Why make a biopic about a band nobody's heard of?

what makes this documentary hilarious is that it was made like 7 years after the band broke up
the documentary not only ignores the fall of the band, but also ignores their contemporaries (blur, pulp, suede) for reasons.

heavily biased documentary for one hit wonder band.

Blur is for posh art student Southerners, Pulp and Suede are for gay Southerners. Oasis are for true dustmen who are well hard, you know what I mean?

Why didn't Liam ever take any advice on singing technique?
I've tried singing with his technique and it's literally painful, I can't imagine doing it for a 3-hour show, multiple shows a week, for 20 years.
Noel should have booted his ass after the first recording session for "Be Here Now" (which was a fricking kino album nonetheless).

      Anonymous

      >just boot the lead singer & basically whole imagine of the band

Liam smoked, and drank & screamed because that's what you do in a rock band. His voice recovered anyway so looks like he wins.

        Anonymous

        >that's what you do
He experienced greater decay in his voice from 94 to 97 than Layne Staley did from 89 to 94, and Layne was literally dying.
Jerry Cantrell, Paul McCartney, NOEL, their voices seem to be holding up. Because they used proper technique for singing and screaming.
        >His voice recovered anyway

"Some Might Say" is my favorite Oasis song.
He's better here than he was in like 2011 but that's a very low bar. His voice is still nasally and he's clearly struggling with the chorus that was effortless for him in 1995.
Please link me to a recent live performance that you would call evidence of his voice recovering.

          Anonymous

Well like I said, you didn't know what you were gonna get w him even way back then (there were plenty of nasally shit performances if you look). They only planned on making 3 albums so maybe he was just living it up, plus he wasn't a "singer" & not trained at all, just lads from a broken council estate home. Its what a lot liked about them because it was real, so you're gonna get some shit too.

That new Knebworth is as good as some of the Morning Glory era so it isn't unfair to say he's recovered nicely. Here's another: https://youtu.be/L19rGRxFouQ?si=r8ZQWfqJ_2l_wMHm

I checked out that video and it sounded like he did in-studio in 97 so I checked out one of his recent singles.

He has recovered better than I was giving him credit for. I could probably stand to listen to his new album. But for sure his vocal range and clarity are far reduced from their peak, to a far greater extent than they had to be.
I guess you're right, if he was ITT he'd probably say as much as you did. He's got the rock and roll soul.

Its amazing how much better her sounds now. Watched a show of his from last year with Bonehead on guitar and damn it was good. They need to get back together. The reunion shows would be ma$$ive for them

Working class Northen band makes rock tunes about living a hard life, resonates with everyone except the Southerners. Def Maybe was peak Oasis rock, Morn Glory was peak Oasis pop, the rest is shite.

I'm American & love them. They were the real frickin deal man, before music took a giant manufactured shit.

Even now there is no better rock band alive that still sounds as good & reached that level. If you can name them I'll eat my shit.

i highly doubt an american is a fan of oasis. there was so much more interesting music going on in the usa

Every Liam/Noel solo gig they at least play 10 Oasis songs and 3 of their own, lol. At that Manchester charity gig, 200 thousands people singing along to Champaign Supernova was breathtaking

          Anonymous

Yeah but it isn't Oasis. Noel's shows are snoozers & he can only do the "Noel songs". Liam is a bit better since he's the lead, but still missing Noel's distinct riffs & backing vocals.

            Anonymous

Yeah I feel like they're just cover bands with either Liam or Noel fronting, even the band members are like "Oi wha bou that song wes all wrote then?" Crowds go crazy for the Oasis bangers but head to the bar when the solo songs come on
