instead. you have to pick, just like coke and pepsi

>the israelites have always been our guys. ten commandments, remember? used to have them in front of court houses? that's from moses, my friend. Lefties love the arabs instead. you have to pick, just like coke and pepsi.
The saddest thing is that Americans actually believe this.
why would powerful israelites (=zionists) humiliate a republican (the party of zionists)
bcuz he's a republican voter not a republican politician. not that they wouldn't humiliate republican politicians, but with them they at least have motivations to keep them on a leash in case they're useful to them, instead of just destroying them.
lol leftoids are so used to every tv show, movie, actor, musician, etc parroting their politics that when even a single one doesn't it's an all-hands-on-deck emergency
>inb4 wojack edit response
I saw him on conan in something like 03-04 and while I always liked to watch frasier, kelsey was just straight up weird. as if he had aspergers. it was one of the biggest letdowns since I was kind of interested to see what he was like outside of the character. but he had no character
And? Martin Craine had a definite Republican preference but his actor, John Mahoney, was a Democrat supporter and fundraiser.
>Martin Craine had a definite Republican preference
Martin Crane was auth-left, as an ex-cop he explicitly said that citizens shouldn't have guns, in reference to his own son wanting one for safety
didn’t marty support the republican in the episode where frasier endorsed the guy running for congress
It was implied. Frasier wanted the 'fund the arts' candidate, Martin wanted the 'tough on crime' candidate. The gap between Rs and Ds wasn't so extreme back then as it was now though.
Always comes off as weird that one. I just don't see how Marty would be against the 2nd amendment, maybe he just lied because he didn't trust Niles with his gun?
She's a real footbawd. Check out her wikifeet page (Jane Leeves)
Liar. There’s like three blurry ass pictures.
Believe me, I’ve checked…
The later seasons were shit and surprisingly low-brow at times. They should've ended it when Niles got with Daphne or just before.
Peri Gilpin is the superior choice.
Yes. Roz
Frasier bros... how bad is the reboot...
its not great but it is enjoyable. Grammer carries it though
Not as good as the original, but I think no one expected it to be. Yet it's nowhere as bad as, say, That 90s Show.
So far at least it's watchable. It's biggest issue is that it has no Martin and it has no Niles. Those two were extraordinary.
>Not as good as the original, but I think no one expected it to be. Yet it's nowhere as bad as, say, That 90s Show.
>So far at least it's watchable. It's biggest issue is that it has no Martin and it has no Niles. Those two were extraordinary
this, very concise and accurate take.
90s Show was better than this pale facsimile of a titan
Seasons 8 to 10 get progressively worse. Season 11 is decent, it has some shitty episodes but also some wacky ones like High Holidays or Freudian Sleep.
TOSSED SALAD

>Was the goth israeli pussy that good?
anon, this make me said. poor Frasier. he should have stayed strong. the worst part is women wanting the son to have the circumcision when its not even something they have. truly depressing.
I agree. Funniest part of that episode is that Lilith ends up watching the israelite barbarians do the act and ends up more of a mental wreck after it's done at the end
>Funniest part of that episode is that Lilith ends up watching the israelite barbarians do the act and ends up more of a mental wreck after it's done at the end
this is the most angering part.
its not even happening to her and she chose to have it done.
>i feel bad i let them hurt my baby
you should you dumb c**t.
I like to think Frasier made her have a female circumcision later, performed by a sub-saharan witch doctor in a dirty shed.
Lots of women want it for their sons because they like the party around it, they love to brsg "oh yes my son will have his foreskin cut off just like my father and brother, more wine?"
Giving women rights was a mistake, they dont care about others feelings.
still don’t know how it’s legal to do this lol
She raped Riker. Think about that...he fricked a troon.
Hell yes.
>Goth
I always got "Butch Lesbian" vibes from her to be honest.

No it's not. Not while we still have tossed salad and scrambled eggs

Is this a clip from nu-frasier? If so then I will watch it
>Noted conservative Kelsey Grammer successfully lobbies to have the show be about Frasier returning to seattle, buying ghost guns/full auto rifles and then purging the city of minorities, to improve sanity of culture itself
I live in Seattle and I would watch the frick out of that
Does the reboot have any sex appeal? I remember some of Daphne's outfits showing midriff and getting me going
this shot is so great.
the framing the way niles-kun wiggles and how the camera shifts to show us niles kicking daphne and how good daphne's aserhole(british pronunciation of butthole) looks
>aserhole(british pronunciation of butthole)
oh god I can see the lines of her thongs.. oh god it's not fair... oh god..
9 and 10 have a dip in quality comparative to the rest of the series (thought still lightyears better than most other sitcoms) and then 11 is a return to form with some really great episodes. They finish the show really strongly and in a perfect way. There really shouldn't have been a reboot.
Daphne's English family suck balls.I wanted to mount Daphne when I was a child.
Did they jump the shard when her mom stayed in the house?
>Did they jump the shard when her mom stayed in the house?
i think that's a good point to say they did.
the mom and daphne's family sucks.
cept Hagrid. He's pretty funny with the unintelligible speech.
Yes. WAY too much time is spent with them.
Favourite Frasier episode?
I think S01E24 should rank higher.
>I think S01E24 should rank higher.
nice six my Black person.
I agree. that is probably my favorite episode.
it is defentily one of the more comfy episodes.

I love The Candidate. The second time Frasier reads through his script is maybe some of the hardest I've ever laughed at a TV show
Wouldn't it make more sense to make "OK" yellow, and the essential categories blue?
The Dinner Party for me. No random chaos or wacky situations, just insecurities and infighting. Good stuff.
Dark Victory is the best episode, this is not an opinion
why
Anything with Bulldog. Even though he is gay irl.
>Maris murders someone plotline
>Anything less than the dumbest shit ever put on television
have a nice day homie !! !!
It's amazing how bad critics are today.
>Mindless NPC shill fans are better
The new Frasier is good.
Sure it is shill
>Sure it is shill
not him.
it isn't supremley fantastic but its much better than i thought. thee dean Black actor they have is actually just a noraml frasier charater and doesn't do the gay "whypip dum homiez is smort n shiet" and the other girl Eve is just silly and not really threatening either. I think she is like proto daphne 2.0 or something.
the british guy is also much better than i thought.
Freddie's actor is a little too chadish for my tastes but i get why the did it.
David is literally discount niles. He's hard to watch as it is just an impression of david hyde pierce's niles.
>not him

im just saying my opinions.
You can say yours too if you like.
his opinion is he just wants to call anyone shill
>his opinion is he just wants to call anyone shill
ahh okay. ill leave it at that then.
My problem with Olivia is that it feels that she's even scared to say her lines and in a hurry to deliver her dialogue.
Take Roz' first monologue in the original pilot. It doesn't matter if it's great writing, it doesn't matter if the deliver is fantastic, it introduces you to the character and she takes the time to tell the whole Lupe Vélez story.
Olivia instead cannot speak for more than 3 consecutive seconds and they try to cram so much of her in so little time. We didn't know that Roz had an issue with her sister until way on the series, and they took a whole episode to explore it; probably because they didn't plan to have that in the beginning and it just happened when they were throwing ideas for new episodes, but the point is that they took their time to set it up and show it to us.
Here they HAD to have her say that bit about her being provost earlier than her sister right off the bat. It's as if they suffered premature ejaculation with their jokes, they have to include a lot of info right now in the first episode otherwise we'll lose interest or something, apparently.
Frasier wasn't a show about one quick jab after another or cramming in random jokes together, they used to let the plot breathe, take pauses, build everything up and then bring closure at the end. But they didn't need to have 20 different plots for each minor character going on at the same time. Other shows may do that, and succeed even, but it's not how Frasier worked. I hope that in future episodes they don't try to cram every character in a single episode, but that they devote different episodes to different characters as they used to do, it's one of the things that made the show special.
Everyone but Frasier and Alan is in a hurry to deliver their lines. Just look at how quick Frasier's plan to manipulate Freddy and Eve into telling the truth went. I thought it was going to be some sort of tennis match where those two tried to outsmart Frasier but it barely lasted a minute.
Yeah maybe something got cut but it was setup to become the main series of jokes of the episode but fizzled out straight away
Maybe it was too overdone
>they don't know that we know they know we know
nice threes Black person.
anywho i wouldn't trust that website in most capacities anon. just watch what you think looks good and form your own opinion.
or not. its up to you really
I know we usually think the opposite of critics but come on... grandpa Frasier taking care of his millennial kids with a token black female intellectual... can it really be good?
>we
stop right there, reddit.
At best it's pretty fun, at worst it's bland but innocuous.
I've been having some on in the background on Pluto TV and they've only ran the newer seasons and I still really enjoy it
so verdict on the new frasier bros?
I think its good
Post webms of fat Daphne.

>I'm just a little hot....and foamy.
DHP's delivery is just impeccable throughout the series.
I was quite young when Frasier was first airing and didn't know how good we had it.
Niles ironing his pants is the funniest five minutes in television.
It's been awhile (I'm only on S4 of my rewatch) but I always thought the show was remarkably consistent for how long it ran and how good it could get. Most would probably say seasons 3-7 are the best, but other than some of the stuff they do with Daphne the show never gets bad.
Cheers Frasier > Frasier Frasier
^he’s correct, you fathom
cheers frasier is an eunuch version of him. If I started cheers first, I would have never watch Frasier.
>If I started cheers first, I would have never watch Frasier.
Sounds like a you problem, not a show problem
If you do that certain episodes and scenes lose their magic, like the dream scene at the end of Adventures in Paradise 2.
nah, you missed all the character growth
Shill
Why wasn't the reboot animated
coz anime mindbroke american cartoonists
Why did they ditch Maris so early in the show?
The “off-camera wife” thing is an homage to Norm’s wife on Cheers. Morons will dispute this
>Hyde Pierce allowed himself to imagine who could Maris: “I had done a show with Valerie Mahaffey [the short-lived NBC comedy The Powers That Be], and she is a wonderful, beautiful, terrific actress who in many ways, physically, might have been right,” he says. Co-star Jane Leeves, meanwhile, always pictured the British actress Eleanor Bron (Women in Love) in her mind. “There was something so wrong about her,” she says. “But hilarious.”
kinda prefer to imagine Charlotte Rampling or Cate Blanchett. One's a bit too old and the other is too young however.
The left is how I imagine Maris to look.
Prudent, uptight, and look like she belong to the wealthy class. The one looks haggard and a gypsy.
Maybe so
Just watched episode 1
I liked it

Are you okay?
You'll start seeing more threads like this one now that just-so-happen to mention the reboot.
Absolutely true. Daphne was a bad match for Niles, unironically Roz would've been great if they got together but still playfully tore each other down constantly.
>Mel
She shut Eddie on the balcony. Frick Mel.
Niles getting married to Daphne kinda ruined it. They should just have had Niles marry Mel or even Roz.
They couldn't do episodes like this anymore, like Looney Tunes or Hanna-Barbera.
...Maybe this pic would help.
That ludicrous fricking poppinjay!!!
Freddy and Eve trying to sneak the baby past Frasier had a similar Looney Tunes vibe in my opinion.
We still have daily Frasier threads.
hey that's my post about the perfect host, WHICH NONE OF YOU REPLIED TO.
I must not have noticed the thread. Its my headcanon too that DHP's character in The Perfect Host is Niles
wtf is this shit
an extra long Frasier dinner party episode.
>Did the show manage to avoid a steep decline?
It didn't. The show gets more outrageous: a lot of episodes were the characters go in and out of doors while not being aware that other characters are doing the same because of some ridiculous flanderized character reason.
?si=mNMT2GD3A80sjoOu&t=1274
Why is Frasier still so funny bros
I noticed later seasons there were a lot fewer cringe-worthy moments that were bad enough that I had to pause the episode and pace around the house for ten minutes.
Anyone got the anon describing how Frasier broke his cousins autistic mind?
I was just thinking about this shit the other day and you reminded me to look into the archive for it lol
I honestly don't get why he thinks he "broke" his cousin. If the cousin can now live a somewhat normal life by LARPing as Frasier, he actually fixed his life and got as close as possible to curing his autism
in mental health circles we don't like to use the word 'cured' anon but you're quite right it did help him
The same way cleaning someone's room unprompted "ruins" their mess.
Thanks anon, great heartwarming story that always makes me smile. We need more Frasiers in the world
Anyone watch the new ep?
How good is the reboot for anons who have watched it? What Season of Frasier would you compare it to?
Probably 8 or 11 depending on how the next episodes are, but far from 9 and 10.
Is it just me or doesn't Kelsey Grammer just put a smile on your face? Everything about shouts wholesome. I bet the guy smells like freshly baked cookies and freshly cleaned bed sheets.
Imagine not having the 4:3 HD copies
Did she get hotter for anyone else, as you got older? Didn't really see it as a kid and a teenager watching the show, but now that I am almost 30 she is a solid 9/10 all of a sudden.

I thought Roz was the hottest when I was a kid. I still think Roz is the hottest.

It would have been easier if I had realized that 273 is 270 + 3. I tried to do it via "3/3 + 70/3 + 200/3" then checked it via "300/3 - (300 - 273)/3" when the whole problem is basically 27/3

She's intensely sexy on a level far beyond what most women can achieve. Any pair of breasts can put on a skirt and heels, but a frictiony, difficult woman with a tiny melty body who becomes kittenish at the thought of your dick is weapons-grade boner fuel.
eh, most beautiful women can get you to SEE this in them. mary loius parker is a better version imo. from the west wing specifically.
What I don't understand is why the writers didn't continue things with Frasier and Caitlin a while longer. She was a real catch.

Niles separates from and ultimately divorces Maris after catching her with the fencing instructor. He begins a relationship with a woman named (I don't even remember) and marries her. Daphne gets engaged to a little mincing israelite lawyer named Donnie (the "collector" who kidnaps Data in the Toys episode of Star Trek TNG). Frasier, while drunk on pain meds and getting a massage from Daphne, reveals to her that Niles is in love with her and always has been. Daphne begins exploring her feelings for Niles. Niles, feeling pushed into a corner, finally declares his love to Daphne on the eve of her wedding, realizing he'll never have the chance again. Daphne confesses she has developed feelings for him as well but there's nothing they can do because she's getting married, and they both need to just forget about it. Niles sits despondent in Martin's RV as the wedding is about to begin, but is joined by Frasier and Martin who tell him how proud they are of him for finally letting out his feelings he's bottled up for so long. They leave to join the wedding and Niles remains alone in the RV, but then suddenly Daphne appears, in her bridal gown, and asks to run away with him. Season finale cliffhanger. Next season picks up immediately after as they drive away from the wedding in the RV, but both their phones go crazy with everyone calling them, and they realize they can't foolishly just leave all their friends and loved ones hanging, so they return and awkwardly explain things offscreen before a fadeaway return to Frasier's apartment.
Donnie is crushed, and Niles' new image-conscious socialite wife wants revenge, but she needs to keep up appearances to save face so she tells him she is going to divorce him quietly after a year or two where he's going to pretend to be her loving husband until she "tires" of him, otherwise she'll financially destroy him. Niles is forced to tell Daphne they can't really start their relationship yet because he has to play pretend-husband, which naturally upsets her. Frasier tries to console the depressed, paranoid, now-shutin Donnie, but says the wrong thing, and Donnie decides to reinvigorate himself by suing the pants off Niles and Daphne. So basically that's the setup for the whole next season of forced drama. Eventually things get resolved, Niles and Daphne marry, she gets pregnant, happily ever after somewhat boring "married life" sitcom shenanigans for them for the remainder of the series.
Meanwhile, Frasier continues his usual romantic misadventures. The final woman to capture his love in the series is a matchmaker who lives in the same building who, after some banter, manages to convince Frasier to pay for her ridiculously expensive services. She sets Frasier up with a long series of horrible dates however, and Frasier begins to suspect she's doing so because she has feelings for him, and he develops feelings for her. But the true reason is she's scamming him. However, after the reveal, she DOES develop feelings for him, and Frasier can't quit her because he's got a serious case of "I can fix her".
Oh, and Martin remarries an attractive mommy.
>Did the show manage to avoid a steep decline?
Not really. Not the worst by far, many shows imploded far worse, but not very remarkable either. Last episode was pretty good though.
(You)
Oh, and as a final "Huh? Whuh?", Maris ends up murdering the man she ran away with (she claims it was an accident during "crossbow practice"). Niles' attention is further stolen from Daphne as he's forced to try and help Maris through her legal problems. Ultimately the matter is resolved when, with all of Maris/Niles' possessions being repossessed, she manages to sneak away inside a crate and escapes to Mexico or Brazil or someplace where she lives out the rest of her life free as a bird, but out of Niles' hair for good.
is the woman martin remaries from that show Just Shoot Me?

Yeah from the reviews I though I was going to hate David but he's at least got some funny scenes amongst the autistic cringe. Freddy I wouldn't care if he got written out.
Frasier went a bit downhill after daphne left the show and niles trooned out tbh

Did we win?
I don't like reboot. Only Grammer and the English guy are good in it. Apart from them, it feels like a cheap B-grade sitcom. The side characters cannot act, have no charisma or positive presence, and generally bring the show down.
Most of all, apart from it not being all that funny at all, I kept thinking "why?" as I watched it.
Fraiser needed more Lilith
Bebe was the only actress that could stand with Kelsey in terms of talent
amazing
They tried to take things seriously and it didn't work at all
Not to mention DHP and Leeves have weak "chemistry" as a screen couple.
I always thought it was a real shame Niles didn't end up with Mel. Not only did Jane Adams have a more natural chemistry with DHP, she was far more easier on the eyes than Jane Leeves.
It would've been a good idea to have Mel as a more "normal" replacement of Maris for Niles IMO. Women like Maris/Mel are clearly his naturally suited type. His lust for Daphne seemed more of a manic dream pixie girl thing rather than a sincere relationship-type love. I believe Frasier said this at least once too.
I firmly disagree with with the last part of your post. For me, Leeves was distractingly and relentlessly beautiful, especially in the early seasons.
