> What is going to happen to my digital copies?
>We understand that you may have concerns about your digital copies from Funimation. However, we are continuously working to enhance our content offerings and provide you with an exceptional anime streaming experience. We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to explore the extensive anime library available on Crunchyroll.

The path of anime leads to the solitude of its followers.
All you homosexuals mocked me for owning physical media
you are still a homosexual, my hard drive is physical media
physical vhs tapes are incredibly based but also pirating the content is also based
Same here. I have some of Funimation's blurays. Never bothered with the digital copies. The physical copy was good enough for me.
as far as I know the owned content on funi only came from codes that came with physical media
still a bit fricked to not migrate them over though
i'm surprised to hear funi still existed in any capacity at all though, their entire youtube channel got rebranded to crunchyroll dubs ages ago
>All you homosexuals mocked me for owning physical media
I did not.
Which is the one where Busta Rhymes beats the shit out of Michael? Is that the same one with the ridiculously bangable milf who Tommy spies on with a telescope?
>Which is the one where Busta Rhymes beats the shit out of Michael?
That's Halloween Ressurection
>Is that the same one with the ridiculously bangable milf who Tommy spies on with a telescope?
No, I'm pretty sure that's Halloween 6 (Curse of Michael Myers) but it's been a while. Is that the one with Paul Rudd you're thinking of?
>Not only having one and 3
Slash gays are the plebbitors of horror fandom
Disgusting
I would never brother
Nah, we were only mocking you for owning Halloween 6. That one sucks
Whoever writes these sorts of statements must have a fun job. It is full of double speak, careful legal statements, and somehow advertises itself while showing zero humanity all at the same time. Just brilliant artistry.
Marketing is news and sales at the same time. They're so drunk half the time that they don't feel anything from writing this shit.
YOU VILL OWN NOTHING
UND YOU VILL BE HAPPY
I own plenty of anime, and I didn't need funimation to get it
What do you own? I only have DBZ on DVD.
not him but I have a hdd with probably at least half a tb worth.
Everything half decent on my multiple 2 tera hard drives.
I just have the guyver series dvds (the 89-92 ones) and akira.
>mfw I only buy physical
I can just barely understand paying for something you can actually download. Even a limited number of times. But it being tied to a platform you have zero control over just boggles the mind.
or pirate
why is crunchyroll posting about funimation? why should they support anime you bought on funimation's app? did they do it before? pls explain i know nothing about japshit
Funi is being absorbed into CR since CR was bought out by sony, since CR is the biggest anime service they'll just absorb Funi and (some) of it's content
Nice
not nice
sony, despite being japanese, are almost as bad as disney in the arenas of troony and Black person worship.
I just use aniwatch for new stuff right now but I used to have a nice setup with sickbeard and a home server before I moved
I need to go back to that
Piratechads keep winning
Wasn't crunchy shit an piracy website like 9anime? Why should I use them instead of 9anime. All they did is harvest user data to sell to some nips.
They're basically a legit piracy site, they're licensed but they only give pennies to the creators.
You might be thinking of horriblesubs who ripped their stuff.
>Crunchyroll was first founded in 2006 and was initially a for-profit video upload and streaming site that specialized in hosting East Asian content. Some of the content hosted on Crunchyroll included versions of East Asian shows that had been subtitled by fans.
And then they got legit licensing but only gave pennies to the creators.
Good thing hosting pirated content and making money off of it doesn't exist anymore, what a wild and vile time
They stopped doing that by about 2008 or 2009.
>Some of the content
kek it was all of the content and they also put lots of it behind a paywall
Who the frick doesnt use nyaa nowadays? That one sub team is a god send
Apparently the codes to redeem digital copies only came with physical DVD and BR releases. So people whose digital copies that are being erased still have the DVD or BR. They should just torrent a copy or make one themselves
sirs, we cannot redeem?
its probably such a small amount of people who even redeem those code too. almost every single blu ray i buy with codes in them are already expired and the few that arent i dont even bother, not just anime but with any movie. they have the data on how many people have these redeemed, and they have data on how often those people actually use the site. you either are digital or you are physical, no one who cares about one is going to be put off losing the other. but as always, this is a choice individuals have to make for themselves an vote with their wallet. i dont use sub services or purchase digital shows often at all, last time was a month of apple+ to watch severance which didnt have a disc release when i checked
People who supported funimation deserve nothing less. People who support crunchyroll deserve it as well.
TOONAMI BROS. WE'VE WON
>we understand your concern that you will lose your purchased content, which will happen, but we are working on ways to have you buy it again through our new service, which is the old service but not
>it gets better
I thknk I will pay uhmmmmm... $0.00
You don't even need to be on AB/Baka, Nyaa has just about everything, there is zero excuse to pay for anime streaming services, but these services work regardless because I still know a shitload of people who still "don't get/like torrents"
you cant torrent on an ipad, that is the only reason i can think of
>THE ULTIMATE ANIME EXPERIENCE AWAITS!
>paying more for less stuff
Why does this keep happening? Why arent more people outraged?
Honestly it's because I believe no matter how much repetitive labor I perform I will never be able to own a house. That means that however unlikely my survival is in a scenario of societal collapse, I am more likely to own a house if it happens therefore, if something seems indicative of society degrading in pretty much any way whatsoever, I have a personal motive to feel satisfied and not outraged by said degradation. If anything, I am annoyed that piracy exists because it is slowing down that process by allowing men ages 18-40 to access to placative entertainment a la bread and circus.
I got all that shit in my SSD.
In glorious japanese, and not censored.
What I want to know is how come CrunchyRoll has been sitting on dubbed episodes of JJK but fricking no free site has an episode past 23. What the hell is that shit about?
Death to gayIMATION! Based Some Random Guy being relevant all these years later.
why is this thread on Cinemaphile and not Cinemaphile?
Because japanese board.
Cinemaphile is a shadow of itself and the thread would probably be deleted anyway
despite Cinemaphile's faults they still aren't morons who pay for streaming services
These lay offs are insane. Yesterday I found out that my corporation fired like all the senior management due to chapter 11 bankruptcy. Everything is going under.
I don't know why people don't pirate and or buy physical
Sony owns FUNimation, and then bought crunchyroll too. Now they have no reason for TWO anime services, so they combined it into one, and kept the crunchyroll brand because it's better
This is honestly a good thing because the service has everything, both subs and dubs, in one service.
Wow you're right definitely not a shill working for CR, it's a good thing we can pay to view those excellent dubs of proper anime, and you can wash away all those nasty icky older shows
Sony has a massive monopoly on anime streaming and are now charging 100/year for it
jews
animekeks will pay for it too
100$ a year for anime aint much for american consumer
I pay $0 and I don't support localizers in the process
$0 is less than $100
Stop being poor. $100 a year is less than $9 a month.
Crunchyroll's content library is ass.
Sony should buy Retro Crush and then maybe it would be half way decent
Did anybody actually use these digital copies? You had to jump through so many hoops just to access it I never even bothered to redeem the code
Thank you for not redeeming sir
I will redeem it ma'am I WILL REDEEM IT U MADERCHOE LEAVE UR MOUSEEEEEE AAAAAAALLLIAMAKABOOLAAAAAAAA
>yo ho ho, a pirate's life for me
What the frick kind of dumb normalgay actually pays for anime?
Zoomers with Daddy's credit card
I FRICKING HATE DAIZ
DAIZ IS PUBLIC ENEMY #1
he's still around and goes by he/they now (kek)
that bald homosexual has been a cancer on anime industry since 2011
i used to think he was actually cool back when he was part of [underwater] and would argue about h264 all day with nerds on Cinemaphile
he became extremely gay when he decided to go work for fakku in 2014
To be fair if you buy anime, especially digitally, you deserve this to happen to you.
>Funimation shut do-
>app
>website
So literally fricking nothing? I thought it was finally time to get #JusticeForVic
I really wish I didn’t lose my BakaBT login info a decade ago. So much old anime I can’t find seeders for.
Check the irc
Get yourself into AB, it's not too hard i think
Meh, I’m not as much as a weeb as I used to be to search for a AB invite. I only ever got a Jpopsuki invite years ago and I stopped using that too.
Isn't this illegal?
You accepted the t&c's! Not our problem!
not a single law protects your digital goods
Why, if laws protect their digital goods?
How do you even get invited to these places? I have tons of anime but I refuse to use troonycord
Honestly, I don’t even remember how I got a BakaBT invite. I think it was from some anon from a Cinemaphile thread over a decade ago. Jpopsuki from a old friend I played wow with.
Nah, that long ago you just signed up.
geting into bbt is easy, getting into ab requires substantially more effort
this means nothing to me since I just search up "[X anime] watch free online eng sub" and choose from one of the 11,000 websites that offer it.
For me it's Naruto x Sasuke Animal I Have Become AMV Part 2 sub espanol
For me it's Higurashi - homosexual amv
so what's the deal with the orange bricks? all I want is the shit I watched on toonami and/or the adult swim uncut shit with blood.
lolwut, example?
DBZ home distribution is such a clusterfrick I never know what to look for. Apparently these boxes, the orange bricks, are bad. Then there's dragon boxes? I used to just watch the shit on justin.tv channels in my apt a decade ago.
Oh I thought you meant they censored blood with orange bricks in the animation
Best physical DBZ would be the dragon boxes, but those are dvd's
The recent blurays anniversary collection is servicable but it's kind of limited
if you wanna watch em now, just download the torrents from ikaos on nyaa
another one bites the dust
I didn’t realise you could buy stuff on funimation. They switched to CrunchyRoll like a year or two ago. I used CR for convenience. But like most streaming services they only really have 75% of the stuff you want on there. But yes, if you want to actually buy a movie you should just get a disc copy. Most people have a console if they don’t have a dedicated dvd player.
I have torrented all the anime I care about since 2005 so I don't care
>We appreciate your understanding
Understanding of what? That they are too greedy to let users download their purchased media?
Normalgay
Normalgays all watch anime now, at least the ones under 25 and most of the ones under 30
No they don't
They might pretend to be into anime by watching a dubbed episode of whatever the top MALshit is while scrolling their phone, but they aren't actual fans
anime is fricking gay homosexual frick you queer
sneed
This.
I fricking hope so. Fansubs are always better and more soulful.
Frick Funimation and their b***h-ass VA clique
Anime is way too fricki g overpriced physical you have to wither stream or pirate it
150 dollars for 4 episodes bro, what are you poor?
Maybe you should've listened to us, your elders
Oh hey speaking of the onion this new one is pretty good
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/MrsHe1_fOnc
>https://www.youtube.com/shorts/MrsHe1_fOnc
>muh women victims
>muh Black person reporter
>muh women of color
no it's not good. babylon bee ate their lunch years ago and they've never recovered.
they brought the film standard back for a bit which was still funny but there's been nothing in months
no films good enough to "review" I guess
>he buys "digital copies."
Wasn't it just a few months ago Sony or Nintendo or both of their digital libraries got purged too?
Yes and yes.
https://www.whathifi.com/news/sony-is-set-to-remove-over-a-thousand-purchased-tv-shows-from-ps5-users-digital-video-libraries
https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/57847/~/wii-u-%26-nintendo-3ds-eshop-discontinuation-q%26a
>Even after March 27, 2023, and for the foreseeable future, it will still be possible to redownload games and DLC, receive software updates and enjoy online play on Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS family of systems.
They're shutting down the store, they're not removing paid content from people's accounts / devices.
rest in piss funi
So the Funimation app was working this whole time? I thought the Funimation app was no longer working when they joined with CrunchyRoll which is why I never used it and subscribed.
It's works but it's dogshit on my LG TV app
Eventually your physical players will break and there will be no boomers left to fix them
Which is why you copy everything to your home server. I suggest FreeBSD as it has built in ZFS which makes mirroring your drives a breeze, gotta protect from bit rot. Then you just have to remember to backup your data every so often and you are good to go.
Will we be back to the Fansub golden age?
Fansubs are great, takes forever though nobody has the patience for that anymore
it's not like they've fully died off, some dedicated groups are still up and about for their animes, Jojo for example
ai translation has the dangerhairs at localization companies shitting their pants, because soon any moron can run translations on their own
jannies doing a stellar job once again
You either buy a physical of something you like or you just torrent it. I dont understand normies who actually buy digital files that they can't even download onto a HDD. It's like everyone born after 2005 has the internet literacy equivalent of someone born in 1965.
Ganbare, Shamiko!
ahem
>glossing over the "These Digital copies available on Funimation were a digital access to the content available on the DVDs or Blu-rays purchased." bit
OP is a gay. You had to buy a DVD/Blu-Ray to get the digital copy. You still have the physical copies. If you got rid of them, you weren't allowed to keep the digital copy anyway.
"SUNSET" ISN'T A FRICKING VERB YOU UNEDUCATED homosexualS USE REAL WORDS
Why don't we take this offline and synergize better ways to ideate better ways to express your colorful language anon.
>Why don't we take this offline and ideate more synergistic methods for expressing your colorful language going forward
ftfy
He won.
>own cloud storage
>move petabytes of anime there
>preserve animation history in deep glacier archives
Next step is to inscribe them on 5D crystal storage devices and move them to Swiss nuclear bunkers.
