A lot of the Mega Man comics are surprisingly good.
I'm mostly disappointed that they didn't even get to TB the last issues, which means they only way to have not-Honey Woman's appearance was to have the floppies back when the license was cut.
I never played the games but found the comic fun. The characters and their adventures were entertaining.
I liked the times when they talked about whether a robot with a consciousness should be considered a human, or the fears of advancing tech causing some unforeseen negative consequences for the mankind. Themes like that interest me in scifi stories.
>WORDS WORDS WORDS WORDS WORDS WORDS WORDS WORDS WORDS
I don’t even hate Ian but holy shit this is the worst of his bad habits. It’s a visual medium for kids, dude. Stop having every character give a long winded speech about their moral compass.
Comparing it to Ariga is fricking cheating, Ariga is like like the perfect choice to hand a sorta throwback/retro-feeling anime/manga property and go frick wild with it
I actually could, because the Ruby-Spears cartoon might have been flawed in execution but it was still an overall faithful adaptation of the series, outside of Protoman being evil and that at least has some roots from the origin games.
Archie Sonic just held onto SatAM, an intentionally unfaithful adaptation, for way too long, and it ended up fricking things over so hard.
Thing is that Sonic only had a handful of games when the comic and cartoons started. Then they had to extend the shelf life during the Saturn Dry Spell.
I think it's because SEGA mascots before and after Sonic have short lifespans. When's the last time we heard from Opa-Opa, Alex Kidd, Toejam & Earl, Ristar, Bug, Sir Tongara de Pepperouchau III, Astal, etc?
>I actually could, because the Ruby-Spears cartoon might have been flawed in execution but it was still an overall faithful adaptation of the series, outside of Protoman being evil and that at least has some roots from the origin games.
In the hypothetical universe where Archie Megaman was a 90s comic based off of Ruby-Spears, I could absolutely see one of the earlier plot points being about Wily replacing and abandoning Proto Man in favor of Bass, in order to justify writing him closer to how he is in the games.
It's generally interesting to think about to be honest with what kind of shit they'd have to account for and adapt here in this hypothetical. Would MMX get a spinoff comic like Knuckles did with Sonic? Would they bother adapting games like Zero, Legends and ZX assuming the comic lasted that far, or would there be a similar dry spell period between 8 and 9's release? Would the comic get its own SGW equivalent to make the continuity more like the actual games at some point?
This is all honestly an interesting speculative fiction rabbit hole I wish I could go down in.
>Bass gays don't even understand the character
his whole thing is that he hates Wily, the frick does that have to do with Protoman who willingly joins him and loves to throw jokes and pranks during fights.

>Protoman who willingly joins him
Wily is seen reprogramming Proto Man in the origin episode, so there's no "willingly" in this case.

Could just have it be like this: >Wily no longer thinks Proto Man is useful and starts conceptualizing a new robot to replace him >Before Bass is finished, Wily pulls the rug out from Proto Man (so to speak), damaging him and pretty much leaving him to die >Light finds Proto Man in bad condition and repairs him. Proto Man isn't comfortable with being around the heroes but also resents what Wily did to him, and he leaves to carve his own path. >Wily finishes and activates Bass, and everything seems good at first, only for things to go awry as it's clear that Bass doesn't like him and just wants to butt heads with Mega Man (and other robots) over actually following orders.
Something like that would probably be in line for the series in this hypothetical.

He also really wanted to use Bass. But for some dumbass reason wanted to go in chronological order. Something the Ruby Spears cartoon even realized wasn't necessary.
Good for you anon.
Frick you I liked it.
NEVER
FRICKING
EVER
Why the frick would you want that?

Someday this series will get started.
>ywn see the conclusion of Blues's arc in any form of media
I’m still mad.

vesper woman sexo
She will live on in fanart.
>inferior hornetwoman OC
yikes
Don't make fun, I like the art she has.
robot bee girls are a rarity so I'll be happy to take them where I can get them
i never understood the appeal of this outside of a video game. it's not that interesting

says who.
Also kids don't care about megaman, this was always for nostalgia gays.
I never understood the appeal of any licensed comic.
Ariga's work is way better.
Comparing it to Ariga is fricking cheating, Ariga is like like the perfect choice to hand a sorta throwback/retro-feeling anime/manga property and go frick wild with it
It was better than Sonic, but again, that was a low bar.
Because Mega Man didn't have the dead weight of a decade-old out-of-date cartoon that the writers refused to let go of weighing it down.
I mean, could you imagine if this was based off the old Ruby Spears cartoon?
I actually could, because the Ruby-Spears cartoon might have been flawed in execution but it was still an overall faithful adaptation of the series, outside of Protoman being evil and that at least has some roots from the origin games.

2021
>Toejam & Earl
2019
damn they only lasted 3 years? shame.
>outside of Protoman being evil and that at least has some roots from the origin games.
Bass more or less has RS Protoman's role anyway.
Archie Sonic is like if we got a Castlevania comic based on the show and kept going long after said show got cancelled.

It was pretty damn good until it got shit on at the end.
HE'S A FIGHTING ROBOT
Frick you, I unironically liked it.
Same, it's the closest we'll ever get to brazilian Death metal.
Frick, meant HEAVY Metal, the magazine. In spirit I mean.
You can tell Ian wanted to do Mega Man X instead, but instead he got stuck with Saturday Morning Mega Man.
He also really wanted to use Bass. But for some dumbass reason wanted to go in chronological order. Something the Ruby Spears cartoon even realized wasn't necessary.
His problem was that he wanted to adapt the games one by one rather than just taking elements from them to create an original story.
Ian wanted to do the exact same thing if he had been able to write a Super Mario Bros. comic. He’s so fricking stupid.
That Megaman cartoon did what you saying.
And it was bad.
>and it was bad.
source?
Capcom said they had to do Classic in chronological order, morons.
Ian's writing has aged like milk, goddamn.
>Ian: "Why am I writing for this? I wanted to do MMX, dammit!"
Remember when we thought these refefences were cool instead of a sign of how awful things had become?
>Air Man repeats over and over "You can't defeat me!"
Ugh, tell me about it.
they were cool though
Once or twice was fine, little easter eggs. But the more it shows up the more it feels like a crutch.
Who the frick is "we"? I've been saying he's a hack for years now
Would've like it better without forcing the Sonic shit into canon.
Yeah
Yeah, cause it was good.
It was pretty good, aside from the second crossover.
Test
Megamix is better as an adaptation. Helps that Ariga was actually a MM fan as opposed to Flynn.
they also have the cutest roll
Word. Although all Rolls are cute.
Ariga read Archie Mega Man and liked it
Ariga can't read or speak english.
>Have you read the Mega Man Archie comics? If you did, what do you think about them?
>I did read them and I think they were great.

>even in the fricking Mega Man threads, the schizo Flynn hate cult has to spew their shit
Did Ian Flynn rape your dog or something? Shut up already.
meds my man
You don't have anything better to do, Ian?
Ian's writing is just that bad.
He supports Israel
Not much else to discuss otherwise if we leave our gripes about IDW Sonic out of the thread.
Not my fault Ian’s writing is so horrible.
>tfw they teased a Mega Man X comic by making a back up story set in X
>it never happened
I'm still mad
>>it never happened
Sales were shit
That’s what happens when you do two fricking crossovers back to back
