I will be the one to mention Wakfu. I will finish it soon enough.

      >S4 soon
      You will never finish Wakfu.
Have you even started with Dofus yet?

I still say Long Way North/Tout en Haut du Monde is my favorite french cartoon. Mind you, there's a bunch I haven't seen, but I still liked Long Way North. I need to get around to watching Lastman at some point.

I liked it a lot but I kind of wished Sacha resolved stuff with her family at the end, and her finding her grandpas notebook was a little too convenient, but other than that great movie,

I also liked how mature this movie was without trying too hard, it just presented everything in a grounded matter, while still having comedic scenes

Lastman (I only watched season 1), it was amazing. The episodes are only 11-13 minutes long, but the way it was written didn't make that an issue.
The limited animation as well, actually worked in its favor and gave it such a cool vibe. Easily a contender for a top 10 animated show soundtracks.

The limitations of animation and time constraints due to budget, they're obstacles but Lastman really showed the power of competent directors.
Arcane had French directors as well I think. They're really raising the bar for adult animation.
I'm looking forward to watching Mars Express whenever it gets a digital release.

S2 is very cool; its a intentional flip on the storytelling of season 1. I think S1 is better, but s2 is EXCELLENT.

I thought the same until I rewatched season 2 recently and now they're both the same 10/10 in my eyes, once you now what happens in the season you get a lot more out of little details and the overall story. I'm so fricking happy we're getting season 3

Pretty much all there indie animated movies. Anything by Sylvain Chomet, Sébastien Laudenbach,Benjamin Renner, René Laloux is great, as well as specific movies like little nicholas happy as can be, Calamity, a Childhood of Martha Jane Cannary,April and the Extraordinary World, Persepolis, A Cat In Paris Ext

France is honestly makes some the best animated movies in the world and the fact no one cares or notices annoys me

French are good inventors, but don't know what to do with their invention, so they adandon it. Until someone else from another country use their invention to the fulest and become hype.
French are really bad at promoting their production. Especially because most of it are financed by the governments. Australia is doing the same thing, but because they are english-speakers, it's easier to promote their project.

Fwiw, people give Chomet *some* credit and two of his films had been nominated for best animated picture. But still less than he deserves yes

So perhaps it'll even get a dub

          >dub
Absolutely disgusting. Give me subs or give me death. And who the frick thought Lament from Auvergne was a good title. I'll concede The Black College is a bit of a nothingburger titlewise, but they could've used Academy or Faculty instead. Or come up with something that doesn't sound as lame as the Lament title.

That's from Ulysse Malassagne, isn't it? The style is similar.

Have any of his other books been translated to english, other than Kairos?

I've been reading Valerian and Laureline this year. Amazing art. The stories are basic sci-fi stuff, but elevated by how imaginative the imagery is.

Petit Vampir is a show I used to watch with my little sister and it was comfy as hell.
It is also one of the only medias were the husband is a lot cooler than the mother in every way, despite the mother herself being a hot ass vampire MILF.

so is French humor usually like this?

        Anonymous

no, french humour is usually about a couple of obnoxious morons stuttering around being completely useless while the rest of the movie cast watches. It's fricking horrible.

Les Kassos is more about a couple of degenerate perverts making extremely over the top parodies of well known properties. They have low budget animation but they make everything completely twisted out. The 3 nephews from Ducktales have to move into the parisian ghetto and become bullied to the point of getting traumatized and then turn into thugs. Inspector Gadget is a hard boiled cop who catches the filthy thief Aladdin and knuckledusters his face. Sweet little orphan Candy is a schizophrenic sex addict. But on the other hand Joker is a legitimate if small time magician entertainer and the Predators are friendly weekend hunters. The kids from Pokemon are so big losers that the social worker calls in Candy to turn them into men, and Wily E Coyote finally catches the Roadrunner but this gives him such an euphoria that he has a mental breakdown and kills himself. Asterix & Obelix are alcoholics and the Teletubbies are high on acid 24/7. Jack Sparrow turns out to know the cousin of the main character and they go and have a drink together. Goku and Vegita argue about their super saiyan hair stylists.

It's all hilarious in how crazy it is, and they are all 1 minute segments so it doesn't overstay its welcome either. Unfortunately, they stopped releasing english subs to it some time around the 3rd season, I think because they started releasing them in english, but that one isn't up to date either.

Also don't the Beauty and the Beast where the beast is an actual water buffalo in a tux, but Belle wants to marry her anyway... then he mounts her (yes, they show it) and she gets pregnant and gives birth to an actual beast. The buffalo meanwhile quietly shits in the corner.

No, I am not making this shit up.

          >no, french humour is usually about a couple of obnoxious morons stuttering around being completely useless while the rest of the movie cast watches.
Like Monsieur Hulot? That's far better.
Les Kassos just keeps reskinning the same porny jokes again and again.

            >Like Monsieur Hulot? That's far better.
No, that one has good writing and acting. Modern french humour does not.

            >Les Kassos just keeps reskinning the same porny jokes again and again.

It's not all porny jokes, it's just twisting out each character.

They tried making an english dub, there's a trailer, and MAYBE it was released in Canada but it's not confirmed.

Back when Cinemaphile did not suck, we made a fansub for it however.

There was a 2nd movie in the making, not sure if it's done yet or not.

Turns out I suck wieners and the actual english title is Round Da Way. As far as I can tell there's only a french and german dub.

That's the supposed english title for the supposed english release, except I can't see any confirmation whatsoever that the english version was actually released anywhere ever. The only thing is an english trailer on youtube.
