I love French comics, but that looks like dull shit.
Apparently, war used to be the key to good comics.
The Golden Age of American comics was during WWII. Argentina came out with The Eternaut while military uprisings were turning the country inside out.
Cold War tensions gave us Watchmen and The Dark Knight Returns, which are arguably the two foremost comics in the superhero genre.

It's a fantasy series inspired by Tolkien's universe. There are other series about dwarves, orcs and wizards set in the same universe. Unfortunately, I think only the digital versions are available in English
Storytime it. Or post a Mega.
Another anon, this is from the same universe as Dwarf, that is overall really good. I was surprised to learn it, as in one tome of Dwarf a bunch of random elves show up and help the protag, imply they are having big adventures on their side and leave.
Might storytime it after Christmas. First tome is real good.
well maybe they should be reprinted in english so people in the u.s. buy them. why the frick hasn't that already happened for more Oliver Ledroit shit? Wika was an eyeful, but how the frick am i supposed to enjoy vampire Chevalier and why can't have i have my own copy of Sha? comics industry is fricking lazy and losing out as long as we don't even have access to eurocomics

It's coming out late January in French, I'd expect it a little under a year later in English, that is if the move between publishers hasn't caused any issues for the English publication.
This one ended recently and had a surprisingly sad ending for the characters in pic related that gave me feels.
An actual ending? I never really read the series beyond the first few, but weren't they all non-connected on-shots? Or did that change later on?
>last 1-2 volumes of Requiem never
Fricking lazy frogs.
Why wouldn't you just end your series after 10+ books if it's just around the corner.
Anon, did you not hear the news? Ledroit just announced on his facebook that the next volume is being released 24 April 2024.
Seuls? Is it the same publisher in Dutch as before the move from Dupuis? I wouldn't expect there to be any issues but you never know. The UK publisher Cinebook doesn't have it on their publication schedule up to June, and they took 9 months to release the last volume after the French release.
>Anon, did you not hear the news? Ledroit just announced on his facebook that the next volume is being released 24 April 2024.
Well frick me sideways. I didn't know and I am very pleased to hear that.
Elves and Dwarves are finished as a series now right, with the story continuing in the 'Wars' bds? Anyone know if those are good, and if the setting is coming to a close?
My experience with French comics comes from the one about kingdom of man-eating giants - "Petite" it was called, I think. I read both parts and was simultaneously drawn in by incredible style, worldbuilding and story, and turned off by all the sexual content. I'm a person who cannot tolerate depictions of physical intimacy that involve cheating/rape/prostitution, or are unwholesome in whatever other way. French seem to be obsessed with this shit. It's still very much a great comic which I highly recommend.
Is it really a good comicbook, or do you guys like it because of shameless elf tiddies?
Also, Black Moon Chronicles. Another underappreciated comicbook series.
Dwarves issue 1 is great, as are many of the rest in the series, a few dip below but I'd say the quality is better than elves overall
Orcs & Goblins also has a couple of standouts for me, notably issue 4
Elves I am torn on, some good, some decent, some eh, it is the series that taps the most into the first big narrative for the shared setting
Who won WW2 and who was conquered during WW2? I rest my case.
Losing wars apparently makes your comics better (see Japan, France). Did US comics improve after Vietnam?

I'm looking forward to it.
soviet union won ww2

jews won acquiring USA as it's trophy.
You need to go back
Israel won and conquered both um
kys you stupid hillbilly
I don't know, German, did France spend 60 years half under the control of communists?
This looks too smart and sophisticated for my dumb brain, so no thank you.
I wish Cinemaphile had an active BD community again
Did the last Murawiec reach the dark countries of muttlandia or angloland? What did you think about it?
(You) can make it happen anon
Yeah, D&Q released it.
Looks interesting.
>again
Never had one ,never will.Best keep moving.
Cinemaphile is capechad country and we don't tolerate weebs or wannabe weebs like you.
(You)
What am I supposed to get out of this cover? What does the actual comic look like?
%3D
Start at 2:08
>Jujuba ATÔMICA
Thank you, this looks pretty neat actually.
Post pictures homosexual

Yeah, that doesn't sound good.
Even in France and Belgium their comics are getting outsold by manga
True enough, with the exception of established names like Asterix.
Apparently we're getting this in a few months.

I don't know about English but it'll be released in Dutch in March.

Okay, now how about reprinting the old volumes so people can actually own them?
>Anon, did you not hear the news? Ledroit just announced on his facebook that the next volume is being released 24 April 2024.
Well frick me sideways. I didn't know and I am very pleased to hear that.
I was just checking to see if there were any new books. Thanks for the heads up, anon.
I don't know that comic but isn't the cover in portuguese?
Looks dope. I'm reading Thorgal right now. The French also did some based Conan adaptations a few years back
Thorgal is fantastic until they start doing spin offs and such. I think it falls off after 28 or something.
Dogshit > American comics
Elves and Dwarves are finished as a series now right, with the story continuing in the 'Wars' bds? Anyone know if those are good, and if the setting is coming to a close?
This looks terrible
This one ended recently and had a surprisingly sad ending for the characters in pic related that gave me feels.
>Ange
(Anne Guéro)
also did Belladonna (French Belladone): assasins and intrigue during Louis IV's reign
A good point to note that french comics tend to be horny as frick.
Which is awesome
In other news: water is wet

The French love depicting nudity and sex but its almost always consensual. No idea about Petite though.
>both parts
There are two more my dude, might have been more if one of the creators didn’t die
Petite is the first in a series called "The Ogre Gods". Like the other anon said, the series ends on a cliffhanger because the creator died.
That sucks
The series is still very much worth reading, you just have to go in knowing there will never be a proper ending.
>euro comic thread once again used as bait
It's sad that this is the only way Cinemaphile will talk about these comics.
Is it really a good comicbook, or do you guys like it because of shameless elf tiddies?

I have not read it

This is shitty ugly looking comic about homosexuals no one care about. Plus its boring as frick. just blalalala elves. blalalala zombies etc
I agree that it's not very appealing, but it's funny how obvious it is that you're a capeshitter.
Can i just pick this up or is there some sort of reading order?
>book has dark elves
Dark elves are always kino.
Its in english too rigth?
No? They always like to shove in cuckoldry.
what is it with comic writerz worldwide that they alwayd shove thay shit in?
french pop media in general is higher quality. I can't tell if it's a result of their insularity or if french publishers are moronic.
Needs to be storytimed more often
no one cares with your stale bait
Got anything that has no romance? Or at least no straight romance.
romance is quite rare in BDs
>Who won WW2
A German israelite
Waht is a BD?
