He is absolutely correct that fairies are real, but nobody wants to listen to him because he's a complete lunatic. I'm not saying people would believe Crocker if he were well adjusted, but they'd probably listen to him if he were.

It doesn’t matter if he was right. His impotent obsession destroyed his life while the fairies continued to live carefree fricking up reality for their own gain. It’s a surprisingly morbid mockery of those who still hold the truth in high esteem.

              Anonymous

But when you think about it this way, it's even more appropriate

Yes trannies are real and yes they do ruin discussions and entire subjects
But Crocker's issue was that he very rarely suspected actual fairies when fairies were present, he usually did his whole fit in a context where there was no fairy involvement

Likewise people on Cinemaphile can walk right past actual troony shit, and then scream "TRANNIES!" at the sight of like, a mars bar wrapper on the floor or something
They're right in theory but wrong in their assertion and drive themselves to insanity seeing something that isn't there

Nah, caffiene just doesn't work on some peopIe. I never even drank soda much as a kid, but it never made me hyperactive or anything, and I could easily drink some before bed and have no trouble falling asleep.

When I got my first full time job, I tried coffee a few times on mornings when I just couldn't wake the frick up, and it still did nothing. I've heard that people who suffer from anxiety or ADHD generally don't feel the affects of caffiene, so there might be some truth to that. But I also find that most drugs in general do not work on me, from painkillers to cold meds. It fricking sucks, actually.

            FURRY = NO
            ------------------
Listen to my exegesis. I'm not unsympathetic to the concept as I, too, am fully aware that the human body (despite being the only present example of metacognitive capacity in Earth's fauna) is not as sleek or well designed or alluring in the aesthetic sense as many other animals (even some other apes, from some people's sick perspective) and the fact that no real shape could ever match the desire for dignity impossible to achieve for any being that must masticate and defecate unethically sourced sustenance (even being a vegan does not absolve us from destroying ecosystems to feed ourselves) as well as infinite other indiginites inherent to being trapped in a fleshy three dimensional prison.
HOWEVER, we are not escaping this or improving the fantasy of escape by extending the two dimensional idealization into anthropomorphic existential recursions. A hot cartoon Jessica Rabbit is fine, a contextual female anthropomorphic counterpart for a goofy male rat, rabbit, dog, or fox as a sister, mother, love interest, is also fine. What Disney did with Lion King and the infamous 'bedroom eyes' disgusting scene with adult Nala is FRICKED UP for so many reasons which became the essential source (beyond perhaps the purposefully ironic Fritz the Cat and predecessors) for the FURRY cultural psychosis ruining anthropomorphic images forever since. Aesthetics are narrative, are philosophy behind narrative, is conceptual and therefore recursive into negative and antithetical ethics and morality: the furry culture is delusionally narcissistic AS WELL as violently hostile to any reasonable response against this delusion AS WELL as being anti-sex and a new form of puritanism (It may not seem that way on the surface, but yiffing is not real sex, a substitute fetish that avoids actual physical contact through gross suits, etc) AS WELL as longing for mythic, impossible futures with no doubt about it's constant associations with fascism.

              EXEGESIS AGAINST FURRIES PART TWO
              ----------------------------------------------------------
Art on its own is neither meaningful nor dangerous much like the grammatical concept of 'meaning' itself having no use outside of X means Y or as a question: X means? However, sophistry can exploit the digital infinity of language (specific, limited amount of phonemes which can be combined into infinite possible statements) by making unhinged claims ("life has meaning" and other nice sounding poetic nonsense). It would be one thing to merely be art or an extension of traditional anthropomorphic cartoons (even sexual Tijuana bibles about Daisy Duck or whatever) which will always be the insincere and unserious argument FOR furry culture but it ignores the essential nature of this subculture as a disaffected and self obsessed parasitical thought recursion that a two dimensional persona is not only superior to the actual self but a great avatar facilitating suicide, murder-suicide, and joining in on edgy or outright white supremacist radical political group. No, it makes little sense why overly decorated and ridiculous furry avatars lead to white supremacy but the statistics and any mild investigation into the history always reveals the unhinged and inane pathway toward that end result. This has to do with incredibly misunderstood human psychology which can lead anyone into any outcome if given the correct stimulus through the blind spot. Enjoyment is not internally examined for fear of destroying that enjoyment! This is ALWAYS used as a convenient hook toward more and more outlandish excuses for displaced aggression which builds in the psyche since birth and repressed by the metacognition as well as society and society's famous inability to properly address real issues. The Furry is trapped in a fantastic narcissistic delusion NOT of their own composition (these images are ALL dependent plagiarisms of each other) to escape themselves in rituals of self roboticism!

EXEGESIS AGAINST FURRY CULTURE PART THREE SUBSECTION THIRTY FIVE OF A SEVENTY FIVE PART TREASTIE
                -------------------------------------------------------------------------
While it might seem obsessive to consider the Furry culture as significant or relevant beyond it's original limited expose in old media, the fact is that the uncomfortable display of unusual and unrelatable sexual fetishes which most dismiss the subculture as is a CONVENIENT method of disguise for a stand-alone complex or mass hysteria boiling subtly in the minds of children and teens generations AFTER the original conventions and popularity seems to have waned. We also forget how this phenomenon will reoccur when in the near future technology continuues to offer more and more new 'escaping' technologically facilitated communities in a trans-human sense once outlined as a sever military threat by Norbert Weiner the man who coined the term cybernetics. Technology can connect, sophists and cultists and people who are 'insane' (severely neurodivergent, mostly speaking of chemically here and in need of medication) and don't realize what they are doing will slip through that paradox that further and more novel communication can help with the social animal instinct to BOTH fuse and fission. We are only seeing the canary in the coal mine die as we see the furry subculture struggle in the death throws. The gas is still there and we will all choke if we go down deeper without taking the warning to account. The next transition won't be relatively harmless if political wedge issue of gender reassignments: people will transform themselves into eldrich gods! White supremacy will be the least of humanity's problems, especially if and when humans begin to digitize themselves, destroy their original bodies, and become machine monsters lusting over the torture/murder of those who stupidly keep their flesh. The psychological rancor of being alive is a tsunami only a lack of technology holds back.

god damn homie how have you spent so much time thinking about this and never hit the common thread

Furries are avoidant-dismissive. The relationship modeled by their parents in infancy and early childhood instilled a subconscious assumption that human beings can't/won't meet their emotional and physical needs. This drives a whole host of maladaptive behaviors that you can see correlated with the furry community. The reason avoidant-dismissive people become so attached to the furry culture is because it maintains the human primary and secondary sexual characteristics that allow them to feel attraction but circumvent that subconscious bias against reciprocal relationships with humans.

tl;dr: Mommy and Daddy let the baby "cry it out," now they can't function properly with humans but they can with humans in masks

Anon, there are significant numbers of mostly American blacks who believe ancient Egyptians and israelites were secretly black. There's even one who claims all period depictions of important Europeans were painted over to appear white, but were originally black. This weird historical fan fiction isn't anything new.

Except the Yakub story precedes the first appearance of Davros by 40-odd years. It's almost like someone from the future went back and wrote it… Nah, couldn't be. There has to be some other explanation for the creator of the Yakub story having no records of existing before adulthood and eventually disappearing without a trace

Cults/Racist organizations/Fascist groups targeting an ethnic minority don't say "oh they're a threat and they're wrong," they believe simultaneously that the target group is both innately weak and inferior on a fundamental level AND impossibly powerful and superior. It's doublethink at its most blatant and to try to reduce the portrayal of weakness as them "being wrong" about something shows a complete and total lack of understanding of the basic concepts at play.

No, it's not. Fascism barely has any "classic tenets" as Mussolini just sort of made it up as he went along. If I had to name one "classic tenet" of fascism, it's its historical manifest destiny type stuff. It's literally in the name. Mussolini wanted a new Roman empire. What you're quoting is one of Umberto Eco's moronic rules, and it bears mentioning Eco wasn't an expert of any kind. He was a writer, first and foremost. It's like asking Stephen King's opinion on fascism, and like Eco he's just going to give some personal opinion based on his own current dislikes. This particular rule is just basic propaganda, and you'll find nearly every political movement in the world guilty of it, and in greater amount the more authoritarian and totalitarian they get. Totalitarianism, BTW, is actually a fascist concept used to describe itself.

Just look at what people said about Trump and his supporters. They were convinced there was a Nazi conspiracy to take over the US, but that they would all stand down if enough people just voted for Hillary. Ardent democrats, those Nazis. Everyone knows that. So were the people who said that actually fascists? And before you answer that, remember that part of Eco's theory is that it only takes the presence of one of his rules for something to qualify as fascism.

Digimon. Why can't you not ask stupid fricking questions that are also general statements?

              >creature is completely based in fantasy
              >the bright color is at least restricted to the stomach pattern and claws
              >doesn't awkwardly interrupt fur patterns
              >still doesn't look particularly good
Just because you can look at a color wheel doesn't mean the colors will look good no matter what you do with them.

If she's 30-something she's from the era when that was cool. But it's OK, nostalgia is bringing sparkledogs back to being cool. They're like the scene girls of the furry community.

It's funny because "free speech" became the euphemism for holocaust denial and racism. It's like if someone only talks about freedom of expression when it comes to child pornography, they likely don't give a shit about "hate speech" laws or what constitutes harassment, they're just pedos. If the free speech crowd shows up to support rightwing speakers but supports a state banning an episode of Arthur for having a gay wedding, they aren't really concerned with free speech. And of course nazis were against free speech, but the joke comes from awareness of the dishonest framing.

people don't realize that clinical depression is an actual mental illness. it's not "having good things and ignoring or not appreciating the fact that you have them", it's about being sad (or more often just numb) DESPITE having those good things. it's feeling like shit when you have no logical reason to feel that way because your brain is producing the wrong chemicals for the situation. there's no amount of mindfulness that can change that, it takes medication

there's a theory that the neurons in your brain frick up the response to some specific levels of serotonin, leading to a feedback loop that causes them to remove most of serotonin receptors, leading you to feel like shit all the time. ssris supposedly work by fricking up your brain's serotonin levels and/or reception EVEN MORE, which by pure chance breaks that feedback loop, allowing the brain to in time recover its normal function. you can MEASURE when someone has a clinical depression with a tomography - they'll have smaller amygdala.

By the time I made it in to the doctor's to get a refill prescription, I ended up sitting in the check-up room waiting for the doc for 40-something minutes because they had forgotten I was there, and I couldn't care enough to track down a nurse. I was in tears when the receptionist was giving me shit about them changing their policy and not letting me pay the bill later. I was a 20-something year-old man. Shit's real, and it not fun.

        Anonymous

Humor often relies on a contrast between the unexpected and the recognition of a familiar pattern.
        This joke contains three contrasts.
        1. We are familiar with haggling and negotiation, but it is non-sensical to do so using unverifiable probabilities on your own actions.
        2. It's absurd that these animals would negotiate over biting off heads, but we are familiar with the story of mantises biting off each other's heads after mating.
        3. The female replies to the familiar phrase 'what are the chances' with a literal answer, which doesn't fit the obvious context but references something we just read.

All true humor comes down to a clash between what is intuitive and what is logical. Jokes that don't follow this rule just excuses to say something.
This comic is an example of priming your intuition to accept something (using a recognizable conversation type/using earlier panels to set up later ones) that your reasonable mind rejects (giving odds for murder/answering literally.)
There are jokes that do the inverse as well.

By the way, this comic would also have been less funny if the female had said '1 in 20' instead of '5 percent exactly'. Because the more exact answer reflects the alternative context, in which 'what are the chances' is a more genuine question, better, making it easier for your intuition to accept it. You wouldn't restate what you've already said, you'd assume the question was for more precision.

I hope this helps read into not just this joke, but any humorous material you may find in the future.

So it's just a long way of saying "We can make the world equal by making the US worse". Got it, thanks.

          >we can make the world equal
No, we can roughly double the world's production

              ...

If everyone in the world moves to the United States then US GDP = world GDP
By megamind's calculations everyone in the world moving to the US would make the US GDP per capita ~29.4k
Which means the world GDP per capita would go up from 16.2k to 29.4k

They say average outcomes would be better, not equal. These are people who jerk off to game theory and the free market, they have different neuroses

It's stupid and so are you.

          I'm just explaining the mindset

It's an estimate by some economist, you can't derive all of it from quick napkin math. Probably there's some kind of long PDF on sci-hub to justify them. Maybe even several PDFs

LMAO this is running on the logic that Corporations are just willing to accept the massive change in labor economy. The reason the boarders are closed is to purposefully control the pay rate of the average laborer.

    >Let's give them the opportunity to have any form of control over their wages.
    Or
    >Keep the boarders closed and force a situation where immigrants stay within the US with a negative status and have them accept lower wages

        >Vasovasostomy is effective at achieving pregnancy in a variable percentage of cases, and total out-of-pocket costs in the United States are often upwards of $10,000.[66] The typical success rate of pregnancy following a vasectomy reversal is around 55% if performed within 10 years, and drops to around 25% if performed after 10 years.[67]
