Frick you, I liked "girlboss" Peach.
It was a nice twist on the character, you'd expect the lone Princess of a kingdom of doormat Toads to be powerful and maybe snarky in order to avoid being taken over by enemy forces.
She wasn’t even a girlboss. She sat back and let Mario save the day for her in the donkey Kong fight and at the end of the movie. Just because she wasn’t utterly helpless at all times doesn’t mean she was a girlboss

How? She asked Donkey Kong’s dad for his army and he said no and Mario got pissed off and shit talked him into giving him a chance to win it. Then he won it by defeating Donkey Kong. Peach just sat in a chair and watched
She was also nurturing and supportive to mario.

I was fine with it. My problem was they nerfed her lips. Peach is supposed to have luscious DSLs goddammit.

They played it safe and made the “right” movie. It was for sure a kids movie and didn’t try to be anything more than that. I didn’t get a whole lot out of it but I think they made a lot of the right decisions and made the Mario movie that most people wanted and expected.
