Rosetta stone had languages they knew, which is how they learned the language. The Atlantians had no such key. So they just had random symbols to 'read'

Not one of them being able to read just seemed fricked up. Underwater Indians. The Atlantis movie was cool but it coulda been cooler with a more competent Atlantis. It would still be easy to understand why they wouldn't want to interact with pillaging envious humans. If they don't have the numbers to defend the tech it'll just be taken from them so they gotta hide.
All of the people in atlantis were survivors, thosands of years old, kept alivw by the crystals. So either wveryone just forgot how to do everything, or the super crystal make them all fuktarded to keep it's civilization in a form of protective stasis.

I like Atlantis, but it has this weird as frick artstyle where half of it looks great and the other half kind of sucks. Besides that, the tone of Atlantis doesn't feel as good.
