frasier

i can't believe it... this is actually funny. as someone who hates sitcoms, this is actually getting a laugh out of me like 5 times per episode. i was genuinely ready to hate it when i picked it up. the laugh track or live studio audience or whatever it is is a bit cringe but other than that i'm absolutely enjoying this

probably the way niles and roz are posing
but you should try googling for a fraiser pic to post. they're all cursed, believe me

Niles would never wear something as lacking in chic and class as that.

      It is:
      >All the washed out denim. The sheer amount gives it a cursed feel but, it looks particularly odd on Frasier and (even more so) Niles.
      >Niles and Roz posing as if they are a romantic couple.

Frasier is the only sitcom I've seen where I like every main character. That alone makes it pretty outstanding tbh

Even Seinfeld, Cheers and Becker? because they're the top 3. Why would Frasier stand out to you while the others don't? Please enlighten me because I'm fricking confused right now.

I meant to imply Frasier was in the top 3 btw, you can take Cheers down a peg. Why like one but not the others?

I used to love Seinfeld but after watching Frasier I find it hard to rewatch. I just prefer the type of dry wit in Frasier, as well as the snobbish and high-living aesthetic of it.

Frasier is the best sitcom though.

        I didn't deny that, see:

I can see that, but why would it be the -only- one someone likes when they're all fricking funny and well done?

Niles is possibly the best sitcom character to ever exist. I dunno how I feel about the Frasier reboot without him.

          Agreed
          >I dunno how I feel about the Frasier reboot without him
It will be a complete failure. I legitimately would not have kept watching Frasier if Niles wasn't in it.

      never watched
      >cheers
saw it only as a child, my father loved it. after frasier i'll give it a chane
      >seinfeld
just don't like the fact that everyone always acts like a fricking nasty subhuman. same reason i hated always sunny in philadelphia.

some comedy not-sitcom shows i've enjoyed were scrubs and community. at least i think those aren't sitcoms

      >Becker
Totally mediocre pablum, the only really good American sitcoms are Seinfeld, Cheers, Mash and Frasier, everything else is varying degrees of shit

        Anonymous

        >Mash
Been meaning to watch this one, cause I think the setting is really cool and unique for a sitcom, but I avoided it because I assumed it'd just be really dated.

First few seasons are of a totally different time but the later ones get better. If you don't like it at first just skip to when they introduce Col Potter, if you don't like it then you won't like it

Becker was very character driven, you're a gay if you dislike it. Danson is also 74 years old apparently, jesus fricking christ.

Watching Frasier has unironically made me take on some of the "snobby" habits of the main characters, like always wearing formal clothes and drinking red wine (going both at the moment lol).

Not even kidding, I'm literally sitting here in my room, wearing black pants and a nice white shirt, sipping a pricey French red I bought today, and listening to Latin R&B.
I don't care if my family think I'm pretentious as frick, I enjoy it.

So I've almost finished season 3, and I know that Niles and Daphnie get together at some point, but I'm wondering if the characters still have their same charm and appeal when they're together? Like at the moment it's hard to imagine Niles especially being the same loveable simp if he gets the girl he dreams about. Does marrying a working class woman take away the ultra-snobbishness that's the whole appeal of his character?

      Anonymous

he is still snobby, but its toned down. daphnes mum takes a larger role later on and she isnt that funny. i actually think martin gets funnier. but the donny episodes are a fricking boring drag.

It should have ended with their wedding but it still has its moments after. It introduces many awful female characters though

Same, normally I mostly just softly chuckle at the jokes in Frasier, but that episode is genuinely laugh out loud hilarious, which is so rare for me.

It's genuinely one of the best written shows but souless empty zoomers lump into "irony territory" Shrek style without any knowledge of the fricking thing disgusting. One of the few things Foster Wallace was right about considering the future of irony

Frasier is too slapstick to be good. The Golden Girls was a better highbrow sitcom.

op esl here, i thought slapstick was physical comedy, like making funny motions or funny facial expressions like jim carrey
i don't recall seeing much of that in fraiser, but i'm only at season 2

slapstick is physical, that post you responded to was peak moron and he had no idea what he was talking about. Don't worry ESL bro, Frasier is going to get better for you if you're only on S2. bless.
