>Our crops are dying and we are starving >OH NO, I'm lost in the woods! I need to get back home >Our crops are dying and we are starving but we're glad you're back, son
If the selling point of the movie was sentient dinos they really should have had like a huge town/utopia with prejudice/misconceptions of humans as a starting point before kicking the indoor dino into the wilderness. He needed a love interest as well, since his family was shit and not enough motivation to get home
>they really should have had like a huge town/utopia with prejudice/misconceptions as a starting point
They realized that and reworked a lot of the original concept to make zootopia.
Jesus Christ, does every movie need a love interest? That was one of the better points of the movie. I'm fricking tired of every protag going through an arc where he's desperate for pussy.
It was ok once the kid and the dinosaur were together and got moving and it had its moments but it's really obviously a movie with a troubled production. I feel like Pixar were beating their heads against the thing for years to try to make it better but gave up and half assed it to try to make back the sunk cost.
Its a great fricking movie, remember always, there are 3 main characters. Arlo, the human boy, and the Environment itself. This is the only pixar film to focus on building the background landscape into something more than a frame for the characters. Watch it again with this is mind.
It was objectively the poorest movie they've ever produced. Not just the stupid people and dinosaurs living at the same time but the story was weak and mostly boring.
You can like it and you're welcome to. Most people didn't and for good reason. So frick you right back.
It would have been better as a regular Kids Western with a human boy and his pet wolf/wild dog... heck even the weird cannibalistic cultists would have been more interesting.
Me too, particularly the first half is really good.
Why?
How?
>Frick you, I have shit taste.
>Me too, I also have shit taste, let's be butt buddies!
Might actually be the most forgettable movie ever made
Onward. People even forget that it was made by Pixar.
Onward isn't nearly as bad. People don't remember The Good Dinosaur exists period let alone that it was a Pixar movie.
all I really retained from watching this was that it had a whole lot of blunt force head trauma for a kids film
It's the most forgettable Pixar movie released from 1995-2015.
biggest nothingburger movie I have seen in decades
Elemental was a big improvement over The Good Dinosaur for director Peter Sohn and producer Denise Ream.
It also did better than Good Dinosaur at box office and got an academy nomination.

Isn’t that the plot to The Wizard of Oz?

They really should've had a scene with Arlo and his brother/sister/mother in that tiny gap between the father dying and Arlo getting lost.

What the frick are you on about? The movie was nothing more than a tech demo for Pixar to show off environment rendering and that's it.
i mean. this is neat.

Spot should've been the focus, following the "dog's" pov.
That's good
